Yugoslav RCL
Dear Gilderien, Bad news, I'm afraid. I took the information from Okrety Wojenne Nr.4 and translated it through a Babelfish. This does not pass Wikimuster. I'll look some more, but information on the unglamorous RCL is accursedly thin. Best regards, AmesJussellR (talk) 22:35, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
Incident # 13 in Political Family of Bangladesh83.81.44.205 (talk) 11:48, 6 October 2012 (UTC) */ 83.81.44.205 (talk) 14:31, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
DNS 188.28.82.100 removed the Sher-e Bangla family & Sheikh Mujib family, the family of the founding fathers of Bangladesh from number 1&2 position. This is verifiable. Wikipedia should ban the DNS user 188.28.82.100 for doing it over 13 times. There is nothing constructive in removing the founding fathers of the nation from rank 1 and 2 and replacing it with a listing of a family of convicted war criminals such as the Chowdhury family. This is verifiable by Wikipedia and the responsible DNS user who is using a variety of fake DNS ids should be banned.
- As far as I can tell, it is not an ordered list and so the presence of a convicted criminal at the top does not really matter. Otherwise if you still think they should be blocked contact an administrator here.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 14:54, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Jimmy saville
You are wrong, Jimmy saville in now descrived extensively in the UK press by chief police officers as a sexual predator, please revert your changes and get your facts right — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.4.222 (talk) 21:51, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- As a UK resident myself I have followed the Jimmy Saville story extensively, but in the context of that article, it is not relevant to the meeting, nor was that "fact" known at the time of the meeting. Also, please use a civil tone, it struck me as slightly rude and while I might not mind if people address me like that some will be un-necessarily offended. Thanks.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 21:56, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/jimmy-savile-sex-abuse-claims-1370398
reliable source, suck it up, your opinion counts for nothing this is widely verifiable in the UK press, savile was a paedo, all refes to him should include this — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.4.222 (talk) 22:01, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- That completely misses the point I was making - it is unnecessary to include the "fact he was a paedo" in every reference...should every mention of Stalin include the fact he killed millions of his own citizens? No, this is a reputable encyclopaedia and as such must be both accurate and concise. In addition, your tone seems now deliberately offensive so please refrain in future.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 16:50, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
I think it is as valid to mention (if not more so) that he raped children, as it is to mention the fact that he is a charity fundraiser.., so if we strike paedo ( I am paraphrasing) we should remove charity fundraiser, there needs to be balance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.4.222 (talk) 20:30, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
- Yes but the programme which is being referred to was about his charity fundraising in part, and was produced before his paedophilia was common knowledge and so this is not relevant in the context of the programme.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 21:14, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
Theroux actually touched upon it in the show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnvEdh3vAq8 watch 44 mins on.. for 2 minutes.. if you can be bothered, quite clearly lots of paedo stuff there — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.4.222 (talk) 11:42, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
I watched it. Ok, I concede the point and apologise for dragging this out like this.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 18:44, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
Actually, no. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty. See WP:BLPCRIME and WP:BDP. Given that some of the victims have filed a lawsuit against the BBC, he should be referred to, if at all, as 'alleged sexual predator, pending the outcome in the courts.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 20:10, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
Its a scandal no doubts, but the "kiddy fiddler" part of its seems exaggerated, I don't see the allegations as "paedophilia" in the sense of a sexual fascination with small children, just a sexual predator who liked young girls. But by law, anybody who has sexual relations with somebody under the age of consent is considered a paedophile. I know a guy who is pretty straightlaced, son of a police officer and he went to jail for four years and on the sex register for kissing and fondling a 15 year old girl when he was 21. His criminal record now implies he is a paedophile and some sort of sicko which couldn't be further from the truth. But with Savile 340 investigations.. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:53, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Spotlight
WikiProject Holidays/Christmas task force is the group whose purpose is to help develop the content related to the Christmas season, including Advent, New Year's, and related holidays. As many of us know, in several parts of the world, including the United States, the Christmas season is not only the time of one of the greatest holidays of the Christian liturgical year, but it is also the "make or break" time for many retailers, whose profitability for the year often depends on their success in this time of the giving of sometimes significantly expensive gifts. In other parts of the world, the winter solstice period and sometimes specifically Christmas itself means something that might surprise many Christians, like the Christmas in Japan, where Christmas is one of the times hotels receive the greatest number of, often unmarried, couples staying there for the night. The solstice season is also significant to several other religions. Many of these days are also legal holidays in several places. In Belarus, for instance, both the Western and Eastern Christmas commemorations are legal holidays. We would certainly welcome the members of this project to donate some of their time and talents in the upcoming months to improving this significant content.

GA inclusion in DYK proposal
Hi Gilderin, I have been following your proposal at DYK, and I notice that the discussion has been going on for more than a week now. I do not know what the customary timeline for these discussions are, but I was wondering at which point the decision over the matter will be made. Thanks. --Tea with toast (話) 02:51, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know either, I'm afraid, nor who would close it....presumably an uninvolved admin. Obviously, I have a COI here, but it seems to me to be about 2/3 support for the proposal, with longer reasons for supporting it than opposing it, but I do not know if this is enough to decide it.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 09:55, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Wikipedians who are not a Wikipedian
Please do not make articles about a living person that are entirely negative in tone and unsourced. Wikipedia has a policy of verifiability and any negative information we use must be reliably sourced, and our articles must be balanced. Negative unreferenced biographies of living people are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Youreallycan 23:57, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
