Adoption

edit

I noticed you're looking for an adopter on Wikipedia - I'd be only too happy to adopt you. I probably won't be able to help you that much (I don't know much about international relations etc.) but I can answer any questions you've got and give you tips. You may not want an adopter any more, I've had a look at your contributions and you look like you're doing fine. You would be my first adoptee and because of that I'm currently only half-way through creating a page with help for new users and I haven't finished it yet. However, if you would like to adopted by me feel free to drop in on my talk page!   WVRMADTalk Guestbook 18:53, 14 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

WVRMad, I would love to be adopted! Let me know about any secret rituals I need to do, and let's get started! Greenhas (talk) 07:03, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I, WVRMad, have now adopted you! I have placed {{adopter|Greenhas}} on my user page and if you want to you can place {{adoptee|WVRMad}} on yours! How do you want me to run your adoption? There are several different ways I can take you through adoption, it depends on what you want. If you want I can follow your edits closely and give advice and tips, saying what I think you could improve and pointing out any mistakes I spot, alternatively I can just leave you alone and just be there to answer any questions about Wikipedia and give advice. I recommend you have a look at the five pillars of Wikipedia, this introduction to Wikipedia which has links to useful tutorials and this list of Wikimarkup. I can see you're already familiar with the main rules and are using appropriate citations and creating articles so why don't have a look at some Wikipedia essays and user-created essays? Some are funny, like WP:NAM, WP:GIANTDICK and WP:BEANS but they all have a meaning behind them and are full of ideas, hints and tips from experienced editors. I'll get back to you with more tips as soon as possible, below is a template of links by Jennavecia (talk · contribs) to different parts of Wikipedia, enjoy following them and exploring the community of users!
PS: On talk pages, when you reply put : in front of your comment, this indents it.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you! WVRMADTalk Guestbook 18:44, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Geneva Call & Title Formatting

edit

Hello again Greenhas! I've been having a look at Geneva Call, an article to which you have contributed significantly. I just wanted to say that it looks great! If you want to improve it any further why not have a look at Wikipedia:Article development? The only problem I noticed is that when you had a new header or title you typed =(title)=, what you should have typed was ==title== as this produces the standard sized header; the titles you were creating were too large. See you soon! WVRMADTalk Guestbook 17:40, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the heads up! I hope to keep working on the article, so if you have any more advice, let me know. Greenhas (talk) 07:13, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of 1000 PeaceWomen

edit

The article 1000 PeaceWomen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Possibly fails WP:CLUB

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Kudpung (talk) 08:15, 22 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the deletion proposal after adding several third-party sources to the article. Coupled with the organization's international scope, I feel that this makes the organization CLUB-worthy. Thanks for the heads-up, and let me know if you have anything else to say about the article. Greenhas (talk) 11:18, 22 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

The SuperFogeys

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of The SuperFogeys, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Superfogeys. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:07, 29 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

How are you doing?

edit

I haven't left a message at your talk page for a while so I just wanted to drop by and say hello. How are you doing on Wikipedia? Any problems you need help with? By the way, I noticed that you had a bit of trouble while trying to rename an article (the SuperFogeys), in the future, rather than copying an article, you can move the page using a special tool that is on the top toolbar along with edit, read, add to watch list etc. Hope this helps! WVRMADTalk Guestbook 14:36, 30 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the checkup! Things have been a little slow recently, the semester just started and I'm trying to figure out when the best time to edit is. I did have a little trouble renaming, but I'm all the wiser for next time. I hope to get back into some more substantial editing soon. Thanks! Greenhas (talk) 19:38, 2 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Adoption update

edit

Hello again Greenhas!

Unfortunately I will be less active on Wikipedia for an intermediate length of time because I have been banned from Wikipedia from my parents. I will still check my watchlist and talkpage every few days but I will unable to check up on you as regularly as normal and will be reduced to small edits here and there rather than hundreds of edits a month. Feel free to ask me questions any time on my talkpage - I will still reply as quickly as possible but ultimately I will not be able follow up anything discussed if it requires much time and effort.

I am sorry about this but I would also like to congratulate you on how you are doing, you seem to have settled in really well! You are welcome to end your adoption if you want, if you do end I will still be there to answer questions and give advice - don't forget I am stalking your talk page and will probably pop up from time to time and comment on whatever is going on. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
