Conflict of Interest

edit

  Hello, Grush. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.

Deletion of FAST article

edit

"A page existed with completely false information on it". Well, that's not true, is it? The article you created previously had been deleted after a discussion so there was nothing for you to correct. Conflicts of interest are, unfortunately, often invisible to those committing them. The fact is, you shouldn't be creating or editing a page about something that involves you so directly, as it is very difficult for you to abide by the neutral point of view policy. Deb (talk) 16:23, 5 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

There was an article prior to mine and it was completely false. I simply replaced it. It was deleted because I'm learning how to post here. I had posted the original article from Computerworld - copyright problem even though I wrote it. I removed it and worked to make it neutral. So - it is true that the previous one was wrong (not my previous attempt - the original one). I've looked at the policy - this article is not about me and I no longer sell the product - just simply trying to get the history right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.38.53.188 (talk) 16:42, 5 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

By the way, the article mentioned above was about me - a bio - and I understand the COI. FAST is the only article I'm concerned with. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.38.53.188 (talk) 16:45, 5 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

The article mentioned above is more than about you - it is an autobiography, something that is highly discouraged. If you do understand the COI, then you understand that you must declare your COI on the talk page of the FAST article, and you must cease to edit it directly. You can request that suggested edits be done by non-involved editors. Those editors will determine if the edits are appropriate. LaMona (talk) 18:03, 5 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Facilitated Application Specification Techniques

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Facilitated Application Specification Techniques requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.mgrconsulting.com/index.php/gary-rush-mgr-consulting-facilitator-training-facilitation. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I've removed the copyvio, tidied up what's left and left some notes on its talk page.  —SMALLJIM  16:55, 5 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
