Speedy deletion nomination of Unit Run Canteens

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Unit Run Canteens requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I'm sorry, but the article as posted was a copyright violation of the guardiantimes site. Wikipedia is licensed under CC-BY-SA 3.0 for free reuse by anyone anywhere, and text that is copyright elsewhere may not be imported into Wikipedia unless it is licensed in a similar way (or is free to use because of being in the public domain for reasons of age or originating from certain government departments). We cannot accept the assertion on a talk page by a user that they are in a position to authorise the use of the text. For details of how to license text, please see [[WP[:COPYVIO]], which also gives more details about copyright. I would not advise going through the licensing procedure in this case. The article is rather too long for the subject, in my opinion, and is definitely promotional of a viewpoint. Wikipedia insists on a neutral point of view being used in articles WP:NPOV and does not allow promotion WP:SPAM whatever the entity or idea being promoted. This applies to mousetraps, charities, religions, multi-nationals and political parties - anything. Your intention to put a message in front of people may well be commendable, but Wikipedia is not the place for that. An article about the URCs might be acceptable so long as it was neutral and backed up with reliable independent sources WP:RS. Finally, I most explain why I have blocked your account. Wikipedia policy WP:USERNAME does not allow accounts to appear to represent an organisation. You are welcome to request unblocking for a change of name. This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Guardian.foundationNGO, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Peridon (talk) 12:49, 21 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
