Speedy deletion nomination of Graham syfert

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Graham syfert requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Travelbird (talk) 08:28, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of John Graham of Duchray

edit

The article John Graham of Duchray has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. BO; talk 06:54, 31 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Earls of Menteith

edit

Many thanks for your contributions on the Earls of Menteith. I've had a go at copyediting these, adding links and categories, for example, and making some amendments in line with the manual of style. Incidentally, internal links work without underscores between words: Earl_of_Menteith works the same as Earl of Menteith. A couple of suggestions: you may want to look for additional sources to add more detail to the articles, some lean heavily on only one reference; and its worth filling out a bit more background, to explain to the general reader who the Covenanters are, for example, or why Cromwell was in Scotland. But these are a great start, I hope you can continue. Any questions, you can contact me via my talk page. Thanks, Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 11:35, 1 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
