editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Draft:Maymay has been reverted.
Your edit here to Draft:Maymay was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline. The reference(s) you added or changed (http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/maymay) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Sources
editPlease do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:10, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
File upload
editYou recently uploaded a file taken from the Readers Digest website, which you stated had been released by its copyright owner into the public domain. I was unable to find any confirmation of that from that web site, and the site's terms of use made it seem highly improbable. I have deleted the file, but you may re-upload it if you can provide proof that the copyright situation is as you said it is. Please make sure in the future that you always provide evidence of copyright when necessary, as otherwise you are likely to be blocked from editing. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:27, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Hi. Yes, I have discovered there is a £20 charge for the image after doing some digging, https://www.istockphoto.com/gb/photo/spraying-hair-with-hair-spray-in-hair-salon-gm492735680-76483561 of which I wasn't aware of. Apologies for this, I will be more careful in the future. H.A.W.C 101 (talk) 20:39, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Okay. I have added another image to Dry shampoo. This time I think it is permissible. H.A.W.C 101 (talk) 21:20, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Edit-warring
editYou currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Dry shampoo. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:31, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Sorry to hear of the disagreement, I was just confused to why you had reverted mine and another users contribution to the Dry Shampoo page since we had both provided sources backing up our statements. I never intended to start a 'war'. Is it possible for you to expand on why you removed the contributions? Thanks. H.A.W.C 101 (talk) 20:44, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Image without license
editUnspecified source/license for File:An image of Minipoo Dry Shampoo,the first commercially produced dry shampoo powder.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:An image of Minipoo Dry Shampoo,the first commercially produced dry shampoo powder.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 21:45, 18 July 2018 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright
editHello H.A.W.C 101, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Draft:Hmm have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 19:37, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
