Deleted Updates on Alliance Party of Ontario

edit

In response to your response on your edits of the Alliance Party of Ontario wikipage:

No, that does not clear it up, as you did not present neutral, objective, and pertinent information on . Actually, you lied and present a false, biased, and non objective presentation of factual information. There was no advertising of any party, simply factual information which you do not present, your own work does not base upon the fact or truth of the Ontario Alliance and thus you HamOntPoliFiend are simply a propagandist who must defend their lies in their editing as you have made.

Deleted Updates on Ontario General Election 2018

Hello, you are not being factually accurate with your data and info on the Ontario Alliance which I have crosschecked your purposeful innuendo and propaganda with, so why are you erroneously writing incorrect data and info on that provincial political party in particular, when the history proves the opposite of what you are posting on its party article here on wikipedia, HamOntPoliFiend? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.254.254.12 (talk) 00:24, 6 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I am new to Wikipedia editing. You deleted the updates I was making to the Ontario General Election 2018 Page. I did read through the Talk page and it clearly said "Every party that nominates a candidate in a majority of ridings in a region will get a column for their candidates." The NOTA party has announced that they are running in every riding in this election and nobody has uploaded all of their Candidates yet. I was contributing to the article by adding their candidates and you removed it all. Why is that?

Why would the Southwestern Ontario candidates list have Trillium and Libertarian columns with only a combined 3 candidates?

Thanks,

Im new here, just trying to understand — Preceding unsigned comment added by Football-Col (talkcontribs) 19:15, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

→ Hello! Thanks for checking in. At the time of the edits, the link to the NOTA candidate page was broken. That link has now been fixed and it is evident there are a number of NOTA candidates seeking election in the ridings you had previously added columns for. You can now re-add those candidates. Note: columns should only be added where there are NOTA candidates for a majority of the ridings in the region, and it is unnecessary to indicate a riding's NOTA candidate is TBD. I'll go in and re-add some of those for you.

Thanks! HamOntPoliFiend (talk) 19:30, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! I will go back over the page and make sure its all to those standards. Cheers Football-Col (talk) 19:40, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Mumilaaq Qaqqaq

edit

Hello! You recently reverted my edits on Mumilaaq Qaqqaq, and I agree with the decision due to not being able to find a source. However, she did announce she was leaving the party on an Instagram story, but I can't find any record of it. Hcoder3104☭ (💬) 20:25, 9 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hmm...I did not know that, though looking at her Insta, it does show instances of her mentioning she does not want to be associated with any party. If we could find a source from the media, that might help. She's stayed out of the spotlight since leaving Parliament, so not too sure what to do about that. Thanks for the heads up! What a shame

edit

The inaccuracy of political party pages is shameful claiming that facts from the parties themselves isn't being 'objective' but completely bias media articles are perfect.

No wonder no one takes this site seriously, moderation using bias articles to manipulate the facts.

By the way what the hell does an easterner know about Western party politics? Daniel Of Winnipeg (talk) 00:23, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sure. The important thing to note here is that all your edits will be welcome if they come from a third-party and are neutral in nature (see more info here). If there are articles in the media, academic articles, or other sources that provide clarity on your claims, they will be accepted. Tone is also important (see further info here). The line "are proud advocates for" is great for a press-release or party literature, but Wikipedia tries to match the tone of an encyclopedia. The opening blurb for the Manitoba NDP, for example reads:

The New Democratic Party of Manitoba (French: Nouveau Parti démocratique du Manitoba) is a social-democratic political party in Manitoba, Canada. It is the provincial wing of the federal New Democratic Party, and is a successor to the Manitoba Co-operative Commonwealth Federation. It is currently the opposition party in Manitoba.

This gives us a quick understanding of the party. It is social democratic, a branch of the federal NDP, and is in opposition. It does not include phrases that would be considered more "editorial" in nature, such as "are proud advocates for labour" or something of the like. It is important to keep Wiki articles neutral to provide objective information to those seeking to learn more about a topic.
Further to this, I have now added a "Daily Pageview" graph to the top of the Maverick Party's wiki talk page. While it seems like there was a spike in interest during the party's leadership election, daily views are now quite low. I understand the motivation to get more involved with a political party about which you are passionate. That is always great to see. But a better use of one's time is organizing in their own community, rather than editing on Wikipedia. As I tell angry municipal candidates in Ontario who seek to use the municipal election pages here for self-promotion (which is prohibited on Wikipedia), canvassing, organizing, and working to get your message out there (which, consequently, also gets media stories out there that can be used by neutral Wiki editors to update the page about which you have concerns) may be a more productive endeavour.
All the best! HamOntPoliFiend (talk) 01:31, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
