George Yaw Djan-Baffour moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, George Yaw Djan-Baffour, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Mirrors

edit

Thanks for contributing to the article Magnus Opare-Asamoah. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gladys Asmah, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Britain. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of John Setuni Achuliwor

edit

Hello Hannah Nyame,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged John Setuni Achuliwor for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Proposed deletion of Steve Senu Akorli

edit

Hello, Hannah Nyame

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username John B123, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Steve Senu Akorli, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. To prevent the deletion, please add a reference to the article. You may remove the deletion tag yourself once the article has at least one reliable source.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|John B123}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Overlinking and overcapitalising

edit

Hi, thanks for your work. Please note that you're capitalising common nouns—not done in English. And that you're linking common terms like "farmer" and "politician", which is against our style rules.

Please take a look at a few articles I've edited, like this one. Tony (talk) 05:47, 2 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Baffour Annor

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Baffour Annor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ─ The Aafī (talk) 09:08, 7 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

edit

Thanks for all your hard work creating biographies of Ghanaian politicians. But may I please ask you to slow down a little, and source them adequately before creating another? You've just created three bios in seven minutes, and all three are sourced with only a vague mention of an election record. WP:Biographies of living persons must be well sourced. And there's really no need to rush these. Please, take your time. Thanks again. Captain Calm (talk) 12:06, 13 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, and I'm having to fix a lot of low-level problems in these articles. Lots of inappropriate links and capital letters. Why is "[year] Ghanian general election" piped to a capped version? Tony (talk) 05:14, 14 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:George Yaw Djan-Baffour

edit

Hello, Hannah Nyame. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "George Yaw Djan-Baffour".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Some style and formatting tips

edit

Hi, thanks for making articles on Ghanaian politicians, I did the same for some Kyrgyzstani politicians some time ago. A few notes on style and formatting:

  • The article title (or person's name) in the lead section should be capitalised. So, Dave Smith (born 19 May 2001) is a scientist, not Dave Smith (born 19 May 2001) is a scientist.
  • Use {{birth date}} for birth dates in the lead section. Additionally, the word born should be inside brackets along with the {{birth date}} template. Example:
    • Dave Smith (born (2001-05-19)May 19, 2001) is a scientist.
    • See in edit mode how this is formatted.
  • The infobox should be the first thing seen when viewing the source of the article. Not the lead.
  • Sorry, real pet hate for me up next, but...MOS:HEAD. Example:
    • ==When You Make Section Headers You Should Not Write Them Out Like This==
    • ==But instead you should write them out like this==
  • I'm not sure why are sometimes capitalising certain nouns midway in a sentence.

Thanks, talk to !dave 19:12, 5 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

More on style and formatting

Proposed deletion of Jacob Bawiine Boon

edit

The article Jacob Bawiine Boon has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
