Messada RV

I saw that your edits were in good spirit, however, not very helpful. The pronunciation in Hebrew is Mitsada or Mitzada, not Metzada. The second edit made the grammar incorrect. Your efforts are appreciated though. If you want to help expand the Israel Collaboration of the Week, that would be great. Please look at the WikiProject Israel page to find more of what needs to be done. --יהושועEric 21:45, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

ok. I still think I'm right on both counts, but won't argue. Happy138 22:07, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

RBS

I don't see any discussion anywhere. Not on Talk:Bet Shemesh and not on Talk:Ramat Beit Shemesh (which doesn't even exist). What I see is a 'merge' without any discussion, by users who don't even have a user page. A merge that was done in a highly unprofessional manner, by simply copy-pasting the text. You basically, in rough English, completely screwed up the Bet Shemesh article with this 'merge'. I see no reason for such a merge. RBS has about 20,000 inhabitants and is inherently different from Beit Shemesh. For example, BS is home to a pork slaughtering plant R"L, while RBS is home to Neturei Karta. The differences between the main city of Beit Shemesh and the area known as RBS (and the few small chareidi areas of BS) is huge. --Bear and Dragon 22:07, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Hermione Edit

I wasn't going to slap a cn tag on your edit, Hap. Could you cite a reference for that, pls? - Arcayne (cast a spell) 17:32, 5 August 2007 (UTC) (and btw, how are you doing? :) )

I am doing well, thank you. (Do we know each other?). The reference is right at the end of POA (page 314 in the Canadian edition). Hermione says that she decided to drop Muggle Studies and Ron asks "But you passed your exam with 320%!". Happy138 18:36, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Since you are aware of these rabbis I would suggest that you research the matter prior to deleting these great rabbis of the 20th century. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.129.97.254 (talk) 20:33, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

I've taken a look at the information in the links above and analysed them against the requirements of WP:RS & WP:NOTE
  1. Rabbi Y Kerzner. Link is to a website that would pass as a reliable source - reputable Jewish organisation. Content proves that Rabbi Kerzner exists, that he is the Chair of an organisation and that he has valid concerns about mass-produced food being properly kosher. I struggle to see any notability there. Passes WP:RS Fails WP:NOTE
  2. Rabbi Baruch Taub. Link is to another Wikipedia pages - Wikipedia is not supposed to be self-referential so this is a problem to start with. Taub is mentioned as the Rabbi of a Toronto Synagogue although he is not mentioned on the webpage given as the source for the paragraph in which his name appears. Fails WP:RS Fails WP:NOTE
  3. Rabbi Dovid Schochet. Link is to the Jewish News Weekly of Northern California which is a reliable source. Content is an article in which Schochet is quoted once and described as the head of the Lubavitch movement in Toronto but no mention of anything notable. Passes WP:RS Fails WP:NOTE
These three men are undoubtably fine rabbis but the above links give no indication of why they are any more notable than the many thousand other fine rabbis across the globe and a prerequisite for inclusion in the List of rabbis is notability. In my opinion the sources prove that the edits in question are factually correct (which I don't think that anyone was disputing) but do not in anyway justify their inclusion. nancy (talk) 21:37, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
I included these people because they are at least as notable of many other on the list. The only issue I think you have is that they were recently added. However these people are all known world wide as experts in their areas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rumusnia (talkcontribs) 16:20, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
It may be true that these gentlemen are "known world-wide" but until there are sources to back up these claims then they remain unverified and any editor would be within their rights to remove the names from the list. One thing thing that you may have noticed is that the other rabbis on the list all have their own wikipedia pages which is a good indication of notability. Kind regards, nancy (talk) 16:39, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Nancy - not true .. if you check the reform rabbis of the 20th century you'll see that half of them at least don't have pages associated with them either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rumusnia (talkcontribs) 17:17, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
So remove them already. ;) nancy (talk) 19:51, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I don't think that would be the correct response. I give the authors the benefit of the doubt that the people listed SHOULD be listed and I certainly wouldn't challenge them. There has to be a balance. We can see in our world today what happens when a group feel they are right and everyone else is wrong. Not pleasant! Rumusnia (talk) 20:05, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

MLB Active Players

The rule of thumb is usually to check MLB.com's historical stats list, available here. Players that MLB considers active are marked with an asterisk on this list. This isn't always exactly right, however, since that list seems to define "active" as "has not officially retired yet." There was one player, maybe Derek Bell but I don't remember exactly, who was marked as active on that list for a couple years without having played.

Relatedly, I reverted the Mike Lieberthal change on the Top 500 List because of the note at the top of the page stating, "Players in bold face (89 total) were active during the 2007 season". I'm assuming that one of the regular users will change this to 2008 and check against the MLB.com list when the season starts. I don't think we should update to 2008 before then, as we may still see retirements before the end of the month. Jpers36 (talk) 20:11, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. I agree with you. I also reverted a similar edit a few days ago. Shawn Green has just retired too. Happy138 (talk) 21:55, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Jerusalem bulldozer attack

Re your edit here: Do you have a source for the age and the court injunction info? Haaretz says he's 18 years old, and this online article does in fact publish his name, as I just noticed. Everyme (was Dorftrottel) (talk) 13:35, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello, other than Hebrew sources and broadcasts in Israeli Radio - here it says he asked not to be names. here the court order is mentioned. and the 3rd victim's last is Relevy. See www.israelnationalnews.com Happy138 (talk) 15:17, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, apparently the court order has been lifted or violated, since his name appeared at least here and here. At the article talk page, you claimed it was the incorrect name. Do you have a source for that? Or did you refer to something like this, where "Plesser" is mentioned as an alternative spelling to Klessner? Everyme (was Dorftrottel) (talk) 16:52, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Please include sources for edits, esp. when there are sources to the contrary, like with this edit. The Associated Press article states that she had the child with him, so a source (ideally more than one) of equal or higher reliability should be presented, even if it's just on the article talk page to back up your edit. I'm saying because per the above, you've said several things (like that the soldier's name mentioned in the sources is the wrong one) without presenting a source for it. Out of personal curiousity: Do you have a source available that the child wasn't his, otherwise I have to revert to what the AP article says, as the only source on the issue currently included in the article (AFAIK). Everyme 21:58, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

I do have asource, will look in the morning. Happy138 (talk) 22:30, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Any progress on the source? user:Everyme 23:23, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes and no. My source is a professioal who works with the family and therefore cannot send the proof directly to us. He is writing to the newspaper which published the incorrect info, and will let me know when the correction is published. All the best, Happy138 (talk) 12:22, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Sounds good, looking forward to it, and thanks so far. user:Everyme 18:49, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Puah institute

A tag has been placed on Puah institute, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Puah institute and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. GeneralAtrocity (talk) 13:24, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. It's being edited! Happy138 (talk) 14:30, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Tamuz (kibbutz)

Hi Happy138! I noticed that you reverted my latest editor to Tamuz (kibbutz)? What do you believe should be done? The "kibbutz" is completely non-notable, and is nothing more than a communal building. Therefore, after thinking about it for a few minutes, I decided to forego copy/paste the one line from the main article into Beit Shemesh. Why do you believe it merits inclusion into the article? Also, why didn't you raise it on talk which was open for over a month on Talk:Beit Shemesh? —Ynhockey (Talk) 20:53, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi and welcome to my talk page. I did not notice the section in the talk page. Thanks for letting me know. I think it should be mentioned in about one line in the Bet Shemesh article. Do you want to do the honors? Thanks, Happy138 (talk) 20:58, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
I added a line to the main article. It seems almost embarrassingly irrelevant though. I still don't see how this "kibbutz" has any notability whatsoever to be mentioned in any article. —Ynhockey (Talk) 22:36, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. and why not? It is there and is known in the city. Happy138 (talk) 20:31, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

List of top 500 Major League Baseball home run hitters

Why did you undo my revision? You shouldn't just go to a page an undo an edit if you don't know what the revision is. Look at Justin Morneau. He has 28 home runs this year, for 161 total for his career. Yet, he is in the middle of 3 players that have 162 for his career. I put him back where he is supposed to be, but for some unknown reason, you undid it. put it back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hsox05 (talkcontribs)

List of top 500 Major League Baseball home run hitters 3

Thanks for watching this page. I see you do a lot of reverting there. I'd personally like to asterisk the piece of %$#*& out of existence in the list altogether, but that's not what an encyclopedia is about. Not sure why I didn't just assume it was vandalism, probably all the talk about it on the talk page. I like all the editors on wikipedia who spend time monitoring and keeping the high profile areas under control. It makes it seem possible that en.wiki could become a trusted source some day. --69.225.5.183 (talk) 04:59, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Akiva Edit

Just curious how come you edited my post in R Willig's family section regarding his well dressed and good looking son Akiva. Surely you do not disagree that he is well dressed and good looking. Did you perhaps feel that this addition was not notable enough as to warrent a wiki post. I assure you Akiva Willig warrents a wiki post. But for now I will leave that for you to decide. Btw, Mazel Tov on finishing the Harry Potter series...--Dcashmoney (talk) 00:38, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi and welcome to my talk page. I agree that Akiva is indeed very well dressed and good looking, but you must agree that this should be mentioned, if at all, on his own Wikipedia article, when the time comes. Don't you think so? All the best, Happy138 (talk) 11:11, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
