Hello, I'm DVdm. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Religious and philosophical views of Albert Einstein, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. DVdm (talk) 12:03, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello DVdm. Thank you for your message. I did provide a reference. Now, the reason I edited and inserted the word religious was because there have been a number of quotes of Einstein which give the impression that he did indeed believe in a God that created the universe. I didnt want to write ALL the quotes (they are from different books, written by friends on Einsteins) and their individual references. So I just included 1 source that references ALL the quotes. The link I inserted as reference was: Does Einstein Believe In God - If you see, if gives the quotes such as “My God created laws… His universe is not ruled by wishful thinking but by immutable laws.” and its referenced (from Max Jammer's book “Einstein and Religion: Physics and Theology”).

Now, since the topic is Religious and philosophical views of Albert Einstein, I do think all such quotes deserve a mention. Should we individually add all of them and reference each one or, like I did, just reference it once?? I am sure you can tell I am not an expert in editing on Wikipedia.

Regards

@Hdaackda: If you check our policy on wp:verifiable sources, you will find that this particular source does not qualify for Wikipedia. It is a blog, holding someone's personal opinion. Anyone can write anything on a personal blog. Wikipedia needs wp:secondary sources. The best thing you can do, is to go to the article talk page Talk:Religious and philosophical views of Albert Einstein and open a new section (at the bottom) explaining what you would like to do. But make sure you have some solid sources (with page ISBN numbers and page numbers and such) at hand to support your proposal, as a personal website such as this certainly will not do. - DVdm (talk) 20:41, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@DVdm: thanks! Heading on to the talk page right now :)

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Visa Inc.. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Stesmo (talk) 07:50, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:DGLD

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:DGLD requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://dailynewsfinancials.com/?p=247140. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Making minor changes, as you did, results in Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing, still a violation of copyright policy. S Philbrick(Talk) 13:44, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
