Happy New Year, Hmlarson! In Japan, All-Japan Womwn's Youth (U-22) Championship is being held in Osaka since yesterday. The wind is blowing hard & it's so cold, but many a young player shows their technique & fighting spirit. I'll take photos & upload on Wikimedia Commons if possible.
There is a sad report that the popularity of women's foot is becoming smaller & smaller in Japan, but I hope that more and more people could get a chance to come and watch the matches, and care about the clubs and players. Thank you and best regards :) --Ohtani tanya (talk) 02:19, 4 January 2014 (UTC) (My talk page in JAWP)

Undeleting player articles who were NWSL Draft Picks
I tried contacting the administrator who had deleted the pages for Maya Hayes, Kealia Ohai, and Vanessa DiBernardo (see the discussion here), and he suggested to "ask the Football project how they prefer to handle this". New page help
Hello...... extremely new user. I was told you can assist with creating a wiki page for a US Womens soccer player. Was not drafted but will be playing in Australia. Much documented on line from University of Michigan, and prior news articles, Tori McCombs is her name. You created Haley Kopemeyer last year. Let me know or thanks in advance. (User talk:thesoccerphantom/talk) 15:12, 29 January 2014
- @Thesoccerphantom: Which team is she playing for in Australia? Hmlarson (talk) 21:29, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
- reply to Hmlarson.. Can not disclose. Negotiating there and in Europe. Will know soon. She is a relative. (User talk:thesoccerphantom/talk) 15:53, 29 January 2014
- @Thesoccerphantom: We'll need to wait until she is signed and plays per Wikipedia's notability criteria (see: WP:GNG and WP:FOOTYN), but we could draft the article before publishing to the main article space on wikipedia so it's ready to go. Would you like me to create a template in your userspace that you could work on building the content of the article on? Hmlarson (talk) 22:00, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
- I think that might be a good start that I can tinker with to get documented information down and build something presentable. It will most likely need professional help.... We can wait until a deal is struck for other content. Thanks for the invites also. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thesoccerphantom (talk • contribs) 22:25, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
- @Thesoccerphantom: I created a template here: User:Thesoccerphantom/Tori and placed a shortcut on your userpage. Feel free to ask any questions as you build the content on either my talk page or here for the group. Hmlarson (talk) 22:38, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Sydney Leroux
Hi Hmlarson, just to let you know that Sydney Leroux is eligible for WP:DYK as a newly-promoted GA, as long as it is nominated within five days of its promotion (by 8 February). Article assistance
Hey. I know goalball is not your sport, but I'm slow motion working on all the articles in this category. At the moment, I am stuffing the history of the team's competition and scoring history into the articles. (Hence the prose is kind of crappy.) Once done, I plan go back, find filler information about player backgrounds, background details on the team history, etc. I'd like to get the whole pile up to B status (possibly GA) in the next few months. If you have time, can you keep an eye on them and fact check them to make sure the sources and text match? Fix any obvious typos? That would be really helpful. Thanks. --LauraHale (talk) 18:36, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
- Wow, excellent work! I've added the articles to my watchlist, but most likely will not have time to fact check. Perhaps Peer review could help with that when you're ready. Is there an existing project or taskforce for Paralympic sport? Any chance you are connected to CC offline? Hmlarson (talk) 18:51, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Abby Wambach GA
Belatedly, I wanted to congratulate on your successful Good Article nomination of the Abby Wambach article. As a three-time graduate of the University of Florida, she is a subject near and dear to my heart -- a subject that was clearly deserving of the hard work that you so obviously dedicated to improving the article. I have been mostly inactive over the past year, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover the vastly improved content of Abby's article. I wish I had been around to help! Cheers. Assistance with Rachel Anderson
You very kindly agreed to comment on my proposal re Rachel. Below is my first draft of the section I propose to put into the PFA article.
- ==Sexism Controversy==
- In 1997 some Sheffield United players invited their agent, Rachel Anderson, to the annual awards dinner(ref). Anderson was turned away by then PFA vice-chair(? - check job title) Brendon Baxton (? - spelling) because she is a woman.(ref)
- The following year when West Ham United F.C. player Julian Dicks invited Anderson(ref) to attend the dinner, Anderson contacted the PFA to find out what their reaction would be(ref). Upon receiving a response that she would indeed be banned, Anderson decided to go public and take the PFA to court.(ref) As a result the Minister for Sport, Tony Banks, and the General Secretary (? - check job title) of the Football Association, Graham Kelly (?spelling) boycotted the event(ref).
- Anderson won in court and the financial cost to the PFA was considerable (find amount and breakdown).(ref)
- Sixteen years later the PFA instituted an award for the PFA Women's Players' Player of the Year(ref). Kim Little was the recipient in its first year.(ref)
Obviously I will find the references and check the various job titles and spellings as well as the financial cost to the PFA. Thank you once again for your assistance. Wilmot1 (talk) 06:52, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

USWNT U-17
United States women's national under-17 soccer team
Hmlarson, you appear to be one of the more reliable and experienced editors of women's soccer/football material on Wikipedia, so I'm hoping you'll be able to guide me through some trouble I'm having keeping the USWNT U-17 page accurate. A user, Markofwalburgh, has been continually editing the roster of the team to include a 'Marisol Guerrero' in place of various players, despite my (and other) attempts to keep the roster listed as it is by US Soccer. After several times reverting the edits, I posted the following on their 'talk' page, but do not know what to do about getting them to stop or cite their changes if they do not cede to my request. Please advise.
In regards to your recent edits replacing Gabriella Carreiro with Marisol Guerrero on the team, you need to cite your source if we are to accept it. Also, due to the lack of media attention to the U-17 receives and the relatively few number of matches they play, the Wikipedia page doesn't update the roster for every camp they have and typically has left the listed roster from the previous World Cup or CONCACAF Championship tournament, which is why many of the names listed are not currently on the team as they have presumably moved up to the U-20 level. US Soccer lists in several locations that Gabriella Carreiro was on that roster and that Marisol Guerrero was not.[1]
If you would like to keep the roster current, please feel free to do so responsibly. US Soccer gives the roster for a tournament about a month ago; however, it does not list Marisol Guerrero on it[2] and neither does the camp invites listed back in January[3] or June.[4] If you have a credible source that says otherwise, please share it.
Thank you for the help. - Golfingwino (talk · contribs)

- @Golfingwino: If the edit warring continues with unsourced edits, you may want to seek assistance from a productive-minded admin familiar with football articles like @The Rambling Man:. The editor you mentioned appears to be very new and only contributing to the U-17 article. Hmlarson (talk) 17:05, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
