Halloween 2

edit

First, even if the production has started, the film still fails the notability guideline for future films. Specifically, if a film has not been released, then the production itself must be notable. Since there is no information on the actual production to actually classify as being notable, the film does not warrant a page. Secondly, the official title of said film has not been confirmed, thus any title for the page would be hard to determine given that it is currently going by 3 or 4 different titles depending on who is writing about it. Once there is information on the actual production, we will need to assess whether there is enough information to actually warrant splitting to a new article. In other words, when that time comes it is something that should be discussed at Talk: Halloween (franchise).  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:14, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Having a poster does make a movie notable. As I said, please see WP:NFF. As for "going to great lengths to see the page up", what I see is a page that does nothing but copy what is already on other pages. So, if "great lengths" means you copied and pasted from another page, then you're in for some demanding work when the real research has to be done on the article.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:16, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
IMDb is not a reliable source of information. Secondly, I have yet to actually see a source that says production has even started, let alone that it is "well under way". Do not confuse the development of the film with the production of the film. There is a difference.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:18, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry, but it actually is not. Not only does it fail the criteria for a reliable source (because it contains user submitted information), but it is in fact often wrong. IMDb is not allowed as a source. If you disagree, or just don't believe me, you can ask the film community at WP:FILM. I'm sure you'll find that it is widely accepted that IMDb (even though some editors attempt to use it) is not considered a reliable source.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:21, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've left a message at WP:FILM about this issue, but I'm not going to revert the page again today. You have already reached your three reverts for a 24 hour period on this article. I'm only going to warn you that should you revert a fourth time, then you will be in violation of the 3-revert rule policy and could be subject to a 24-hour block. So, it would be wise to either discuss the matter at WP:FILM or at Halloween (franchise). As for the film page itself. I believe that it currently fails WP:NFF and have left a message on the film community talk page requesting additional input on the subject matter.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:29, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have to concur with Bignole about this. The film industry is pretty notorious for attempting many films and only succeeding with a few, even with franchises. Look how long it took for Superman and Batman to come back. If you look at the future films department's content, it's encouraged to merge content to a broader article until it is verified for filming to have begun. Examples include Logan's Run (2010 film), Shantaram (film), Spider-Man 4, Jurassic Park IV, Magneto (film), etc. Just have some patience until it is shown that filming will begin without disruption, and a whole article can be created. —Erik (talkcontrib) 02:31, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the "warning". I must first address no personal attacks. Second of all, I personally do not have the power nor authority to block you, but if you continue, you will be reported. At least two editors have showed you why the page continues to be reverted, yet you seem to only think you're right. Also, you provide no real sources for the multitude of information you claim is correct. If you can provide reliable, third party sources which pass the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia, I will be more than happy to materialize the page myself. But none has become available enough to warrant its own page. That is the only reason we have continuously reverted your work. I apologize if you are discouraged by Wikipedia, and invite you to coninue editing, but only by following the guidelines and policies. Please see the Wikipedia:Help desk for more information. --HELLØ ŦHERE 02:49, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I never said I would block you myself. You are obviously mistaken. But, as I, and others have said, you are violating policies and guidelines, which we have for a reason. And by violating those, you can, and eventually will, be reported to an admin and possibly blocked. --HELLØ ŦHERE 02:54, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
"Other pages exist" is not a proper way to conduct Wikipedia. And you are now changing your statements, as you originally said that it was already in production, yet now, you're saying it will begin production. But, overall, I am not going to continue to "argue" the points which have been layed out to you numerous times. --HELLØ ŦHERE 02:57, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Forgive me for saying this man but "...you will be blocked" is a threat you made. Look back at your own words, and it's quite plain. And I have violated NO "guidelines or policies" of any kind, other than creating a page for a legitimate film. Sorry but you and I will have to agree to disagree there. As I said, I would recommend you quit harassing me or it is I that will be doing the reporting. Horrorfan78 (talk) 02:57, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
"you Will be blocked" is much different than "I will block you". And, as shown by at least two other editors, you have violated policies and guidelines. Once again, I am not going to continue to argue. --HELLØ ŦHERE 02:59, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I don't give a care how you said it, you still made the threat and implied you were going to do it yourself, so I'm afraid you won't weasel your way out of that one. And by making statements like that knowing you don't hold that power can get you into trouble, and as I said, I would recommend you quit your false accusations which have no truth to them whatsoever (I have violated no rules or regulations, so please quit the BS) and move on down the road before I do decide to take it to a real admin that actually does have blocking power on harassment charges.
