Slow down

edit

You need to slow down and take more care when adding images - rapid fire addition of images is helpful to no one and does not improve articles. Images should be representative of the subject, clear and useful. Not low quality, focused on one aspect when it is an article about a region, locality etc...further. this is obviously not representative of anything. PICKLEDICAE🥒 20:34, 30 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

And at Christopher Lake, which is a village, you added a picture of a lake. I'm also cautioning you to slow down. Please take a moment to read MOS:IMAGES. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:18, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
And at Argyle Lake State Park, can you figure out why the photo you added isn't showing? Did you even look at your edit after you made it? Magnolia677 (talk) 20:23, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
And at Lake Way, which is a dry saline in Australia, you added a picture of Eibsee, a lake in Germany. — AdrianHObradors (talk) 20:24, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
And at Budd Lake (Michigan), you added a low-quality image (it's too dark). But the editor who took the photo is still active. Why not write the editor and ask if you can brighten their photo? Wouldn't that be better? Magnolia677 (talk) 20:26, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@ISAAC CARES if you continue adding photos without addressing the massive issues you've caused, I will be requesting a block. This is out of control. PICKLEDICAE🥒 20:39, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your review. I want to sincerely apologize for not being sensitive to the things you mentioned. For Christopher lake and Lake Way there was a mixup there. And I am really sorry. For Argyle Lake State Park, I saw the image of the lake but there was no where to add it in the source code. I added Image_skyline in the info box but to my surprise the image didn't come up. I also took notice of it. I will be more cautious next time. ISAAC CARES (talk) 21:08, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

That isn't even close to the only issue, for example, this which is utter nonsense and shows you're being completely careless with no care about quality, just quantity. PICKLEDICAE🥒 21:12, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Yinka Shonibare. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Please stop linking common words and countries and have a look at MOS:OVERLINK, thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:ISAAC CARES

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:ISAAC CARES, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Bbb23 (talk) 15:19, 22 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Bbb23, can you have another look at this block? I don't understand why this editor was blocked for the reason given. I don't see any evidence that they've tried to promote anything called "ISAAC CARES"? Is it because of Draft:ISAAC CARES? This isn't about something named ISAAC CARES as far as I can tell; I assume the title was an error from moving it from the userpage to draftspace. -- asilvering (talk) 00:16, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Asilvering: I agree that the block rationale is partly wrong. No username violation. However, I oppose an unblock. Besides the draft that was deleted, the user created other promotional pages. Finally, when glancing at the user's edits, most of them are violations of WP:OLINK, and others are disruptive in other ways. I don't think the user is sufficiently competent to edit here.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:44, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, @ISAAC CARES, it looks like you don't have any need to change your username, and you can keep the one you've got if you like. For the article you tried to create on Templars Law, you might be right that it would be a good fit for a Wikipedia article, but your draft looked promotional and didn't have many references. It also looks like it was written by an AI chatbot - did you use an AI to draft it? -- asilvering (talk) 01:21, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for reaching out. I wrote the article with a bit of help from chatgpt. Apologies for that ISAAC CARES (talk) 15:20, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, my suggestion is that if you're unblocked, you don't use ChatGPT or some other AI at all. There are a lot of reasons for this, but one of them is WP:BACKWARD and another is that it will always come out promotional-feeling. ChatGPT is trained to be weirdly perky about everything, and it will just freely make up things that aren't true, so it's pretty useless for writing wikipedia articles.
If you wanted to make an article on Templars that wasn't promotional, you'd have to start from good, independent sources. Have a look at WP:RS. Can you find any of those? -- asilvering (talk) 20:07, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes I can thank you so kindly @Asilvering. All you have said is well noted. I will surely do better next time. I am grateful ISAAC CARES (talk) 21:19, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for the ambiguity. The "Can you find any of those?" wasn't rhetorical. It's more like a test. It's ok to fail the test - you don't need to get it right on the first try. But we'll want to see that you understand the guidelines before unblocking you. Happy to help you through it. -- asilvering (talk) 21:47, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
