Creating an AfD

edit

When you nominate an article for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, you need to include a clear policy-based reason why the article should be deleted. You should return to each AfD nomination that you created and explain why you think the article should be deleted. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 06:44, 21 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Signing comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion

edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Matt Bishop, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( Eastmain (talkcontribs) 04:06, 27 June 2018 (UTC) ) at the end of your comment, orReply
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 06:58, 21 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like you to assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not do on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Longhair\talk 01:19, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I nominated the page for deletion as it was clearly made for self promotion rather than something that should be included in an encyclopedia. Iamricednous (talk) 01:21, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
That's your opinion and now the community gets to have a say. You also had the opinion the Sydney Morning Herald and SBS were small time local publications so may I politely suggest you've been wrong before. My note here was not about the article up for deletion you've nominated, but your behaviour towards others here. -- Longhair\talk 01:24, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kevin Healey

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kevin Healey requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. This is my first time using Wikipedia the way people are questioning me is considered as bullying. You and many others are showing a lot of personal interest towards the subject and are forgetting Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a self promoting platform. The article looks clearly promotional and must have paid editors to create it thus me creating an AfD. Iamricednous (talk) 02:21, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
