D&D Alignment

edit

I reverted your revert on D&D. The reason is that the two axis alignment section wasn't properly represented as it was. If you think I'm wrong I set up a talk section called Alignment on talk D&D where you can explain your reason. If I'm wrong you can then change it back. Thanks! There is a content dispute in the talk page of the above article. The second- and third-last sections are currently active for discussion. Italian names of instruments

edit

In the orchestral world, the Italian names of instruments have special significance, because traditionally a score is noted only with the Italian name of the instrument. It's not universal any more, but it's still very likely that when you pick up a sheet of music, the name of the instrument will be in Italian. That's my reasoning that it's important enough for a separate line at the top of the infobox. Acsenray (talk) 14:20, 28 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ah, sorry about that then! - IanCheesman (talk) 17:30, 28 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Translation of Kemetic Orthodoxy Pages

edit

Though I'm flattered by your request to translate the Kemetic Orthodoxy and Tamara Siuda pages into French, this would take too much effort on my part to produce in a reasonable amount of time. I'm afraid I'm much better at translating French to English. I have a lot of things in meatspace on my plate right now.Cnadolski (talk) 02:10, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

D&D articles for Wikipedia 0.7

Hi there!  :)

As someone who's worked on D&D and/or RPG articles before, I'm inviting you to participate in our goal to both improve articles that have been selected to be placed in the next Wikipedia DVD release, as well as nominate more to be selected for this project. Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms

edit

Hello. :) If you hadn't heard, Gary Gygax and Wizards of the Coast have recently been promoted to "Good Article" status. I was also thinking of nominating Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms, and I figured I'd contact you since you've done some work on at least one of those. See the project talk page for discussion on that. BOZ (talk) 20:22, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

You have asked a long time ago for an assessment at Wikiproject Egypt of these two articles. I'm very sorry that no one answered u back than but now that I'm here I will address the assessment.

In General we can't give any article GA status. This is done by a Good article nomination. Our highest rank can be B-class.

B-class criteria: More detailed criteria

  1. The article is suitably referenced, with inline citations where necessary.
It has reliable sources, and any important or controversial material which is likely to be challenged is cited. The use of citation templates such as {{cite web}} is not required, but the use of <ref></ref> tags is encouraged.
  2. The article reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain obvious omissions or inaccuracies.
It contains a large proportion of the material necessary for an A-Class article, although some sections may need expansion, and some less important topics may be missing.
  3. The article has a defined structure.
Content should be organized into groups of related material, including a lead section and all the sections that can reasonably be included in an article of its kind.
  4. The article is reasonably well-written.
The prose contains no major grammatical errors and flows sensibly, but it certainly need not be "brilliant". The Manual of Style need not be followed rigorously.
  5. The article contains supporting materials where appropriate.
Illustrations are encouraged, though not required. Diagrams and an infobox etc. should be included where they are relevant and useful to the content.
  6. The article presents its content in an appropriately accessible way.
It is written with as broad an audience in mind as possible. Although Wikipedia is more than just a general encyclopedia, the article should not assume unnecessary technical background and technical terms should be explained or avoided where possible.
  1. You need to add citation templates {{cite web}} and there are some missing citations.
  2. Expansion of the article is necessary.
  3. Lead is too short.
  4. Your prose is great. Y
  5. The artice needs an {{Infobox Biography}} and a picture
  6. It's still short but techincals are ok.  Y

It's better but:

  1. You need to add citation templates {{cite web}} and there are some missing citations
  2. The article is resourceful Y
  3. Lead is too short.
  4. Your prose is great. Y
  5. The artice needs an {{Infobox Biography}} and more pictures
  6.  Y

Naming/content of Role-playing game

edit

Hi, I see from your previous posts that you have an interest in the naming/content of Role-playing game. That article currently describes tabletop roleplaying games, with other forms of roleplaying such as video RPGs and LARP described as a variety of tabletop game. Based on the comments on the talk page, it seems that many users are surprised to find that the article Role-playing game is about tabletop role-playing games.

I have made a proposal that in order to meet the WP:NAME policy that article should describe all activities commonly described as role-playing games on an equal footing, and that a new article Tabletop role-playing game should be created to describe tabletop roleplaying games. If you have the time I'd be grateful if you could give your opinion on my proposal at Talk:Role-playing game. Ryan Paddy (talk) 23:19, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I'm The Arbiter, one of the coordinators for WikiProject Zoo. I am proud to announce the launch of a new portal: Portal:Zoos and Aquariums! ZooPro, ZooFari, and I worked hard to create a new portal for information on zoos, aquariums, and the associated projects and articles on Wikipedia. If you could head on over, take a look at our work, and maybe learn some more about zoos and Wikiproject Zoo, it would be great! Cheers and Happy Editing!

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:19, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invite to the African Destubathon

edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 55 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African wildlife articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance. If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing any article related to a topic you often work on, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Might be a good way to work on fleshing out articles you've long been meaning to target and get rewarded for it! Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:55, 13 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
