Starting an article offline

There are Wikipedia editors who prefer to begin writing a new article "offline" using a text editor on their own local device prior to posting the content to Wikipedia.

In a nutshell, the article construction stages would follow this path:

• Write new article content offline.
• Post article into Userspace draft and improve.
• If you need help, ask at the Teahouse or Help desk.
• Submit your work to Articles for creation where your userspace draft is moved into draftspace for further review.
• Continue improving the draft article until it can be moved to Wikipedia's mainspace.

Question regarding expanding an existing article

Dear Ignazio,

Our task is to add a new section to an existing article (Spatial Anxiety: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Spatial_anxiety&oldid=1150613545). Should I copy the whole article into my sandbox and add our new section, or should I just copy the permalink at the top and then add our new section?
