Like a Prayer help

Hello IndianBio how are you? I come here asking for your help, as you know I recently got done working on a Like a Prayer sandbox and I just expand the original article with info from that sandbox, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind going over that expansion (particularly the sources' format), feel free to add/remove whatever you feel necessary. That is my favorite Madonna album and I would really like to help become a Good Article candidate. Thank you! --Chrishm21 (talk) 23:39, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Dont let other projects tell you what you can and cant do when they dont have community consensus to omit just one kind of article ...see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers section called "Filmography in {{Mado....." note how no one can point to a policy of guidelines stating there POV is correct in any manner.... as per WP:Advice pages. Simply impossible to have just one type of article not allowed in navboxes. Non content editors dont care about information only about what things look like.-- Moxy (talk) 15:52, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

Moxy a great many thanks for pointing it out to me. I have reverted my removal of the fimography from {{Madonna}}. I hope so to do it from other templates where it has been erroneously removed as well. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 16:28, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
As a participant of Wikipedia:WikiProject Council for almost a decade I see this from time to time ...that is one project telling all others what they can and cant do despite no formally approved by the community through the WP:PROPOSAL process. It fine if they would like not to have navboxes devoted to films for there project....but in no way can they tell other projects not to link a movie or two in every template. Not possible to have just one type or article excluded from all templates. -- Moxy (talk) 16:39, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
Agreed. And well it just goes on to show me how much I don;t know, I didn't have any clue about the Council project also. And it makes sense that one can't force another project to go through the same cycles if its not a pillar policy of Wikipedia. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 16:46, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
I guess we are seeing Rob Sinden true colors "edit warrior" is what we are going to have to deal with. I am not sure why after being shown our policies on the fact that what to include is determined per navbox and we are to tlak about it they just keep reverting. Its hard to move forward when template editors think they know wants best for articles written by other projects. In the end the guy is in a losing battle...random editors will see the omissions all over and fix them over time. I have talked to a few people about this and most think a RfC may be the best way forward...the film project needs to understand they dont have formally approved that movies will never be seen in navboxes. If you like you can comment at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers section called "Filmography in {{Madonna}}" for some reason the direct link to that conversation does not work.-- Moxy (talk) 18:12, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks Moxy, I commented. And I request SNUGGUMS for his input as well. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 18:23, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
Rob seems to think it's undue weight to have only some stars have navboxes in film articles, though the navboxes don't necessarily have to be included on such articles. His actions seem to be verging on WP:POINT (assuming they haven't already become so). For what it's worth, there are also politicians such as Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger who ventured into film careers, and I've have nothing against including their movies within navboxes. I suggest readdressing the subject via the talk page Moxy linked. Snuggums (talk / edits) 18:28, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
Lo, yes Snugs, I meant the talk page only, not here obviously. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 18:33, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

Best selling songs in the United States

Hello IndianBio, I don't understand why you reverted my edit. Aren't sales supposed to have a source? I saw that a lot of song sales aren't reported in their respective sources, so that is why I changed some sales to the ones reported on cite webs. Jose.rms (talk) 18:51, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

....Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Project advice for no movies in navboxes -- Moxy (talk) 16:39, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi Moxy the ANI seems to have been closed by the time I went to comment at it. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 08:57, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
I guess I did not word that properly ..someone said its a content dispute....it about one editor Rob involved in edit wars all over. I got a nice email that pointed something out....if you were to look at older templates he has edited....in many cases the info just gets put back. As the email said one editor will never be-able to keep up with the thousands of others that just add the link back in time. Some people just dont understand how they are a problem for the project....at least hes not a content editor..only messing with templates. The people at Avril Lavigne are not going to be happy...hope they dont freak out on him....there navboxes was decided by RfC a few years ago with an admin close......another fight is coming when they notice. -- Moxy (talk) 16:10, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Barbra Streisand's records sale

Hello. I'm sorry for interrupting, but I just want to find someone who could help me with 1 question. In the List of best-selling music artists article it is written Barbra has sold over 145 million records worldwide (and there was talked thread of 245 million figure in the article's discussion, as I've understood finalised by temporary dissent from change included in the article informations). Meanwhile, there was running little edit war in the Barbra Streisand article (switching 145/245 in turns), finalised by semi-protect the article (permanently it is written in the article she's sold 145 million records as it was written previously in the list). And finally, this time there was re-starting edit war in the article Barbra Streisand discography, concluded by adding sources (that was already undermined in the discussion as not reliable and temporarily not suitable to add) claiming 245 million figure, next to (cited in the same statement) source that claims 145 million number (should it be correct to 145 million at least until possible re-activating topic "if/when consensus is reached"?). So there is now internal contradiction between informations included in the 3 different articles talking about the very same question. Pls could You help me understand which information should be used as reliable, because I want to use it (of course, I don't want to inflate or understate Streisand's sales number:) Thank You in advance for answer (sorry for bothering You but I know You're reliable and knowledgeable person so I decide to ask;), thank You for "welcome" words and greetings. :) NS Talk 23:20, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Issuing "block" warnings

Let me just remind you that threatening to block another user (or any user for that matter) for exaggerated and often false reasons is overly pretentious and can be reported to higher administrators for further action as an abuse or personal attack. Diplomacy between users is highly encouraged - and changes in articles can be discussed properly. Not all unsourced edits are vandalism, false information, or disriptive editing. Review edits first before you threat users. Else, such actions can be taken to proper Wikipedia authorities. Just keep your cool, okay? We're all trying to improve the articles, and I understand that. But no threats please.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Riot kiddo (talkcontribs) 15:16, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

@Riot kiddo: you fabricated genres here in the "BadBlood" article, and you have continued to do so I can see. Take that high and mighty attitude to somewhere else, since your talk page shows how grossly you have violated policies of Wikipedia and have paid no attention to any warnings given. I will report you now for WP:AIV. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 16:03, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Wow IndianBio, great job on 'Hanky Panky'! Guess you were right about it not being ready. Vogue

As a Madonna fan can you tell me what you think about this? I personally like it (for obv reasons lol), but there seems to have a lot of hate from Madonna fans. It's obvious she is lip-syncing in this videos, but in the most of the performances Madonna lip-syncs it too. I love the performance though. — Tom(T2ME) 18:14, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Tomica I like it a lot, yeah "Vogue" is one of my favorites from Madge as well. Rihanna did it brilliantly man! —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 18:40, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Wow. So glad you like it. Indeed, along with "Like a Prayer" and "Express Yourself" it's one of my Madonna favs too. But Rihanna's version <3 ! — Tom(T2ME) 07:50, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
2008 was the year when I actually fell in love with Rihanna and GGGB: Reloaded release. "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia" were out jams. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 08:15, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
2007 was the year, 'the real Rihanna' came out of the shelter that she was in during the first 2 years of her career. And tbh, I know how iconic is Madonna and personally believe Rihanna is the "Black Madonna" and the closest thing to her, having the fact she doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks and has the guts to be edgy and try different things. — Tom(T2ME) 10:29, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Yes, glad that you also think the same. A Madonna and Rihanna collab, I don't think the world would be ready, probably snatch a lot of wigs. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 10:30, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Well, if R8 is planned to be released sometime soon -_- I would be very happy to see a collaboration! And yeah, the world wouldn't be ready, it would just slay on everything. — Tom(T2ME) 11:06, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Riri better at least give the title soon! Also, "Vogue" happens to be one of my favorite Madge songs as well, and it would kick major ass to see them make a collab!! Snuggums (talk / edits) 03:46, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
I don't know what the fuck she is doing tbh. Like FFS came out in January and now we are May. I have this ready for her and she does not want to give me title, cover or at least release date. :( LOL — Tom(T2ME) 07:04, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
She's holding out :P Snuggums (talk / edits) 07:30, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
Yeah I don't know what her problem is. The releases following FFS have been messy. None of BBHMM and AO are setting the charts alight so she would need to push R8 now. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 13:04, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
Well, surprisingly, BBBHM is doing well in the US having the fact it was not sent to pop radio and the video is yet to be released. However, AO was killed by Tidal -_- so yeah, too bad it flopped. — Tom(T2ME) 13:08, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Wasn't there a video supposed to be there for BBHMM? —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 13:11, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Yes, she shot one. Last week she responded to a fan that they are still editing it. In their press Christian Dior announced that R8 is gonna be released this month, so maybe simultaneous release. -Hopes this Monday- !!! — Tom(T2ME) 13:15, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Oh so a surprise release is it? We still don't have an article name it seems. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 13:21, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
We don't have an official name (apart R8, she used the same for Unapologetic only as R7 ofc), artwork, actual date or a track listing. So yes, I think it will be a surprise release. There was a rumor while ago that she wanted to release it on the date "Pon de Replay" (May 24) came out -hopes that's true- so the night of May 24 (Sunday) it will be perfect if we get the eight baby <3! — Tom(T2ME) 13:25, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Billboard interview with "Vogue" co-writer Shep Pettibone

Hi IndianBio! Billboard just published an interview with Madge's co-producer Shep Pettibone here. They mostly talk about where the "Vogue" song comes from. Streisand

Hi IndianBio. Could you please tell me why you repeatedly removed an edit request from Talk:List of best-selling albums? sample diff of Talk:List of best-selling albums. It looks like a valid edit request, and the two sources check out okay. Thanks, -- Diannaa (talk) 00:00, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

@Diannaa:, the user had been repeatedly responded as to why the edit request cannot be processed, and why primary sources cannot be used for asserting an album/artist's sales parameter. Please also see Talk:List of best-selling music artists. The user was blocked but came back through a different IP and started socking and edit warring on this. Again, the two sources used take content from Streisand's record label press release, which is a big no. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 04:07, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Okay I get it now. But obviously the person who is repeatedly adding it does not understand why his addition keeps getting removed. That's why he keeps re-adding it. There's more info here than be conveyed in an edit summary, but it's difficult to communicate with the user since he keeps jumping to different IPs. I don't know what the solution is. -- Diannaa (talk) 04:11, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
@Diannaa: I remember Binksternet raising an ANI thread a few days back about a bunch of Chinese IPs tag-teaming for introducing fanpedia sources and content in the Streisand articles. Maybe its related to that? —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 04:17, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Maybe, maybe not. It could be the Streisand effect!! (just kidding). Perhaps if he posts the edit request again you could explain why the sources don't work for our purposes. Then if he continues to persist after that, we will know what we are dealing with. -- Diannaa (talk) 04:22, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
@Diannaa: the IP has been explained a number of times see here, by myself, Mlpearc, Harout72 etc. If you see the history of the page the IP kept on resetting the edit request tag continuously and edit warred. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 04:27, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for patiently explaining. Your theory is probably correct then, that it was related to the Chinese IP tag-team event. Hopefully it's over. If not, I will be in a better position now to help at AIV if I see further listings there with regards to this issue. -- Diannaa (talk) 04:31, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
It's about to scroll off the page but the Chinese IP ANI thread is here: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Chinese_IPs_at_Barbra_Streisand. In case it helps. Binksternet (talk) 04:40, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Way

Is there a way to delete that nomination page? I did not expected this from Frank Boy. I think it was a delibrate attempt to put me down or somone elf gave this idea to him? I f yes then I know who he might be. Please tell how this can be deleted. I wanted to take it in one attempt. Now, all my hard work has gone into vain. I feel to stop working here.—Prashant 16:32, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Calm down, nothing happened. But actually it is really an ill-timed nomination without preparation. I don't think the moderators would delete it and I can see that you already notified Nergaal about this. Let him take a decision. But since I'm not an admin, I cannot delete the page. And don't think your hard work is wasted just because a faulty nomination was archived. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 16:40, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
How I can calm down? There was a rule to inform prior to nomination for users, who are not contributors but, this guys did not followed that rule. There was Exotic and Miss World left and I was thinking to collected refrences for Miss World 200 but this guys ruined it completely. I feel like I was......Oh my god what to do? —Prashant 16:55, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Ghosttown information

Hi IndianBio. I was reading about Madonna's "Ghosttown" and found that a remix section has been added to the entry. Very cool! Did you do this edit?

If so, I wanted to know if you could correct something. I had created and submitted my remix before the video came out. What I said about the video is that the story I had envisioned in my head was very similar to how the video was done. So I didn't use the video to create my mix.

Thanks. SimplyRedBear (talk) 11:28, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi @SimplyRedBear: are you DJ Andrews himself? Well just to let you know the source supporting the text written there says that you were inspired by the video. I would say you can contact Idolator to rectify it first. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 12:06, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

lol. Yes, I am Paul Andrews, but I'm not a DJ. Here is the article that is referenced: http://www.idolator.com/7594570/paul-andrews-madonna-ghosstown-lush-ballad-remix-listen

Here is the section from the article that mentions the video, which is actually my quote from my own webpage: "The lyric of “Ghosttown” created a story for me. In fact, the video that was made for the song was very close to what I had envisioned."

So what was written on here was not a correct interpretation. SimplyRedBear (talk) 12:11, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

Safe and Sound (Taylor Swift song)

I suggest you review the changes [1] I made in Safe and Sound (Taylor Swift song), because it seems that you are the one misrepresenting the sources. Reviewing the given sources, as well as adding more reliable sources, the genres that you removed (folk and alternative country respectively) are explicitly stated in articles from Billboard and Rolling Stone. I have included quotations from the articles to validate the genres. Riot kiddo (talk) 12:52, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

@Riot kiddo: don't try to act smart. Your original addition to the article did not have any ounce of credibility since it did not even list a source calling the song as folk. You have later added it and with a new source while trying to spew nonsense regarding your edit as usual. Care to explain this? And finally, don't respond here, I'm not interested to discuss anything with a blatant liar, everything will be infront of Administrators now. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 12:58, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

Caution on edit-warring

I fully understand the reasons for the reverts you have been making at List of awards and nominations received by Madonna, but I am also sure that an editor with your amount of experience will be aware of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Please remember, being convinced that your edits are "right" does not exempt you from that policy, and you could find yourself blocked if you continue. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 08:53, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

@JamesBWatson: I was under the impression that reverting disruptive edits which introduce blatant false information was not under 3RR? If its not then my understanding was incorrect and I am profusely sorry for since it seems I had edit warred. My deepest apologies. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 08:55, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
First of all, I was referring to edit-warring, not to the "3 revert rule". There is a surprisingly widespread idea that the two are synonymous, but they aren't. Secondly, there are various exemptions to the 3 revert rule, including reverting "obvious vandalism—edits that any well-intentioned user would agree constitute vandalism, such as page blanking and adding offensive language", but there is no way that can be construed as covering the reverts you have been making. The editor you have been reverting seems to have been editing in good faith, as far as I can see(even if he or she may be mistaken as to what is appropriate to add to the article) so that it is not vandalism. "Blatant false information" is vandalism if it is added intentionally, but however false it may be, it is not vandalism if it is added in good faith, by an editor who believes it to be true. He or she has also given sources for at least some of the content, as for example in this edit, so it does not seem that the content is "blatant false information" anyway.
As for your editing, I am 100% sure you are acting in good faith, and I really don't think that a block for edit-warring would be helpful at present, but I have blocked the other editor for personal attacks, and while doing so I thought it best to point out to both of you that you are both running the risk of a block for edit-warring. Thanks JamesBWatson, thanks for your kind reply and again my deepest apologies and I will see to it that it does not happen again. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 09:22, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

"Bitch I'm Madonna"

The article states in charted on the US Dance chart dated January 3, 2015. It will also appear on other charts after being officially released as a single. The chart title should read 2014/2015. MCMCTT (talk) 14:35, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

MCMCTT, "It will also appear on other charts after being officially released as a single" is a violation of WP:CRYSTAL policy, since noone knows whether the song will at all chart or not. As for the first statement, Billboard charts are released with an advanced date. That does not mean it charted in 2015. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 14:37, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Your annoying scolding to your revert in Madonna

Practice what you preach, baby. And you know Madonna's avarice, if you're any kind of fan, so don't erase the whole effing thing please as not all of it was on Christopher's biography. thanks--A21sauce (talk) 05:16, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

A21sauce learn to write civilly. And add back the unreliable source again, WP:AN3 is where you will find yourself, kapish? —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 05:17, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
