Speedy deletion nomination of Giuseppe Lunati
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Giuseppe Lunati requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. I reverted your edit to Philadelphia, Mississippi. You wrote: "It is best known for several incidents of racial discrimination, including the murders that led to the United States v. Price and other racially motivated killings, future President Ronald Reagan's first post-convention speech in 1980, and its high school football achievements."
My concern is that this is not entirely correct. The Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner murders did not occur in Philadelphia, it was just the site of the kidnappings; and there were no "other racially motivated killings" listed in the article. As well, Edgar Ray Killen's trial took place in another city.
Can I suggest you instead use the following: "Notable historical events include...", and just summarize the facts listed. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:07, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

editHello Isingness. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Isingness. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Isingness|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. GSS 💬 07:40, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- Ah shucks, I thought that I was adding someone that wasn't up to snuff with sources once I saw I could only find three. I took her class and thought she seemed pretty cool, I don't actually know her, just thought I could add something of value. But in the end I could only find a handful of sources. Board on a Friday night and have been really into the feminist perspective on things these days during COVID. Isingness (talk) 07:54, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

- Yeah she was complaining in class about Wikipedia and I was chatting with her as I try to write about women like myself - as I said, I don't know her personally. I did speak up after class when she did that I guess. Should I report this? If so where? I've made this mistake before, trying to help people leading classes I took. Really should stop doing that... Isingness (talk) 08:06, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- I totally see your point here though, I guess it was a conflict of interest talking to her beforehand. Just wanted to help. Isingness (talk) 08:06, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

- I think the class was two or three days ago? Really stupid mistake, you're right. I think we chatted a class before that too but I don't think she even knows my name, lol. Isingness (talk) 08:18, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- I did tell her when we chatted that I could try to help, and really shouldn't have. Isingness (talk) 08:22, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

- Okay. I told her that she shouldn't be paying for a page (as it's against the rules) and that I could try and help instead, if that helps. I can try and ask her next class more if you need to know more. Or should I just not bring it up anymore and let it be? Isingness (talk) 08:46, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Request reason:
Oh wow, a day away from Wikipedia and all this! I admit I made an honest mistake by talking to someone and then writing about them, which I admitted above beforehand. I have spoken to them since and they explained to me that they did indeed post an ad for themselves somewhere and that after I told them I could help them they had asked the person they hired to remove what they did. I also admit that when I went here to write about them I could find next to nothing as references, but felt personally pressured to try for them anyways. I've only met them a handful of times and was trying to help because I knew what they were doing (having someone write about them), and that was also a mistake. I can see that this has brought suspicion on me generally, which is sad for me as I never intended to create a problem and love to volunteer here. I have read and understood what advertising is and looked at the articles I chose to create and see that some may not have had the best sources, and am not asking for any user rights because of that. I understand why they were removed. I am willing to comply with any disclosures that are felt are necessary even if I have never been here to advertise. I love to edit though, and I am asking to be able to do so, with any restrictions you feel are necessary - I can stay away from making pages, can only use the Article for Creation wizard, or can only edit artist pages (my main area of downtime interest). I promise to edit faithfully and tinker away, and truly apologize if it is felt that I was adding pages that should not be here (I say more on this in the third paragraph). I also wanted to say that I have more than ten thousand edits on Wikipedia that show I can offer a lot to here, I have spent time fighting vandalism, reviewing new pages, fixing typos, filling out lead paragraphs, cutting down spammy material (especially on academic pages, my private pet peeve), tagging pages that didn't have enough sources, and many other things. I believe this shows a long period of participation in multiple areas over many years, so if I am restricted from making pages or only using Articles for Creation, I believe there are many areas of Wikipedia that I can help with. I apologize again and hope that I can continue being a positive part of Wikipedia, and will not ever edit a page again if I know them personally, and avoid any areas of Wikipedia where I may have even a perceived conflict of interest. I am in the fields of tech finance and design, and though I have never edited an entity I was involved in, I see I may have had a bias towards some subject matters that are important to me but maybe not as important in the rest of the world - car design, etc. If I am privileged enough to rejoin the Wikipedia community, I will also make sure to temper that bias in terms of determining what may or may not be notable. I can also stay away from these subject matters if there is a concern here as well about a potential conflict of interest. Isingness (talk) 8:49 am, 25 July 2020, Saturday (22 days ago) (UTC−4)

- I was using Facebank a lot for a project and thought I'd write a page about them, but they didn't have enough sources. When I was reading about them I came across Bafer and he seemed interesting. I have never had contact with him myself, and am not sure about his other businesses because I didn't find any in my reading about him. Isingness (talk) 17:35, 26 July 2020 (UTC)
- Do you think it was this edit that was posted? I find this to be a weird edit, but didn't see it until now. It seems like someone added all these things about Emmys and stuff, I didn't see anything about that when I was reading about him. Isingness (talk) 17:36, 26 July 2020 (UTC)

The article Biteable has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Article about a non-notable startup, created by an editor subsequently blocked for advertising and undisclosed paid editing.
Of the 11 cited sources, 9 are about raising capital, a type of news explicitly excluded as trivial by WP:CORPDEPTH. Of the remainder, ABC says "Biteable is a start-up technology company based in Hobart that was founded by three friends. It enables users to create simple videos online." The piece includes another 125 words by the CEO. This does not amount to coverage that is both significant and independent.
Journalism.co.uk is a website with news and advertorial content. Even assuming the cited article is the former, one independent source containing significant coverage is not enough. Searches of the usual Google types found only one other non-trivial, independent, reliable source, a sparse page in a list of video editors.[1] Does not meet WP:NCORP. --
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Worldbruce (talk) 05:45, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

Justin Tafa moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Justin Tafa, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Tamer Hassan (businessperson)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Tamer Hassan (businessperson) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. scope_creepTalk 15:11, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Lifestyle Holidays Group
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Lifestyle Holidays Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. scope_creepTalk 15:05, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

The article John Cuniberti has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. scope_creepTalk 13:28, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello, Isingness
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Xx236, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Steve Cutler (wrestler), for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. To prevent the deletion, please add a reference to the article. You may remove the deletion tag yourself once the article has at least one reliable source.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Xx236}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Orphaned non-free image File:CarSwap logo.png
editThanks for uploading File:CarSwap logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:08, 3 April 2023 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Robert Davi singing.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Robert Davi singing.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 10:19, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
The article Current (platform) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Doesn't seem to pass notability guidelines, website redirects to another company and I can't find any coverage of them in recent years even outside of reliable sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JaggedHamster (talk) 22:41, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
