A tag has been placed on Draft:Pendyrus Male Choir, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Draft:Pendyrus Male Choir requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.choeurs-union-europeenne.net/MaleVoiceChoir/pendyrus-male-choir. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Regarding Pendyrus Male Choir, your draft Draft:Pendyrus Male Choir may or may not be deleted due to it being copy-pasted from a copyrighted source. In any case, Wikipedia articles are poorly made by copy pasting from a single source, and especially if from a connected source. I think the choir is notable.
A better way to start drafting is to start the drafting using exclusively independent sources. Independent secondary sources, which mean that someone independent of the choir has published qualitative commentary about the choir. I suggest two connected sentences as the minimum threshold. Afterwards, use connected sources only to reliably support the facts already mentioned by the independent sources. The scope of the article must not be allowed to be defined by a connected source. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:01, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- To add to what SmokeyJoe said, I also appreciate your good-faith declaration of a potential conflict of interest with your apparent affiliation to the choir. See my comments above whereby you may be able to license the potential copyright violation content to Wikimedia Foundation, which can be refactored and rewritten by neutral editors. As well, while you are not prohibited from editing the article, you should not define the article's scope, and I would recommend submitting edit requests via the draft's talkpage, to have another editor peer review it for neutrality and objectivity. Happy editing! Doug Mehus T·C 00:06, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- As a COI editor with respect to the topic, being a member of the choir, he is welcome to edit the draft page for the article, but not edit the article when it is in mainspace. At WP:AfC, he can create his best version and see if it will be accepted. If accepted, after that, he is supposed to be limited to making editing suggestions on the article talk page. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#COI editing for details. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:19, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- SmokeyJoe, Thanks for clarifying. And he has declared the COI upfront, which goes a long way to establishing good-faith and rapport with editors. On that basis, I really see no reason for deleting this draft. If he doesn't reply in time, I'm hopeful that an administrator will just hide the revisions of the copyright-infringing content and other editors can take over in terms of defining the scope and rewriting the draft. We definitely should be giving this editor credit for creation, though. Doug Mehus T·C 00:24, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
