Jacob...
Hello Jacob..., welcome to Wikipedia!
I noticed nobody had said hi yet... Hi!
If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.
You might like some of these links and tips:
- some General guidance.
- Tutorial and the Manual of Style.
- Find out how to revert, move and merge pages.
- Sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~).
- Add yourself to the New user log and a regional notice board
- Ask questions at the Village pump or Help desk.
- Use the Show preview button
- Provide an Edit summary
- Add the correct image copyright tag to any images you upload
- Take a look at Consensus of standards
- Create a User page
If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, -- C mon 13:17, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi again
editBlanking one's talk page is considered rude.
Placing a {{nonsense}} tag on Image talk:Higherself.jpg is self-defeating - it is simply a request to delete that talk page! The correct procedure is: edit the image out of the articles that use it and put the image through the WP:IFD process. -- RHaworth 12:55, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Political Science
editI noticed that you were interested in Political science, and in the Wikipedia community. As such, you might find the following speecn rather entertaining (I know I did): http://www.archive.org/details/20060408-jscott-wikipedia

- Thank you, Hetar! I'll watch it as soon as I finished my paper on Jacques Santer. I think you might like this, then: http://webcast.oii.ox.ac.uk/?view=Webcast&ID=20050711_76 (although it's all quite introductory). Jacob 11:34, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello Jacob..., an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Uni-Leiden-seal.png) was found at the following location: User:Jacob.... This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 05:37, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Minor edit
editThis is just an informative post to let you know that your edit to Template talk:Prophets of the Tanakh that you marked as a minor edit should not have been marked as minor. It is possible that you simply accidently clicked on the minor edit box. This is not a big deal, but just wanted to be sure that you did know the difference. See Help:Minor edit Hope you are enjoying your Wikipedia experiences. Dbiel (Talk) 00:09, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Jacob...! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 659 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Thomas O'Neill (political scientist) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

The article People's politics has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable neologism or WP:OR, no sources found that would verify the content.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. January (talk) 12:41, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
