Italian school
Does "Italian school" simpliciter usually refer to the Renaissance painting? I will take your word for it. My worry was not just the alleged philosophical school, but put "Italian school" into the search bar and see how many other schools of thought are labeled Italian. From swordsmanship to criminology to philosophy to painting. I did not wish to break links; just figured with all of those that "Italian school" simpliciter should be followed by "...of what?" Cheers. Cake (talk) 23:02, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- I have no comment on this, but just an advice to have a look at Special:WhatLinksHere/Italian school before making significant changes like this. After you change a redirect to a disambiguation page, links to the old redirect may need to be changed, since per WP:INTDABLINK, certain links to disambiguation pages must be changed to a relevant location, with some exceptions. The 4 mainspace links to Italian school do not fall under this exception, unfortunately. Jalen Folf (talk) 00:46, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- I do appreciate the tip. One of those things I wondered how people looked up and despite being here a long time never figured out. Still curious why it cant be changed to, say, "Italian School (art)" like Venetian School and piped in those pages. Cake (talk) 02:00, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
Notification of AfD for Kelly Brannigan
After the restoration of content from Kelly Brannigan redirect despite the results of the last AfD, I have listed the page Kelly Brannigan at AfD again, to try to (re)determine consensus on it because the closure of the last AfD was disputed on the talk page by another user, so I figured opening another AfD would be the cleanest solution. I wanted to let you know, so you can participate as well. It's located at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kelly Brannigan (2nd nomination). Cheers! TartarTorte 18:23, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- Upon further consideration, I withdrew my nomination and just moved it back to being a redirect as you had it before and as was the consensus from the previous WP:AfD. Sorry for the inconvenience of the talk page messages. TartarTorte 18:42, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

New Page Reviewers are AFC Reviewers
Hey! I saw you removed the G6 on New Zealand Parliamentary Service under the assumption that the user making the nomination was not an AFC reviewer, considering they weren't on the list. However, a recent change to AFC rights (as in one that happened a couple of days ago) was the automatic addition of New Page Reviewers to having AFCH access. I have restored the G6 tag as such. Steve Comisar article etc…
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I am asking for help because this editing process seems really complicated to me. Adding Steve Comisar to the list of con men is very appropriate as he is very famous and notable con man. Please read his article which has many reliable references, and please Google him. You will see that he is a very notable con man which is referenced all over the internet. Would you be willing to add Comisar back to the list and use whatever references you feel are appropriate to support this addition? I would not know how to even begin to do it myself. Thank you. Undertaker6666 (talk) 03:58, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
- Lurker here. WP:BURDEN means it is up to you to supply appropriate references when adding content into articles. Saying "I would not know how to even begin to do it myself." implies a level of competency that would lead me to question whether you should be editing Wikipedia as referencing is a fundamental requirement. There is a link to "Content Policies" on your talk page. I suggest you give that some attention before considering any further edits. 10mmsocket (talk) 05:56, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
WikiFur exclusion
Hi there! An anonymous editor has suggested that you don't wish to be covered on WikiFur, which would involve personal exclusion. If this is the case, please confirm this here or via email. GreenReaper (talk) 01:44, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, I actually made this request. I recently rebranded on most social medias. However, now that you brought up what you did on my new Twitter, I no longer wish for this to be the case. Jalen Folf (talk) 01:46, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- OK! Hopefully I understand that correctly as "I don't want exclusion (right now, at least)". Moving the page is also possible if a new name would be the most appropriate title, although it is restricted to autoconfirmed users to discourage harder-to-fix vandalism. GreenReaper (talk) 01:58, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks in advance for moving the page. At a later date, I'll look into adding more information. Jalen Folf (talk) 01:59, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

Edit revision
JalenFolf - per your revision to my edit on Lt. Gen Michael J Schmidt -- I am the source of the background biographical information from his teenage years.
More pertinent biographical information would include:
1 - Graduated from Iowa State University
2 - Member of the Iowa State University Air Force ROTC program (Home • Air Force ROTC • Iowa State University (iastate.edu))
3 - Inclusion within the Notable Air Force ROTC graduates (Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps - Wikipedia) Sjurat (talk) 15:44, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- Stalker here. See WP:SPS and WP:UGC - references can't be self-published, nor user-generated as in forums. Anything that isn't from a WP:RS reliable source, that isn't WP:V verifiable is considered to be WP:OR original research and is not admissible into an article. The very fact that a new editors knows 100% what the truth is, especially when they have first hand knowledge of the truth, is one of the biggest frustrations they face. See WP:NOTTRUTH if that helps your understanding better. 10mmsocket (talk) 15:58, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

Definition of vandalism
Hi. Regarding this reversion, with the edit summary Undid revision 1163650336 by 5.151.132.67 (talk) Unsourced / vandalism
, may I please draw your attention to Wikipedia's definition of "vandalism" at WP:VAND – editing (or other behavior) deliberately intended to obstruct or defeat the project's purpose
. The policy further instructs that [even] if misguided, willfully against consensus, or disruptive, any good faith effort to improve the encyclopedia is not vandalism
. Accordingly, please be more careful to not incorrectly label edits as vandalism. Thanks. XAM2175 (T) 23:18, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
Jada Kingdom
The article about Jada Kingdom was still under construction. Is there a reason why you reverted even though the subject is notable? Heatrave (talk) 20:38, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- I do agree, the subject is notable; I have performed a WP:BEFORE before reverting and found numerous sources to back the claim. Looks like this article was created in response to recent rumors regarding the artist and Burna Boy, which would unfortunately, unless other events exist, violate WP:BLP1E. I would highly advise looking at WP:THREE, which advises picking three sources as a starter for a notability claim. Jalen Folf (talk) 20:42, 25 July 2023 (UTC)

November Articles for creation backlog drive
Hello JalenFolf:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
Please read this talk page message about how named trains are included on the LNER article, before being tempted to revert my recent edit there. --RFBailey (talk) 04:01, 7 November 2023 (UTC)

Pastorek
The issue there is that someone noticed that the random 2008 novel was hoarding the baseline title "Pastorek" and made a disambiguation page. We have little proof that the average English reader really wants to read about the novel as opposed to people named that way, or some other homonymous topics that might crop up. --Joy (talk) 09:02, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

mistake
I edited the interracial marriage article because the text I struck out was not an example of interracial marriage.
Mongols and Chinese are both the same Asiatic Mongoloid raice, that's interethnic marriage. Someone mistakenly wrote that the law made Hui intermarry with Han when that's not true.
I added a reliable source (Kenneth M. Swope book) saying that Kipchaks and Hui were excluded from the marriage law, with the Ming code explicitly saying that's because of their different racial features like blonde hair.
The Ming law is actually not promoting interracial marriage but only inter-ethnic marriage within one race.
If you're not happy about striking out, I can fix the text without hiding it.Dasfanda (talk) 19:51, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

TV series season page titles
Hello, JalenFolf,
Because of this RFC completed in March all TV series page titles that list a season have had the parentheses removed. I don't agree with this decision, I think it looks awful but on March 30th, a bot changed TV series season page titles to remove all of the existing parentheses. The exception seems to have been if the page title was for a redirect, not an article, then it wasn't corrected. But if an editor wants you to move a TV series season back to the old style, then know that at some point, it will be moved back to accommodate the new consensus on how TV series season page titles should appear. Just letting you know. Liz Read! Talk!
DRV requires that I ask you to restore the page for discussion before opening a deletion review, which will automatically restore the page for discussion anyway. Just respond that you refuse to restore the page for discussion and I can go ahead and start the DRV. Hyperbolick (talk) 19:37, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- Feel free to start the DRV. As the existing AfD established the content be merged into the main page, and despite no such merge taking place, I will opt not to restore the content and allow the DRV to take place. Jalen Folf (Bark[s]) 19:39, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- Didn't recall previous AFD so I've merged. no DRV needed. Every other show of this type has their episode list in their article, why should this one be different. Hyperbolick (talk) 19:50, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
Short descs
Hello. Is there an important reason to match descriptors in name pages with the short descriptions of those articles? I feel like an edit like this (the short description part, not the long comment) reduces helpful information and so I wanted to know if there was a good reason. Or should I just change the short description of Dorothy von Beroldingen? AllTheUsernamesAreInUse (talk) 23:43, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- Changing the short description to bring back said helpful information depends on whether the new text would be within the limits of WP:SDLENGTH. I will not be opposed to restoration of the helpful info if it can fit the length requirements. Additionally, templates like {{Anbl}} by default grab from this short description. Potentially helpful script
Hi, I know you fairly frequently add the long comment tag to pages in Special:ShortPages; I've recently written a little script over at User:Tollens/longCommenter.js to do so with a button rather than adding the template manually, in case you're interested. The button it adds is in the tools menu (same place as the move button, and only on article pages). As an unrelated aside, looks like you have a redlink in the editnotice for this page. Oregon Blackbears
In all due respect, did you read yesterday’s (May 28) AFL press release? I included it as a reference with my article change. There is no better official source as the AFL themselves. https://www.theafl.com/news/arena-football-league-afl-appoints-new-president-c ” We are excited about what we plan to bring to the American public, this season and beyond.” Looking ahead, the AFL will continue to operate as a 9-team league, featuring the following teams: Albany Firebirds Billings Outlaws Nashville Kats Orlando Predators Salina Liberty SW Kansas Storm Washington Wolfpack West Texas Desert Hawks Wichita Regulators” No Blackbears mentioned. Not here or anywhere on the website except one scheduled game. They were listed among the teams last week. Heck, the VooDoo (June 13) and Force (June 22) have games still listed. This is probably the only announcement the AFL will make. After all, they were booted once, given a second chance, and then they failed to show up to a road game. They’re gone. Moving userspace pages to drafts?
Doesn't that kill them? As in -- it was previously fine to just roam for years and years, but now it has to be edited every six months or it dies forever. jp×g🗯️ 15:18, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- @JPxG: You are correct in saying this. For this specific draft, I have notified the user on their Talk page that I had the intent to do this and they were okay with it. I had the feeling this was a draft that would be in others' interests as well, and not just the user's. If it were a different draft and I didn't have this intuition, I would not have done this. Your recent editing history at 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification – AFC third round shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. G5 tagging
Please do not tag pages for G5 deletion unless a user has already been blocked. We do not G5 delete pages until an account has been blocked. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:55, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but with respect and no contest to your decision, I don't see anything in WP:G5 that says this. The user in all the cases you declined has already been reported at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/JaheimHines, and the sockmaster has already been blocked since 2022. Jalen Folf (Bark[s]) 15:15, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
- If the account is not confirmed as violating a ban or block, then the pages are not eligible. It should be clear that a pending report at SPI does not make pages eligible for G5 deletion. I bring this up because you have a history of making these sort of tags, a number of which I've removed in the past. Have some patience, wait for the accounts to actually be confirmed and blocked, and don't tag pages for G5 deletions when the SPI report is still unhandled, even if you yourself believe the evidence to be damning. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:32, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
- My suggestion:
- For active, obvious socks, report at WP:AIV. If the blocking admin doesn't handle deletion, go ahead and tag.
- For non-active, obvious socks, just tag. I mean really obvious. If User:SockyPants got blocked for creating the hoax article SockPants is King of Australia, and you notice that User:SockyPants2 re-created the same hoax article a week ago, I think most admins can see the connection fast enough that they'd action a G5. SPI would be unnecessarily slow.
- For non-active, non-obvious socks, use SPI.
