Attention request?

edit

You have placed a template in my bot approval request saying a BAG member wants me to answer a question. But I don't see a link that will take me to her/his question. How do I get there? --Smeira 03:04, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I used that template as it is the only way to get the attention of the operator. My question was posted at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/SmeiraBot asking whether you could update on this bot's trial as it was approved on the 14th June and there has been no updates from the operator in regard to the trial and whether there is any problems/errors. You can answer the question there at the bot's BRFA. E talk 05:44, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

My recent RfB

edit

Thank you so much for your participation in my recent RfB. Though it closed with 72% support (below the required 90%), I'm still quite pleased at the outpouring of support shown by a fair percentage of the community.

I'm currently tabulating and calculating all opposing and neutral arguments to help me better address the community's concerns about my abilities as a bureaucrat. If you'd like, you can follow my progress (and/or provide additional suggestions) at User:EVula/admin/RfB notes. Thanks again! EVula // talk // // 04:34, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hello, E. Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, I believe my departure at this moment is necessary for me. I am tired and have had some personal losses in the last month. This, along with the unpleasant moments I point out at my talk page, have made me take this decision. I really need to rest for a couple of months. If I feel better then, maybe I'll come back. As for your RfA, I hope to stay until it is closed. If it's successful, then congrats. If it's not, then take in consideration what the opposers said (which is not very much, as it is pretty much piling on) and try again in 2-3 moths. Happy editing! Yours sincerely, Eddie 13:22, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I too was disappointed that consensus was not reached for you to become an administrator. I hope to see you continue editing and that I can support you again in the future. Best regards, Newyorkbrad 01:55, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
:( What can I say? Have an emoticon.

You'll definitely do better next time, I'm sure of it. Until then, have this.

Sorry about your RfA. After seeing it fail, I have officially concluded that the current RfA system is, God forgive me, screwed. Please continue editing Wikipedia and solve the concerns presented by the opposition, which were, IMO, irrelevant. If you feel the need to help Wikipedia even further, go for adminship when you're ready, but I suggest you wait until a reform is implemented before requesting the mop. In the meantime, have a smile! --Boricuaeddie hábleme 14:22, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Back to the drawing board

edit

Sorry about your RfA. I had a funny feeling about that (since you were in the middle of an unfinished assignment at the VC), and I should have recommended that you not try yet. But there is a positive side to this: the RfA is valuable feedback and stress management training. (smile). By the way, I thought your nominator was going to contact me before posting so that I could co-nom. Please let me nominate you next time. I won't do so until I'm sure you (and the RfA crowd), and your conoms are ready, and keep in mind you have several coaches at the Virtual Classroom, who love to conominate their students.

I've added the VC Lessons box above for your convenience, and there is a link to your coaching page. I'll meet you there. Sincerely, The Transhumanist    18:47, 18 July 2007 (UTC) Reply

Could I get this bot to help deliver newspapers for WP:FING. If yes, give me a yell and I'll contact you when I have a newsletter ready. Thanks, Giggy UCP 05:03, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, why not. Submit a request at User:ENewsBot/Requests and I can do it through the system for you. — E talkbots 07:57, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Done - User:ENewsBot/Requests. It's not ready yet (under construction) but should be done by the end of the month. Thanks mate, Giggy UCP 23:20, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Your ENewsBot request has been   Approved. The bot will deliver August's newsletter on the last day of July, and so on (if that is correct). Bot will be looking for source location on the day of delivery, and if it doesn't look completed, it will be skipped until further notification by the contact (in this case, yourself). Thank you for choosing ENewsBot! — E talkbots 23:38, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Erm..I'd like the July issue delivered on the last day of July ;) (Wikipedia:WikiProject Powderfinger/Newsletter July 2007). Giggy UCP 23:41, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh, sorry. I did think that, but your wording on the request seems to mean the next month delivered this month. I'll fix that and change the bot now. — E talkbots 23:43, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok, well I'm not sure how this works with your bot, but you can find a list of users who will receive the newsletter at Wikipedia:WikiProject Powderfinger/Newsletter Subscription. Thanks, Giggy UCP 23:50, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
On another note, and mainly out of curiosity, how do you create a bot to perform basic tasks such as this on in AWB (I assume you use AWB, I think I saw it somewhere...)? Giggy UCP 23:52, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it uses AWB, but I create a XML code so it can read and perform the tasks in bot methods. — E talkbots 23:57, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Aah, ok. Well I finished off the newsletter (Wikipedia:WikiProject Powderfinger/Newsletter July 2007), so could you give it a test run (probably just to my talk would be best)? Thanks again for all your help! Giggy UCP 23:59, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sure, when I get the code finished, I'll give it a run. — E talkbots 00:01, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Seems ok. Thanks again, and I look forward to the end of the month! Giggy UCP 01:47, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK, it worked fine this time. Thanks! Giggy UCP 22:16, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh, by the way, is it possible to get the newsletter subst'd? Giggy UCP 04:30, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
