Request reason:
Hi Wikipedia Editors, I'm reaching out to appeal my recent block. I've been contacting some editors about a project I'm working on—an app that's about creating accurate AI representations of historical figures. While the app will have paid options later, my emails were strictly to invite expertise, not money. I only emailed about five editors a day, picking those who seemed a good fit for the project's historical scope. I see now that my approach might have come off wrong, and I'm sorry for that. I didn't mean to spam or break the rules. I'd really appreciate some advice on how to properly ask for expert input without stepping over the line. I'm here to learn and to contribute, not to cause trouble. Thanks for considering my request, and I'm looking forward to your guidance. JasonR. (talk) 19:42, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Why on earth did you think it was appropriate to message Wikipedia editors about that?!? You shouldn't be doing anything remotely close to that on Wikipedia. It's not a question of figuring out the right approach to doing that here, it's fundamentally not what Wikipedia is about. As you don't seem to realise that, there are no grounds to lift your block. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- I've reviewed Wikipedia's terms of service and understand now that my actions were not in line with the community's standards. My intention was to invite collaboration based on expertise, but I see this was inappropriate and not what Wikipedia is for.
- I apologize for the misunderstanding and any issues it caused. I won't make similar mistakes in the future and will ensure any contributions are strictly within Wikipedia's guidelines for content.
- I appreciate the time you've taken to address this, and I respect the decision to maintain the block. I hope to use this as a learning experience to better understand and respect the community's rules.
