editSpeedy deletion of Battle of the Bone
editA tag has been placed on Battle of the Bone, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Dengero (talk) 12:42, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Synopsis
editI've removed the synopsis section of Battle of the Bone as a copyvio from http://www.battleofthebone.com/
Even without the copyvio concerns, it still wouldn't be appropriate for an encyclopedia article as it reads entirely too much like an advertisement for the movie. To establish notability, you need to provide information from independent sources that discuss the film. --Onorem♠Dil 16:04, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- I may have made a mistake as I replied at your own talk page rather than here, apologies! As stated there is no copyright infringment as I am updating this page with permission and actually OWN the battle of the bone domain/website so am well aware that the details are being taken from there. I don't think that calling it an advertisment is fair, it is simply a work in progress. I am not intending to leave the page as it but update it will full information, where possible. - "Copyright Yellow Fever Productions. All rights reserved." - That's what it says at the bottom of the page. And like I said, even without the copyvio concerns, it still doesn't belong. Just because it's the blurb you're using to advertise doesn't mean that it belongs on Wikipedia. We aren't here to advertise your movie. --Onorem♠Dil 16:14, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I am pretty new at this but SURELY giving information used about the movie is and isn't (at the same time) classed as advertising? I have looked at the sites for other movies and found similar information there ... as I said, though, this page is a work in progress and will be updated will as much valid information about the production and making of the movie as possible - I am spending more time on this one small section than anything else though. As for copyright of yellow fever productions that IS George Clarke, the same guy who wrote the movie and the same guy who I did the site for! :o) Jay Jay Phoenix (talk) 16:19, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Please stop adding it for now. You'll have to establish that it is yours to release and then change the copyright tag or it will not be considered acceptable. Also, please be aware of the 3 revert rule which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts, in whole or in part, on a single page within a 24-hour period or they will be blocked. --Onorem♠Dil 16:21, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
If you submitted work to Wikipedia which you had previously published (especially online), and your submission was marked as a potential infringement of copyright, then stating on the article's talk page that you are the copyright holder of the work, while not likely to prevent deletion, helps. It is sufficient to either:
- Make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en at wikimedia dot org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation.
