Speedy deletion of 6abc Boscov's Thanksgving Day Parade

edit

A tag has been placed on 6abc Boscov's Thanksgving Day Parade, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a1.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. NASCAR Fan24(radio me!) 16:14, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate images uploaded

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Blockashford.JPG. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Block ashford.JPG. The copy called Image:Block ashford.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 18:58, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image source problem with Image:Block ashford.JPG

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Block ashford.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:01, 27 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Blockashford.JPG)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Blockashford.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:56, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:123300img1.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:123300img1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 14:55, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Bigbird.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Bigbird.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

AfD nomination of Hairspray Cast Lists

edit

An editor has nominated Hairspray Cast Lists, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hairspray Cast Lists and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:59, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Wicked (musical) cast lists

edit

A tag has been placed on Wicked (musical) cast lists, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TNX-Man 15:20, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Wicked (musical) cast lists, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. TNX-Man 15:55, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Why don't you publish this stuff on one of your own websites and then create links from here? — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 23:59, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Given the AfD, stuffing the lists back into Wicked (musical) was essentially vandalism. Any repetition may well get you blocked. What is your objection to publishing elsewhere? For example on Wikia. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 12:02, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Since you appear determined to ignore the AfD decision, I have blocked you briefly. You are still allowed to edit this page and I suggest that you should explain here why you think that the lists must be here rather than on, say, Wikia. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 16:31, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • The Lists should stay on here so other fans can edit them. Many fans view the page so why not leave it up. Why does it bother you. There is no bad language or effensive material, so what it the big problem? And by the why I did not add the lists to the Wicked page itself. Some other fan, who most likely wants the page to stay up as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jbowler93 (talkcontribs)
    • Now that the article has been deleted, there is no point trying to put it back up. It will get speedy-deleted every time. There is a place for reviewing deletion discussions, called WP:DRV. I personally don't think it will be worth your while pursuing the matter, there, but that's just my opinion, I might be wrong, and if you really want me to I will post a statement from you there, if you like (or you can do so yourself when your block expires (I've no idea when that is, though)). Just post here what you would like to say. I don't think any of us who have commented on your user page are likely to be prepared to get into a discussion with you about the merits of the page itself, though. That's what the deletion discussion was for. AndyJones (talk) 16:11, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • I have now posted your lists to wikia:oz:Wicked cast lists. Watch that space. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 03:48, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
