It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

• That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
• That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

Hi there

I saw your post on the media page. I grew up in Jacksonville and have some experience with images.

Your images look like they are all made before 1923. Is this the case? If so, they are in the public domain and you can tag the images with a

tag.

Otherwise, I suggest copying and pasting the following template's code:

File information

Description	A thorough description of what the image illustrates.
Source	Where did you download this image from? If you created it in a computer program, did you use a guide or reference a book? State that here.
Date	When was the image created?
Author	Who was the photographer or who created the image?
Permission (Reusing this file)	What kind of permission do you have to upload this?

into the summary portion of each image page, and replacing the hints with the correct information. Link to where you got the images. Look at the images in Draining and development of the Everglades. Many of those were uploaded using the Florida Memory Archives as a source, close to what you're doing here. Let me know if you have questions. --Moni3 (talk) 20:46, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. In reply to your question at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions#Horton House image:As far as I can tell you have not given any non-free use rationale for use of File:Horton House image from 1927.jpg on Jekyll island museum. A non-free use rationale tells why the use conforms with Wikipedia’s non-free content policy. In particular for this image:

• WP:NFCC#1 Why couldn’t someone take a contemporary photo of the building and release it under a free license? Wouldn't that be equally useful to the article?
• WP:NFCC#8 Why is showing the image in the article necessary to readers’ understanding of the article?
• WP:NFCC#10c The rationale must name the article for which fair use is claimed.

It is not usually included in the rationale, but WP:NFCC#4 requires previous publication of non-free images outside of Wikipedia. Have your images been previously published? If so, when were they first published? Previous publication might put them into the public domain, which would resolve the non-free use problem.

I notice that you make a point of saying that the museum gives permission to use the images on Wikipedia. Unfortunately because of Wikipedia’s goal of creating reusable content, Wikipedia does not accept permission for use only on Wikipedia. Permission must allow reuse by anyone for anything. (File:Ernest Grob superintendent of the club.jpg was deleted because it had permission for use only on Wikipedia.)
