Thank you very much for your contributions to Jane Comerford's article and creating the article on the album! You seem to know a lot about Jane and your contributions are very valuable. I allowed myself to do some copyedits to the last version of the article you edited, as I believe tit can actually be close to be worthy of becoming a Good Article! I hope you will continue to contribute, so that we can enhance this article even further and achieve this coveted status :D

I am a relatively new Wikipedian, and I see you have just joined the WP, so let me share some hints I managed to gather:

1. Even though widely neglected, one of the most important rules of editing WP is citing sources. When you put a piece of information, just state where you got it from or where it can be found - online or in print. I have marked some of the sentences you added with this -> {{fact}} template to indicate where such references should be done.
   What you might do is replace them simply with the website where you can find these particular tidbits, in brackets -> [], or if it's a book or magazine, use {{cite book}} or Template:Cite book or Template:Cite journal - you will find extensive notes on how to use those on their talk pages. You might also use the Template:Cite web for website. I will then convert those into appropriate Wiki references If you want to delve into the referencing system of the WP, see Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Footnotes (the latter contains technical details of those neat footnotes)
2. In general, "red" links (Wikilinks not leading to an article) should not be created, except when it can be anticipated that an appopriate article will be created shortly. I believe that at least some of the persona mentioned in the article will have their articles translated/created within a foreseeable future, this can also refer to albums and musicals. Only really important characters from musicals get their own articles though, this is why I don't think they should be Wikilinked.
3. Please try to make sure that your Wikilinks link to the appopriate article. I am guilty of neglecting that myself, but it is important that the readers won't be led somewhere else than where they should be when clicking the link. For example, if they click Madonna, they should be taken to Madonna (singer), not to Mary, mother of Jesus.
4. We generally don't Wikilink years or dates unless they are really meaningful and the link can be relevant. In case of 1983 regarding Jane joining Mayte, there is no need of further explaining this date. Same applies to a lot other words in articles - almost word can be linked to some article, but we only place Wikilinks if the reader can actually learn more and following the link is a logical extension of the article. Most of the words would just link to either fairly common knowledge or something irrelevant.
5. WP articles should be written in an encyclopedic style, i.e. phrases that would be OK in a newspaper article or a book might not be so in WP. When you write that "Jane felt that", "Jane was no longer sure", you should provide a reference to some quote of Jane saying that she felt so. Otherwise, we have to limit ourselves to dry information like "Later Jane moved to the USA." I know the lines might be blurry sometimes, but it is very improtant to keep the articles factual over narrative.

Please do not take offence, as this is not my intention at all, and I apologize if this sounds patronizing or impudent - it is late in the night now... :( Once again - your contributions are very valuable and I am very happy you joined the WP community. Hello again Jenny! Thanks for the WikiSmile, forgive me for not reciprocating but I just don't get this concept :D I still like the feeling of collegiality and good faith here at WP! I am sorry what I wrote sounded harsh - now that I read it I feel quite ashamed of myself... I must have had a bad day... I only know Jane from TV, but I agree that she is a great singer.

You do not have to take anything off (now this doesn't sound quite like I meant it too, but I hope you get my drift :p ), it would be great if you could provide references though! Any additional info would also be more than welcome! Thanks and have fun! Bravada, talk - 22:20, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
