Your fandom declaration, NPOV, and puffery

edit

Hi Jitazg!

I see that you've posted a fandom declaration (diff) at Talk:Zubeen Garg § Unsubstantiated hyperbole. You wrote of Garg: "i am in his fan club , i got the privilege to talk to him , and met him many times".

I also see that the vast majority of your edits have been to articles about Zubeen Garg.

There is no rule specifically against single-purpose editing, but please do keep the following in mind.

Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view, and we try to avoid puffery. If you'd like to learn more, please see WP:NPOV and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Words to watch § Puffery.

If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you!

Zubeen Garg edits

edit

Hi there, though I'm sure you meant well, these edits, where I see you adding thirteen links to the lead, mostly for common concepts like "singer", "philanthropist", "composer", etc., are not particularly helpful, because they contravene our guidelines on overlinking. Every link we add is going to compete with readers' attention, and the more links we have, the less likely anybody is going to click on any of them. Further, there is just no excuse for deliberately mis-capitalising common nouns (vs. proper nouns) in contravention of basic English grammar rules. Please think about this going forward and adjust accordingly, please. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:06, 13 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Cyphoidbomb. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Zubeen Garg, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources.   Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Indent replies

edit

Your repeated refusal to indent your replies at Talk:Zubeen Garg is disruptive. See Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines, which says "Persistently formatting your comments on a talk page in a non-compliant manner, after friendly notification by other editors, is a mild form of disruption. After you have been alerted to specific aspects of these guidelines (such as indentation, sectioning, and signatures), you are expected to make a reasonable effort to follow those conventions. Other editors may simply ignore additional posts that flagrantly disregard the talk page formatting standards." That would be a really silly thing to wind up being blocked for. Your recent editing

edit

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Zubeen Garg, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. You made one unexplained revert, which undid seven explained edits[2][3][4][5][6][7][8] at once. Your revert removed text from the article, even though you did not provide an explanation. It also removed two article maintenance templates, even though you did not provide an explanation. When removing article text or article maintenance templates, please make sure to always explain why you are doing so. Thank you!Unforgettableid (talk) 23:07, 11 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

You can see the maximum songs he sung are written and composed by him . He also makes films where he plays the lead role , works there as music director, singer, strory and screenplay. And about the language is that many different languages he sung songs are available in YouTube and other platforms and some are not as they are from very old times but in that some resources are not available like of which film/album and release date that's why not all regional songs he sung are included in the article "songs recorded by Zubeen garg" Thank you. Edit-warring

edit

Regarding this and this, you should be aware that repeated resubmission of content you prefer is considered edit-warring, which the community finds disruptive and could ultimately result in your editing privileges being interrupted. You should also be aware that you don't own the article, so repeated reversions of bona-fide attempts to improve the article are not constructive, especially when your fandom might make objectivity a bit more difficult. If you had experience editing other articles instead of just this one, you'd have a better understanding of Wikipedia editing principles and you'd have a better understanding of how the article should be shaped. I strongly doubt any experienced editor would look at the wall of lists (occupations, instruments, languages) that you're defending and think that it was normal for a quality article. You might want to look at Wikipedia:Good articles/Music and find some GA-rated articles about singers that may give you a better perspective on what the goal for this article should be. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:32, 12 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gangster (2006 film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page KK. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Please stop using primary sources

edit

Please stop using primary sources as references for content like this. We care what reliable secondary sources say. You need to read WP:RS again if you haven't already. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:15, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Poor sources yet again

edit

Jitazg, if you can't wrap your head around our reliable sourcing guidelines, there may be a need to prevent you from editing the Zubeen Garg article any longer. We do not care what blogs think, so edits like this, where you submit two of them, are not helpful. If major mainstream news sites did not report on the "Prag Cine Awards North-East 2018", then it probably doesn't belong in the article. We're not supposed to be tracking every bloody award Garg won, we're supposed to be tracking notable awards. And if nobody except blogs cared that Garg won it, then there's no reason why we should. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. If your fandom prevents you from understanding these fundamental Wikipedia concepts, that's a problem. Speedy deletion nomination of Anamika zubeen

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that Anamika zubeen, a page that you created, has been tagged for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It appears to be a test page. (See section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ─ The Aafī (talk) 08:28, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Anamika (Music album)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Anamika (Music album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.futuresounds.in/store/anamika/?pop=0. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Jitazg, you need to start paying attention to edit summaries. Here, Fylindfotberserk removed Indic script from the infobox and cited WP:NOINDICSCRIPT. You added it back (along with an insanely huge image) and I removed it citing WP:NOINDICSCRIPT. You added the script back again. What are you missing here? Read WP:NOINDICSCRIPT. Original researches and disruptive editing

edit

DO not change source titles and make original researches like you did here. Assuming something is original research. Problematic edits

edit

Re: this, when you are reverted, your recourse is to open a discussion on the article's talk page to seek WP:CONSENSUS for the content you wish to add, not to resubmit it. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:51, 12 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Luit Kontho is given as a honour for this contribution in the field of music and films. For example dr.bhupen harazika is also known as sudha kontho, bishnu prashad agarwala as kalaguru (master of art), etc and mamy more. Its like another name of the person who got this title and its not actually an award.

Sometimes its used as prefix like luit kontho zubeen garg, sudha kontho bhupen hazarika, kalaguru bishnu prashad agarwala, etc. Here's nothing to elaborate more. Jitazg (talk) 19:27, 12 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have undertaken to open the discussion at Talk:Zubeen Garg, which you haven't yet to participate in. Be advised, that you have no consensus for the inclusion of this nonsensical content, so if you don't participate and achieve consensus, you will have no ability to retain the content. Note also, that your third attempt to add this content is edit-warring, and you will be inviting administrative sanctions. As I and others have noted, you appear to have difficulty editing objectively in this area. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:20, 12 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Non of them are properly sourced which i have removed. Jitazg (talk) 09:50, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

The removal of content from the lede here, indicates to me that you have no idea what the lede is supposed to do, i.e. summarise important content found elsewhere in the article. You also introduced a number of typographical errors that you apparently didn't bother spot-checking for. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:22, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Silaa

edit

Please note that links to the singer's social media, YouTube or to online music stores where you can buy the songs are not evidence of notability - at the moment this article does not pass WP:NALBUM at all, and if better sources are not found, this will be redirected or deleted again. Notability

edit

Jitazg, if you're going to create articles, you need to be able to demonstrate that the subject meets our notability criteria. For Draft:Anamika (album) and Draft:Silaa, you would need to demonstrate that the subject either meets our notability criteria for albums found at WP:NALBUM or that it meets our general notability guideline, which says: "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list."

"Significant coverage" means in-depth coverage about the album, i.e. not passing mentions. "Reliable sources" means mainstream sources like major news publications, major magazines and things like that. Since you still have trouble identifying reliable sources, you should also read WP:RS and see WP:ICTFSOURCES. Lastly, "independent of the subject" means that sources that are entwined with Zubeen Garg or his label(s) do not count as independent. Interviews with Garg talking about the album do not help to establish notability, neither does the record label listing data or facts about the album. It needs to be a source unrelated to Garg, which, on its own, is writing in depth about the album(s).

If you fail to establish notability, the articles you create could wind up deleted. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:46, 21 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
