Archiving Obama talk page
We have a bot auto-archiving Talk: Barack Obama according to a schedule the editors have determined. Thanks for trying to help, but please don't manually archive pages that have bots set (you can see the bot instructions on the top of the page when in edit mode). Thanks for your cooperation in this. You tagged the article with a "multiple issues" template but you did not explain your reason(s) for doing so. Please discuss the issues on the Talk page. Roger (talk) 13:44, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Cartoon Network template
Howdy. I'm curious why you keep removing this template from this page?--Rockfang (talk) 04:26, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- Because this template doesn't help it, I am considered that Template:Non-free Cartoon Network image should be deleted. Also, this category Cartoon Network images should be deleted as well. (Jj98 (talk) 04:32, 18 July 2010 (UTC))
- Ok. If you think the template should be deleted, you can list it at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion. For categories, go to Wikipedia:Categories for discussion. You may want to discuss the template at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television first though.--Rockfang (talk) 05:02, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- Stop removing the template as long as the template is not deleted. Also do not fake a pending Deletion Discussion. This is not tolerated. If you show any of these two bad behaviors again, I'll report you to Administrators Noticeboard. Fleet Command (talk) 12:23, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, I will not delete it, but first, I want to revive WikiProject Cartoon Network since the project has been inactive. (Jj98 (talk) 17:21, 18 July 2010 (UTC))

I've notice you have edited the list of characters in Courage the Cowardly Dog, and you have expanded the section "Courage" to provide more fan information, but Mcelite reverted it, and you reverted it again, and I have reverted it myself to avoid edit war. Also, I have tagged Overdetailed template in the List of Courage the Cowardly Dog episodes, but you have reverted it. Image tagging for File:TomandJerryTitleCardf.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:TomandJerryTitleCardf.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

- Sometimes, if an article hasn't been FAR/FARC reviewed in three years, it's because the article is obviously FA-worthy. Case in point: Taiwanese aborigines. Some good has come from the FAR, since it prodded me to update the census data, and fix a few dead links. But now it has to sit in FAR/FARC for a month or so – needlessly, in my opinion. I do want to thank you for volunteering to help at FAR, though. Also see Dana's note, above this one. • Ling.Nut 13:54, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
FAR nominations
Hi Jj98! Thank you for your recent work at FAR. However, in the future, please only have one nomination in each section of the page (FAR and FARC) at a time when the page is sub-20 candidates, and only one at a time period when the page is over 20 candidates. Currently you have two (November (film) and Taiwanese aborigines) in the FAR section. This is to assure that reviewer efforts (which are already lacking) are not spread too thin. There is no rush to push all FAs, or even all FAs from a certain year, through FAR, and it is more important that each FAR is done well and as many articles as possible are saved. This process is more about improving articles than getting them delisted.
Also, there are some questions about your nomination rationale at the Taiwanese aborigines FAR. Would you please revisit and expand? Thanks! Dana boomer (talk) 11:41, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- Also, please read WP:REDLINK. Red links in articles are not automatically a bad thing. Dana boomer (talk) 10:14, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Legend of Zelda FAR
Hi Jj98! Would you mind revisiting the Legend of Zelda FAR, currently at the bottom of the FAR page? In your delist vote, you did not provide an actionable rationale; that is, a rationale that includes concerns that give the main editor something to work on in order to get you to change your vote. Actionable rationales are a must, especially in a FAR that has someone actively working on it. Thanks! Dana boomer (talk) 15:34, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Anakin Skywalker proposed move
Hey JJ98. I noticed that you closed the requested page move on the Anakin Skywalker page however, I believe there are some issues with this, and the action should be reversed. To my understanding you are not an administrator (sorry if I am wrong) and WP:RMCI provides the guidelines that non-administrators should restrict themselves to closing these sort of discussions only when there is no debate on the topic - and in this case there was. Additionally these sort of discussions are supposed to be listed as open for a minimum of 7 full days when you had closes this one midway into the sixth. Also, you included discussion on splitting the topics as part of your closure when it covers a different issues and was listed separately. If this discussion could please be re-opened and be allowed to remain open for the proper designated time after which an administrator could make a conclusion I would be grateful. Thanks a bunch! - Ok, I'll take a look... JJ98 (talk) 05:34, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- Based on this, I am do believe that 8 support votes which they want to move from Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader, inculding 4 oppose votes, and 2 unmerge votes. I think you're absolutely right Solid State Survivor, I think it should be stayed opened for 7 days until the administrator moves to Darth Vader. I am going to reopen it myself. Jere Brower
You guys finally caught on to that one. A couple of fraternity brothers created outlandish articles about ourselves years back, but that one seemed to live in on. My family got a huge laugh about it for years now. For the record, I was just a sergeant when I was in the Army, I did graduate from University of West Georgia, which did not exist until 2005, albeit State University at West Georgia did and West Georgia College before that. I was also part of V Corps, while in the Army, but obviously not their commander. Did you know some schmuck running for governor fed me a free lunch once and let me wave at people on the stage with him, due to that article. It was fun, while it lasted. I just thought I should fess up now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.99.67.107 (talk) 05:53, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Hoax tags
Hi, I noticed you tagged I am a Curator, The invisible generation (art project), and Vision Forum (Art Organisation) with the {{hoax}} tag. I regularly monitor Category:Wikipedia suspected hoax articles, which that template automatically puts any tagged article into, and try to ensure that any article in that category has some sort of deletion template placed on it. I may also remove the hoax tag if I can determine that the article is not a complete hoax, or replace it with the {{disputed}} tag if the article is not a complete hoax but the accuracy of some portions of the article are questionable. With that being said, could you please provide some justification, either here or on the article talk pages, as to why you believe these three articles constitute hoaxes? I must admit I have no expertise in this subject matter and am having a hard time seeing how these are complete hoaxes. Thanks! —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:07, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Welcome message
Hello, Jj98, thanks for the welcome message. Actualy, I am not new here in English Wikipedia, because I am here since November 2009. But thank you for the message.
I viewed in your contributions that you is the coordinator of the WikiProject Cartoon Network. What a coincidence, I am the co-founder of the WikiProject Cartoon Network at the Portuguese Wikipedia. That's why I edit much in articles about Cartoon Network.
Thanks again for the welcome message. Inox-en talk 18:57, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey there...
Anyway, thanks for the info. I just didn't want this file you uploaded to be orphaned, that's all, seeing is how there's now a vector version of the file available.

- I don't think so, per WP:NFCC, WP:USER and WP:IUP, fair use images cannot be allowed in user pages, templates, portals and project pages, but only in articles for encyclopedic purposes. Some of them are not eligible for copyright protection like File:30Rock logo.svg, File:24-intertitle.png, File:Star Wars Logo.svg, File:FOX wordmark.svg, File:Coca-Cola logo.svg, File:House logo.svg, File:AdultSwim.svg and File:CARTOON NETWORK logo.svg. Works without sufficient originality to pass the threshold of originality, or that are useful articles, are not eligible for copyright protection under USC 17. From the United States Copyright Office: "names, titles, short phrases, slogans, familiar symbols, mere variations of typographic ornamentation, lettering, coloring, and listings of contents or ingredients are not subject to copyright". UBX MfD
Just so you know, instead of removing userboxes, you can put <noinclude>{{mfdx}}</noinclude> and then then MfD notice won't show up on user pages :) CTJF83 chat 20:19, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the notice, I will remember that next time if being placed for deletion. JJ98 (Talk) 20:27, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Welcome!
Hello and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you are interested, or you can add it directly to your user page by copying the following: {{WPMILHIST Announcements}}.
- Important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, writing contests, and article logistics.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a set of guidelines that cover article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- If you're looking for something to work on, there are many articles that need attention, as well as a number of review alerts.
- If you have an idea for improving the project, we have a strategy think tank that provides a dedicated forum for discussing it.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any of the project coordinators or any other experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome, and we are looking forward to seeing you around!
- Thank you. JJ98 (Talk) 23:52, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject United States talk page template
Thanks for adding the WP US banner to those talk pages but I changed them to redirect to the main talk page. I think this will provide maximum visibility to the comments. Please let me know if you have any problem with this. --Kumioko (talk) 18:18, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. JJ98 (Talk) 18:32, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Would you mind rechecking the article and seeing if your concerns have been addressed? I've done considerable work on it, particularly in the area of referencing which you highlighted. Thanks. Chick Bowen 00:47, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, no problem. JJ98 (Talk) 00:49, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
I deleted the tag for deletion because I was able to find references, however a merge might not be a bad idea. JDDJS (talk) 22:15, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Categories for Deletion
I see the 26+ categories which you have created and marked for deletion. Can you confirm the reason for this change, and whether you plan to remove those categories which were used on many pages? Thanks. 7 04:08, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
I just went to go and modify the WikiProject United States template to merge all the related projects into one and to my surpise you were already working on it. Well done. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. --Kumioko (talk) 16:26, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. JJ98 (Talk) 16:49, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- I noticed that several of them dont have the importance categories yet. Are you having to create those manually or are do most of those already exist? Im not sure what your plan is so please don't take offense but here are some thoughts I had written down when I was planning on doing it.
- Once your done you should put a comment out on 1 or 2 of the portals about merging the banners into this new template. Starting with the inactive/defunct ones might be the easiest. Personally I think its a great idea and cant imagine why there would be a problem. I think it would be best to do 1 or 2 at a time though and phase them in.
- You'll probably want to do a Bot request once approved to delete the old project banner and replace it with the WP United States banner. I can do the Bot using AWB and I already have a bot account. We would just need to do the BRFA and get approval.
- There are a lot of projects related to individual US cities and other misc projects (such as sports team related). Have you thought about how to support those at all?
- Some of the individual wikiprojects have some unique additional fields that might need to be included at some point. For example The template for WikiProject Congress also has a parameter for subject. This field helps identify if the article is about a Person, People, Place, Thing or Events. Adding a parameter for Biography I think would cover Person and People but Im not sure about the others.
- Wikipedia:WikiProject United States Public Policy has an interesting assessment scale here that might be an issue later on.
- There are still tons and tons of US related articles that dont have a US banner at all yet. At some point well need to address that as well. I have been adding some but we will need a bot request later on.
- I was also thinking that Im not sure if we need importance and assessment categories for every single project or if just an overarching United States would do. --Kumioko (talk) 17:54, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

I noticed you undid a lot of your work on the WPUS Template you were working on. I hope it wasn't something I said. --Kumioko (talk) 22:03, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
WikiProject Google
Hi,
I believe that it is a mistake to mark service templates that render Google links as being "within the scope of WikiProject Google, a collaborative effort to improve the coverage of Google on Wikipedia", like you did with {{find sources}}. The WikiProject is aimed at improving the overall quality of articles that touch on the topic "Google". Service templates that just happen to show Google links need to be seen and maintained separately from the topic. Failing to keep that distinction will certainly strengthen concerns that we use too many Google links in helper templates, as last happened at Template talk:Find sources#Why only Google links?, and I think it's not helpful for template maintainance or the WikiProject anyhow.

- Hi, thank you for letting me know that bot is logged out. Should the be logged back in? JJ98 (Talk) 00:44, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- It will be, but not instantly, i believe the owner Krellis (talk · contribs) has to manually restart the bot though. --TalkToMecintelati 00:48, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
