Article on Human Swimming
I have reverted your edit because, even with the reference you added, the wording of the article is still peacock. Instead of getting into an edit war perhaps we can discuss my concerns. DQweny (talk) 20:27, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
- I don't get into edit wars, especially over something so trivial. You're an editor, why don't you just edit? If you don't like the wording, just change it. ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 21:02, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
Hey, just wondering about the revert over at Anal canal. The words look like they should rhyme (based on spelling) so I thought it would be good to add a bit in that the words actually don't. Do you think this isn't relevant information? If so I can sort of understand. Or did you just have a problem with the placement? Thanks! Peter Napkin Dance Party (talk) 02:53, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, as I said in my edit summary the fact that the words could rhyme, but don't, is completely irrelevant. (I wouldn't mind betting that there are some parts of the world where they actually do! In the UK wrath rhymes with goth, but in the US it doesn't, so we have to be very careful with pronunciations.) But even if it's true, it doesn't exactly add to anyone's understanding or knowledge of the subject does it? So your edit was a bit WP:OR, which is why I reverted it. Cheers. ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 08:03, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Stroud education
Interesting that your usual eagle eye failed to spot Facts? bordering on POV statements until I made my edit to the Stroud article. They've all been there for over four years! See [this edit] made by Flapdragon in 2005. Cheers ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 19:39, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- I am often tempted to wade in and boldly edit but, mostly in deference to you, resist. Hopefully someone can sort it out - I guess Downfield Sixth Form should be in there. The three-way split thing always reads like a four-way split to me
- I have been waiting for the opportunity to say "I'll see your Brimscombe Bridge Halt railway station and I'll raise you a Mickleton Halt railway station" but, alas, it has never arisen. Regards, Lame Name (talk) 20:03, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Unfortunately Downfield Sixth Form is no more, as it has reverted to Marling School Sixth Form / Stroud High School Sixth Form. (A three-and-a-half way split maybe?) Please don't hold back from editing on my account, but don't expect me to search out any more references either; I think I've done my fair share, don't you? Onward to St Mary's Crossing Halt ! ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 20:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Stratford Park
Hi there, I added the "rare 10m cast-in-situ curved concrete 3-level diving board" to the outdoor swimming pool - see Lido photograph - which people think should be "spot listed" (Grade II) by English Heritage - but I think diving is no longer allowed, could you please check next time you are there.--Lidos (talk) 17:22, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- BTW we are creating new articles on historic lidos, see User:Lidos/to_do see outtray, etc. Shall we do one for Stratford Park Lido?--Lidos (talk) 17:31, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- It's a long time since I used the lido, and it is now closed for the winter and fairly inaccessible, but I'll try to find out next time I'm near. I don't see why you shouldn't add it to your list, but I don't know how much information is available for you to use. Cheers, ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 18:04, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Bee Gees
Apologies, but I've reverted your edit on the Bee Gees. Both Colin Petersen and Vince Melouney were full time members of the band. I've still got early singles from the band with both of those two included in the line-up. You can read more about them, and the Band here... http://www.biography.com/articles/The-Bee-Gees-9542373. David T Tokyo (talk) 17:51, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
- Biography.com is wrong. Peterson and Melouney certainly played with them, as did many other musicians such as Blue Weaver and Dennis Bryon, (http://dennisbryon.com/node/4) their drummer. Are they also Bee Gees? ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 18:12, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
- I should add that Colin Petersen and Vince Melouney were employed by the three brothers on a salary, not as equal members. When Alan Kendall and Dennis Bryon joined in 1971 they were also employed on a salary. After the success of 'Saturday Night Fever' they were given a small share of the profits. Has anyone ever seen any of these people interviewed as 'Bee Gees'? ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 10:02, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Non-English sources
Re this: non-English sources are acceptable in certain circumstances, even if they are not preferred. Please see WP:NONENG for further information. Best, Knepflerle (talk) 19:32, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- Well, OK, I'd missed that sentence in the guidelines; but it's such an esoteric entry that I really think it needs an English-language source if you can possibly find one. It's not verifiable by many readers at the moment. Cheers, ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 21:02, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
A, B, C, D ... what come next, again?
Hiya Jongleur, thanks for clearing up after me on List of Welsh people. Glad one of us has their brain switched on today. The only thing I can think of that may have caused my brainstorm was that two actors had been added after Catherine Zeta-Jones, and I was going to move her to the end of the list after I'd checked the new ones. But I think I'd best leave that to you and go and have a lie down. Best, oh, btw, do you have an opinion on the tag at the top of the article? If so, would you note your view on the talk page please. The section title is Talk:List of Welsh people#Citations. Cheers, Daicaregos (talk) 13:14, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- We all have those days - and I've already reverted myself once today.
- I think you'll like my response on the Talk:List of Welsh people#Citations page. Cheers, ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 15:44, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that. I think we should leave it a few more days to see if there are any other opinions. Best, Daicaregos (talk) 14:15, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Tonbridge School
Tonbridge School- Yes, they are all either present or past masters at Tonbridge School. Just click on their names and it says on all their profiles that they have been there. Two were past Headmasters, two are current Housemasters, one is a past Housemaster and the other a past Head of Department. Please change it back once you have verified this. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.199.152.180 (talk) 10:39, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'm quite happy to reinsert the section about masters, but without the reams of useless trivia that you reinstated at the same time that you made your edit. Your edit summary made no mention of this. ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 11:12, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
Castrati and Eunuchs
Yes, that's the implication, but then, I also thought that link "castrato" was in itself so obscure that the leap to "Eunuch" was better, once there readers would figure "All castratos are eunuchs, but not all eunuchs are castratos, and only castratos were grimly reaped for their voice"...Undead Herle King (talk) 11:28, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- PD; You really think it is so out of place? Furthermore, I also modified the arrangement to give all columns the same number of entries as much as possible, leaving every extra for the last entry... 'R ya sure no link was lost in the picking? Undead Herle King (talk) 11:33, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Reversion of blanking at Optimal solutions group
Hi, in situations where the only author of the article blanks it, {{csd-g7}} can be used, you don't need to revert. Thanks. :) Chris Rocen (talk) 23:07, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. Hadn't realised he was the only editor, just saw blanking. Cheers ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 23:23, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- you seem to have done similarly, for Paul Kei Matsuda -- see User talk:Pmatsuda. please always check the history first. DGG ( talk ) 18:17, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- I think I'll stop wasting so much of my time reverting vandalism instead. ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 18:44, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
PROD of Pandemonium (song)
You placed a PROD on the page Pandemonium (song) with the concern, "Wrongly formatted page". I have corrected the format, but as I do not know much about popular music, I'm unsure whether the single is notable in its own right. Would you care to revisit your PROD nomination? Thank you, Cnilep (talk) 16:59, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. I've removed the prod as the article is now more or less correctly formatted with an infobox, although it's obviously going to need some text to go alongside. Personally I'm not that hung up on notability, so I don't know whether or not other editors will find it notable enough. I'm sure they'll soon tell you if it's not! Cheers ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 18:19, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Having now taken a closer look at the article it appears to me that the page was not only incorrectly formatted but also incorrectly titled. 'Pandemonmium' is actually the title of the Album, which already has a page. The single is called 'Jana', so the article should be logically be called 'Jana (song)', and not 'Pandemonium (song)'. Am I right? ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 10:51, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
