Request reason:
I see from the page about gaming, that my editing behavior was contrary to Wikipedia guidelines. I regret my behavior and do wish to contribute to Wikipedia constructively going forth. I am interested in genetics and animal behavior and earning a PhD now. I do wish to have the ability to edit articles in such topics, and others I am passionate about. Personally Wikipedia and it's sister wikimedia project proteopedia, the 3d protein encyclopedia project, are my go to sources of information in my scientific interests and generally. joe joe 19:12, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate and confirm that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:
- Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
- Reading our guide to improving articles.
- Picking any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
- If you have trouble choosing an article to improve, see this index of articles needing improvement for ideas.
Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:
- Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
- Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
- do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this:
...
), - do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this:

), - do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this:

), - and do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this:
Foo stub
);
- do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this:
- Click edit at your talk page and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this:
Article title
) the copied content but do not save yet; - Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "
Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution.
" - You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include any citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose:
reflist-talk
. Once you have added the template, click .
- Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
- When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking using unblock and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
- If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will hopefully improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.
If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~
" to your talk page. Thank you. Yamla (talk) 21:14, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Hamas promotes Palestinian nationalism in an Islamic context.[63] In its 1988 charter, Hamas articulated its objective to establish an Islamic Palestinian state throughout the entire territory of Mandatory Palestine. Subsequently Hamas began acquiescing to 1967 borders in the agreements it signed with Fatah in 2005, 2006 and 2007[64][65][66] In 2017, Hamas released a new charter that supported a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders without recognizing Israel.[67][68][69][70][71] Hamas's repeated offers of a truce (for a period of 10–100 years[72]) based on the 1967 borders are seen by some scholars as consistent with a two-state solution.[73][74][75][76] Other scholars say truce does not imply a permanent peace with or recognition of Israel and that Hamas retains the long-term objective of establishing one state in former Mandatory Palestine.[77][78][1] The 1988 Hamas charter was widely described as antisemitic.[79][80][81] The revised 2017 Hamas Charter stated that Hamas's struggle was with Zionists, not with Jews.[82][83][84]

How can I make these proposed edits, better generally for wikipedia - and also, specifically, for my unblock review? joe joe 06:13, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
a few things joe joe: 1; when signing a comment, use four tildes in this format ~ ~ ~ ~ (but dont have a space there like i did. I repeat; NO SPACES). 2; trying your edits in the sandbox, is always a good idea. 3; i dont know why, but it may be the reflist-talk template you used, but i couldn't use the reply future and had to edit the source as a reply. 4; in my opinion, it is best to write this comment on the talk page of the article you want edited (hamas in this case?) and use the help me template there. lastly, i would help in writing this but i believe that it would constitute a COI on my part.
i hope you get help from someone who is allowed to assist, Megabits000 (talk) 20:06, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- If your above passage is your proposed edit, simply make a new unblock request. 331dot (talk) 20:27, 22 October 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
I regret the gaming of the system, and stopped as soon as I was warned. I will not engage in such behavior again. At the same time, I am passionate about contributing to Wikipedia. joe joe 06:13, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
The Hamas edits proposed above demonstrate that you are not able to edit using Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Also, you asked for help, but when another user told you how to WP:sign properly, you ignored the advice. You did not demonstrate the ability to edit collaboratively. To be completely crystal clear, you are rejecting the path I offered you to demonstrate you are capable of editing appropriately? --Yamla (talk) 12:43, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- I do want to demonstrate I am capable of editing appropriately. I added a notion to the existing page, and also added several internal links. Do let me know how I may better demonstrate an ability to appropriately edit a page.
- Sincerely,
- joe joe 14:00, 25 October 2023 (UTC) joe joe 14:00, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Those edits clearly demonstrated you should not be unblocked as you do not understand WP:CITE and WP:RS. --Yamla (talk) 14:01, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
Custom signature fix needed
editHi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Changes to Wikipedia's software have made your current custom signature invalid.
The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error or obsolete HTML tags.
The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, you can fix your signature, or you can do nothing.
Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Do not click the red "Restore all default settings" button, which will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Click the button next to the error to learn how to fix the error.
- Update your signature to fix the error.
- Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.
Solution 3: Do nothing:
- In accordance with a recent request for comment, all invalid signatures will be changed to the default, which looks like "Example (talk)", one month from now.
If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:05, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
