Indian storm
editThank you for your recent contributions to 2010 North Indian Ocean cyclone season. Unfortunately, the recent storm was not actually a tropical cyclone and thus your contributions were out of place. However, please do take a look at the article on the storm: 2010 eastern Indian storm, and contribute to it if you have anything to add.
Have a nice day, ThaddeusB (talk) 19:06, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
2010 NIO
editI removed the system because their wasn't any Tropical Cyclone in the NIO this week. The system being called a cyclone by the media is in fact a norwester and doesnt count as a part of the season as far as i am aware.Jason Rees (talk) 19:09, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Conson
editI am currently trying to get ahead and write an article up for Conson as it looks like its gonna become the first typhoon of the season and do some major damage to the PAR and China. Anyway im contacting you to see if you would be interested in helping me out as i suck at writing impact up.Jason Rees (talk) 11:26, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- Feel free to write bits up in here: [1] ill probably publish it when we have a clearer idea of where its going (Vietnam side or Hong Kong side of China). Stay safe.Jason Rees (talk) 14:01, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- Im glad you enjoyed tracking Conson, and that you are safe.Jason Rees (talk) 20:57, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- Nice idea with the forecasting error section. ill try and expand it out as the JTWC and JMA both made significant errors.Jason Rees (talk) 14:00, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Satellite images
editHi Jpuligan 12,
Recently, you've been replacing the high-quality (>5,000 x 5,000 px) MODIS images of typhoons with ones of much lower quality (700 x 900 px). Although you may like the lower resolution images, the project always uses the highest-resolution image as the main image for a storm unless there are none available near the peak intensity of a storm. Please refrain from continuing to replace these images in the future.

Current Storm Information
edit- Well i have once removed the secion "Current storm information" because there are many cyclone warning centers monitoring the Western pacific ocean. PAGASA, JMA, JTWC, HKO and more and more. aaIf you wanted to give a current storm information. then it should be like the one you see in the Atlantic and Eastern Pacific basin. there is only one cyclone warning center in the Americas and it is the National Hurricane Center. So thats why they have all different infoboxes during active tropical cyclones. We cant do it here. I will not remove it now. But try to include official content (see that you dont copy everything) and only put information from RSMC (JMA). --Anirudh Emani (talk) 15:34, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

JMA TD
editPlease look again at your source for the TD - my sources show me that it was carried through 0000UTC and was only dropped this morning after 0600 UTC. 18z, 00z, 06z, 12z.Jason Rees (talk) 18:00, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- The JMA still issued until 12:00Z. -- Meow 18:46, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
I only recorded this: http://bbs.typhoon.gov.cn/read.php?tid=47303&ds=1&page=8#1797939 I hope someone else has recorded the complete one. -- Meow 19:03, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

General links
editHow many times do we have to tell you to stop using general links such as http://www.usno.navy.mil/NOOC/nmfc-ph/RSS/jtwc/warnings/wp0312web.txt which do not allow for verifiability. Also please remember that the articles are meant to be a summary of the data not every single fact that you can find.Jason Rees (talk) 19:09, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- It may be right but remember the article is meant to be a summary of the data not every single fact you can find, you also shouldn't use images and just use the advisories.Jason Rees (talk)
- Meow already did - im not saying that Meows version is perfect though.Jason Rees (talk) 19:26, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- Please get your facts straight with Ambo before adding them to the article, PAGASA issued their first advisory on it at 23:00 PST 31/5 not June 1 Midday as you keep inserting into the article. SourceJason Rees (talk) 09:14, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Glad you removed it
editI saw you remove this 3RR report. Please do not ever suggest that you have more authority to edit any article on Wikipedia simply because you're a member of a project. Wow, just wow. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:14, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for your response. uhm I'm not really saying that I have the more authority in editing. I just want to said that Meow shouldn't delete the articles that I'm putting without notifying me. Jpuligan 12 (talk) 10:23, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Um, you stated "For infact I'm a member of Wikiproject: Wikipedia Tropical Cyclones and I guess I have the more authority to maintain stability and correct information about Tropical Cyclone pages" ... that's a claim of authority that does not exist (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:32, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- This by the way is inappropriate as it appears to be a current forecast, PLUS the absolutely brutally inappropriate edit-summary (especially being in all-caps). I think you need to step back and take a few breaths here (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:37, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I would like to know why Meow should have to waste his or her time and come and inform you every time, he/she edits the article? like you are trying to suggest he/she has to as at the end of the day you submitted your writing to be edited, used, and redistributed at will here.Jason Rees (talk) 10:38, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Exactly; that's what your watchlist is all about :-) And WP:BRD applies. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:41, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yes I need to step back and controlling my temper about this. But for myself, it is a disgrace that the information that I'm putting is being replaced by others. such a very disgrace for myself. Sometimes I really think why am I doing this? for I know this is my passion. If I will retire early as an editor of Wikipedia today why not? But I just want to somehow share my knowledge to others. The bottom line here is Meow shouldn't delete my articles that I'm creating for I know that I'm following the right track Jpuligan 12 (talk) 10:53, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

- Meow should inform me if its just ok for me to replace my works. But it is a disgrace. If she wants to add more information, she must add it not replace my works for I'm doing a right one. Jpuligan 12 (talk) 10:53, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- No, that's not how Wikipedia works and you know it. First, nobody is deleting your articles: your edits are not reaching WP:CONSENSUS - and based on the other comments on your talkpage, this is fairly common. Just because you think you're right does not mean your edits are as per consensus. As I noted, I personally have noticed that some of your edits are not appropriate for the project. However, I firmly believe that you are trying to improve the articles - I just think you need to take the advice of others into play right now. Wikipedia is both a collaborative project AND a learning curve for all of us, including me. Using phrases like "a disgrace" show far to much emotional attachment - you need to approach this project very differently, but you're for the most part doing the right things. Follow WP:BRD closely. Ensure you're proposing/discussing edits on the article talkpage. You'll do fine (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:01, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks anyway. I will not be active for now. I need a rest. Pressure is killing me. anyway thank you very much . . . .Jpuligan 12 (talk) 11:23, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Date problem
editYou uploaded Super Typhoon Guchol at peak strength 2012 - 17 - 06.jpg, but the date is not proper at all. You could use 2012-06-17 (under ISO 8601), June 17 2012, Jun 17 2012, 17 June 2012 and 17 Jun 2012 within a filename, but 2012 - 17 - 06 is really not proper and not used anywhere. Besides, a filename without strength (like Super Typhoon) is better. I hope you understand why I meant. -- Meow 09:20, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
Saola
editBe careful - Some of the impact you say is related to Saola isnt. Saola is pulling invest 97W towards it which is what is causing some of the impact.Jason Rees (talk) 17:57, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- Its not though, the Media may attribute it to Saola but we have to remember 97W has made landfall on Manila (PAGASA Name:SLPA). Heres two links that will help prove what im saying to you: 1, 2, You might wanna store the second some where else.Jason Rees (talk) 18:21, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

How are you?
editHey Jpuligan, Bopha hit your country REALLY hard. How are you doing?--✯Earth100✯ (talk✉) 12:16, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the concern buddy. Bopha is quite far from where I live. But its outer rainbands start to affect us. Well I pray to all my fellow citizens that was devastated by this cyclone. this is very an "unusual" event for us because tropical cyclones during this month, our agency here (PAGASA) expected a below super typhoon strength. we were surprised by this catastrophic event. Jpuligan 12 (talk) 12:22, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- Unusual, as typhoons don't normally reach category 5 in December or November.
- Unusual, as typhoons don't normally make landfall in the Philippines at category 5 in December.
- Conclusion: RARE EVENT..
