Kudrat E Khoda

Hi. Just wanted to explain something about the deletion of the above article. It was deleted under one of the speedy deletion criteria -- WP:A7 because there was no credible assertion of notability. The article did describe Mr Khoda as "the most famous photographer in Bangladesh" and that is an assertion of notability. But I could not find any single reference point to suggest this was in fact the case. Without anything to back the claim, it was not credible and the article was deleted.

I appreciate that sources are harder to come by in some countries than others, particularly ones that will be accepted in an English-language Wikipedia. But there needs to be something to back a claim. If you have a reliable source to support the statement that Mr Khoda is a famous or award-winning photographer, please feel free to recreate the article and list this source on the page. Until then alas, it cannot be retained in Wikipedia as its only claim is unsourced. Euryalus (talk) 13:29, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi Jubairbiniqbal, thankyou for your enthusiasm to create new Wikipedia articles about Bangladeshi subjects. However, please bear in mind your articles will need reliable published sources to (a) prove that the information is true (b) prove that the person or subject is notable enough for this encyclopedia. Good sources are particularly important for articles about living people. Unsourced articles may be partially or totally removed by other editors, either by speedy deletion (in the worst examples) or Articles for Deletion discussion. The article Faisal Akram Ether has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject is a photographer who has had some photos published (this is nothing unusual). He runs a photography group. The one news source is only an events listings page. I can't see any evidence here he's widely known or important.
