re: Highway 16
editNo problem. I just happen to live in the La Crosse area and saw it in recent changes, so I had to read it out of curiosity. Incidently, when you post on talk pages you should sign your post by adding ~~~~ at the end - this is so people can easily see who the post is from. Happy editing! BryanG 06:56, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Note to self: gotta remember the ~~~~ when making entries on talks. Thanks again, BryanG. jwhouk 19:21, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
WIS 83
editJust wanted to give you a "heads up." I had placed state route junctions on other highways and they were removed by others later that week. WIS 15 for example because the editor felt that "it wasn't major enough." Just wanted to warn you. --master_sonLets talk 22:41, 4 August 2006 (UTC) - Gotcha, and thanks.--jwhouk 05:47, 7 August 2006 (UTC) I added a junctions guideline to the project page for the junctions. It is located in the Infoboxes section of the project page. Good work on the new articles so far. --master_sonLets talk 02:05, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Highway photos - just a note...
editYou recently placed an image on Wisconsin Highway 120 I ran into problems with users removing galleries of images from route articles (I-43 and Marquette Interchange for example) The best solution is to link to the Commons. There is a setting in the routebox for doing so. just add |commons=category to link to the commons category Wisconsin Highway 120. -- master_sonTalk - Edits 00:01, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the help. Is there an example of how to do this for the individual article? jwhouk 06:28, 14 May 2007 (UTC) -- Never mind, found it. Fixed the problem with what you suggested. Looks nicer, too. jwhouk 06:32, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Tennessee 109.png
editThanks for uploading Image:Tennessee 109.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:10, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

An important letter
editDear roads editor,
You may have noticed some changes at WP:USRD lately. Some of them, like the cleanup templates and the stub templates, have been astounding and great. Unfortunately, others have been disturbing.
This has become evidenced by the departure of a few prominent editors at USRD, a few RFC's, and much fighting among USRD editors.
After the second RFC, many of us found the opportunity to take a step away from Wikipedia for a while--as a self-imposed wikibreak, or possibly on vacation.
The result of such introspection was that many of us were placing ourselves in a "walled garden" and on a self-imposed pedestal of authority over the roads department. Also, we were being hostile to a few users who were not agreeing with us.
In fact, IRC has been the main incarnation of this "walled garden." Decisions have been made there to conduct grudges and prejudices against a few valued USRD users with poor justification.
For this, we have come to apologize. We have come to ask your forgiveness.
In addition to this, we hope to work as one USRD team from now on and to encourage cooperation instead of the promotion of interests.
All users are welcome to collaborate on IRC, the newsletter, or anywhere else at USRD.
In the future, please feel free to approach us about any issues you may have.

editHello, Jwhouk. We had a few urgent matters to communicate to you:
- Please update your information at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Participants, our new centralized participant list. Those who have not done so by October 20th will be removed.
- There are important discussions taking place at WT:USRD relating to whether WP:USRD, WP:HWY, or the state projects should hold the "power" in the roads projects.

editDo you have some history information on it? Also, a basic junction list using the templates will be necessary (just list major intersections (Interstate, US, State and select CTH routes that have major implications (such as city/village access) see WIS 16 for examples. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. editHello, Jwhouk. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Problem with your custom signature
editYou have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.
The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.
The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.
- Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
- Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you. 18:03, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
