editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Peter McGuire has been reverted.
Your edit here to Peter McGuire was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.facebook.com/GlasgowGladiatorsBoccia%7C) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Conflcit of interest editing
editHello, KJMClark1966. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Glasgow Gladiators Powerchair FC, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:39, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hello KJMClark1966. I've posted the above template because it contains links to pages which I believe you will find helpful in learning about editing on Wikipedia. You might also want to take a look at Wikipedia:Ownership of content and Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. In general, if you have a conflict of interest (I'm assuming you might based upon what you posted on my user talk page), then it does not mean that you are forever prohibited from editing the article again, but only that there are certain guidelines that the Wikipedia community has established to try and ensure that COI doesn't go too far off the rails and create more serious problems.
- In addition to above links, you probably should take a look at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies), Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, Wikipedia:Verifiability, not truth, Wikipedia:Your first article and Help:Referencing for beginners. That's a lot of reading to do, but having a basic familiarity of what Wikipedia is about and how to edit properly, etc. will help you avoid problems with other editors. If you have any general questions about editing, feel free to ask them here or at The Teahouse. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:48, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
