Northern Force
editHello, I noticed you removed the tags I added to Northern Force, Team 172. I added them because the article is not clear on what Northern Force actually is, and might appear to fail WP notability standards. If this article can be cleaned up so that it is clear about the subject matter and notability, then the tags can be removed. The subject of the article seems like it is very interesting, so a clearly written article will be a good one. Best, Paul 21:33, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Framing in User Page
editHey, I just saw your user page, and it looks great with the frame around it. My first thought was to steal the template to use it on my own...but I thought better. (lol) I was wondering, did you design it custom, or did you find it as a template somewhere? If you did pick it up from a wiki community, would you please direct me to it. If not, I would appreciate a summary of what is involved in formatting something like that. Thanks, --KPWM_Spotter 00:26, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hi KPWM Spotter! Sorry I couldn't get back sooner, I was on a Wikibreak. Feel free to "steal" whatever design you want from my user page; the header, box, layout, whatever you want. It's a wiki! Feel free! I even "stole" some of that from other editors, and put some of it together myself. If you're curious about creating tables for your user page, check out Help:Table. The borders were made with table borders and

tags. See you around! —Mets501 (talk) 23:31, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Your VandalProof Application
editDear KPWM Spotter,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires its users to have made 250 edits to mainspace articles, which you have not (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - Glen 15:57, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- Argh...As an afterthought, I thought 230 edits would get me close enough...Oh well...--KPWM_Spotter 17:06, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
cuspidal representation
editHi KPWN Spotter, Thanks for your message. I removed the clean up box because I did't think the comment regarding the abbreviation reflects what needed to be done. I agree that the article needed to be cleaned up but I do not use any abbreviations in the article. Please remove the comment regrading the abreviation in the clean up box.

It's a possible copyright violation - as I said in my edit summary. The uploader included the source (the Air Canada website) but uploaded under the {{PD-self}} licence! i.e. he/she is suggesting he made the image, even though it belongs to Air Canada (and is copyrighted). Regards Mark83 15:31, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- The actual summary was "rmv poss. imagevio" but yes, sorry, I see what you mean. Imagevio is an abbreviation for Image violation (i.e. shorthand for image copyright violation). Regards Mark83 15:38, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Your request for merge of Street Fighter EX2 Plus
editI noticed, that you posted the merge tag under the above article and didn't vote in the discussion. This is just a friendly reminder that you may want to view the article again and post your vote. It has been expanded greatly since you placed the tag and you may disagree with your initial assumption. Thanks, BrianZ(talk) 18:05, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed, it shouldn't be up for merge any longer. I still think that there could be a better system for organizing the Streetfighter articles, as "EX2 Plus" only gets a quick mention of it's title on the main street fighter page. Video games aren't my area of expertise, but I somehow feel that something should be done to better standardize the articles. Anyways, thanks for dropping me the message. --KPWM_Spotter 18:16, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Video games aren't my area either. I was just checking out the article creators contribs since he's new and I was welcomign him, and I stumbled upon the article. No problem. BrianZ(talk) 18:18, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Editing my Rutan stuff
editThanks for the offer...I replied on the project page, but thought I'd drop you a note here, as well. As I wrote on the project page, so far I've created these new pages: Scaled Composites ATTT, Toyota TAA-1, NASA AD-1, and added or edited these to a fair degree: Rutan VariViggen, Rutan VariEze, Rutan Defiant. One the Scaled Composites page itself, I've added more of their aircraft, and started adding to the page content. I've got a ton of material, and really need to sit down and write a thorough history of both RAF and Scaled. The next page I create, probably later this morning, if get free here at work, will be the Rutan/Amsoil Racer, and I'll let you know when that's ready for copy edit. I have a list on my user page of all the stuff I do as well, and you're always welcome to check that for updates.
So, you spot in Maine, eh? I think I'm about as far as I can get from you and still be in the continental US...I'm at Mojave Airport, basking in 108 degree heat! Akradecki 15:24, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! Specs on many of these planes would be difficult, as most of the data is proprietary. Don't know how familiar you are with Burt, but he's obsessed with secrecy, even though he does things in broad daylight on the ramp of a public airport. He has quite a dislike for me because I'll stand out on our ramp and shoot pictures of his projects as they taxi by, then publish them on my blog. Hey...what can I say? I'm a journalist! Akradecki 15:48, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Also, if you have time, please take a look at Oblique wing. It was poorly written, and had a wikify tag on it, so I rewrote it as an outgrowth of my research on the AD-1, and expanded it quite a bit. I took a look a your other edits so far, and much appreciate the help! Akradecki 16:48, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

New project?
editDo you have time for a new project? I know you're good with specs templates and user boxes...I'm starting a major revamping to the network of UAV pages, and could use your help to be the "box man". Akradecki 16:32, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- Great! The first task will take a bit of work, though. It is the Ryan Model 147 Lightning Bug. There are a number of different variants with different specs. I'll leave it to you how you want to organize it. The Blue boxes at the bottom need to be replaced with better tables, too, if you feel up to it. The project page is at Talk:History of unmanned aerial vehicles where I'm keeping track of all the done and to-do items...feel free to update that. Akradecki 18:54, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Aircraft specs?
editAre you still up for doing aircraft specs? I could use some help at Berkut 360. Akradecki 23:40, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll get on it...just give me a few days. I'm on Christmas break soon, so I'll try to get as much as I can done while I have the free time. --KPWM_Spotter 02:51, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
Could you put some of the specs back in? Empty weight is important. And if you're going to list the 540 as the engine, please list the 540 performance specs. Listing the 360 cruise and climb numbers makes the airplane look like it is a dog in the air.
It's very disheartening to go into my files, find old test data, type it in and have it removed by someone that's never seen the airplane.
This is my last try. I've done my best to make it accurate and complete. Learfan 18:13, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello KPWM Spotter, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Embraer Lineage1000.jpg) was found at the following location: User:KPWM Spotter. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 11:45, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- I saw that the image was back, so I removed it again, and replaced it with another placeholder. Per WP:USERBOX#Designing_a_userbox, you shouldn't use non-free images like that one in userboxes. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 15:38, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Maine FIRST Robotics Coalition
editI have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Maine FIRST Robotics Coalition, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Replaceable fair use Image:Img_destaque_legacy600.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Img_destaque_legacy600.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 15:45, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:C172PQIFS04.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:C172PQIFS04.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

- Just read your comments on this image - please note that you need to get the copyright holder to release his rights with an appropriate licence, refer to Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for the procedure, permission to use in an article is not sufficient as it has to be released with a licence that allows free use. The link should provide more information. If you have an alternate image it would probable be better as the image will always be questioned when it has a clear copyright notice on it. Orphaned non-free media (Image:PWM-logo.gif)
editThanks for uploading Image:PWM-logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:41, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Wikiproject Electronics collaboration
editHi, I am writing to you because you have listed yourself as a member of the Electronics WikiProject. Sadly, this project is pretty dead, but I propose to resuscitate it with a collaboration. The idea is to have a concerted effort on improving one article per month, hopefully to GA or FA status and nominate the very best of them for the front page. I have prepared a page to control this process at Wikipedia:WikiProject Electronics/Collaboration (actually, I mostly shamelessly stole it from Wikipedia:WikiProject Mammals where a collaboration of this sort was succesfully run). There you can make nominations for articles for collaboration or comment on the nominations of others.
If you want to take part you might like to place this template {{WikiProject Electronics Collaboration}}
on your userpage which will give you a link to the current collaboration. If you are no longer interested in Wikiproject Electronics, please remove yourself from the members list, which is now at Wikipedia:WikiProject Electronics/Members

KPWM
editGood evening,
As a newcomer to the world of plane spotting, I'm discovering just how much fun it can be to watch plans arriving and departing at KPWM. A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure (and surprise!) of seeing a KC-135 Stratotanker do a touch-and-go on Runway 29. Quite an impressive bird (although not quite as impressive as the KC-10 Extender they had on display this past summer!).
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself as a fellow KPWM spotter. :-)
