Hi, KaElin, Welcome to Wikipedia!

Filipinang lubos itong si KaElin. Mabuhay ka! Umbriago.

Hey, KaElin. I did not like your editing what I just made. The article had too much POV and just trying to help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.21.41.231 (talkcontribs)

Hello, salut, privjet, nihao, anyeong haseyo, konnichiwa, hola, salaam, ciao, and hi! Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ; plus, if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). And if you have any more questions, feel free to post them on my user talk page or add {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly. Also, don't forget to visit the directory of portals where you're sure to find an interesting topic!

Additional tips

edit

Here are some extra tips to help you get around in Wikipedia:

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills or test Wiki markup, then the Sandbox is for you. On this page, you can make whatever edits you like.
  • You should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~).
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you want to customize your user page, then check out the large collection of userboxes.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.

Aquino convicted of murder

edit

Aquino was convicted by Marcos of Murder. Pls note that this not a category for murderers nor or does it imply that Ninoy was a murderer or actually murdered. St. Lorenzo was convicted of murdering a Spaniard , there are many others.--Jondel 07:55, 8 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

WP:PR

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed that you started a peer review nomination for José Rizal; I fixed it and the nomination can now be found here. If there's any nomination text you would like to add (like nomination procedure(3) on WP:PR: the kind of comments/contributions you want), you can add it on to the nomination. Hi!

edit

Hello! Nice userpage and talkpage! I am impressed! Anyway, thanks for the info. I will try it. It won't get mixed up with the references section, though? Sige, I'll see. --Pinay06 19:19, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi again. Thank you. I actually use the ref ref tag in the section on References, not Footnotes. Now, if there is both a references and footnotes section, how do you distinguish? BTW, I have reserved the References as the sources of info, the footnotes as additional info or adlibs to the topic, not a reference. For the pics, I think I've released most of them in commons in public domain. Feel free to use them. Ingat! --Pinay06 20:07, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sure, no problem! --Pinay06 21:04, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rizal/Schiller/LaRouche

edit

LaRouche sources are not considered reliable for a variety of reasons. The ArbCom previously decided, in Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Lyndon LaRouche that:

  • Original work which originates from Lyndon LaRouche and his movement may be removed from any Wikipedia article in which it appears other than the article Lyndon LaRouche and other closely related articles.

I was clearing out a few dozen links to LaRouche sites from unrelated articles. -Will Beback · · 23:59, 21 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello KaElin, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:The Merry Widow Ballet - DVD.jpg) was found at the following location: User:KaElin. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 00:48, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rizal - Vandalism

edit

I think the best way is to put a lock on the Jose Rizal article.. semi-protected and only established users can edit.. hopefully it will work.. just a suggestion... cheers :) peads (talk) 12:34, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

You were right and I made the same suggestion in the Jose Rizal talk page. I don't know how to do it. Perhaps you could? Thanks!KaElin (talk) 12:41, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

OK I'll do that... I'm slowly removing the vandals and restore the proper edits... peads (talk) 13:11, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Rizal's retraction

edit

On Rizal's retraction: Much improved but not quite there. Statements like "Many continue to believe", "claims", "insisted" are not neutral. Suggest summarize reference [20] that contains this: http://joserizal.info/Reflections/retraction.htm . Looks very neutral and merely summarizes controversy. GA Reassessment of José Rizal

edit

As you are a significant contributor to the article I wanted to be sure you were aware that José Rizal has been nominated for a good article reassessment. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to good article quality. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status will be removed from the article. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. 2019 US Banknote Contest

edit
  US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
