So we’re supposed to discuss my Hot Topic in this talk box so you can get a better understanding for the topic in order to create a suitable graphic. At least, that was my understanding from Professor Harms’ instructions.

TRAFFIC is a research-driven, action-oriented organization made up of members from the World Wildlife Fund and IUCN. Their mission is to “ensure that trade in wild plants and animals is not a threat to the conservation of nature.” Their vision “is a world in which trade of wild plants and animals is managed at sustainable levels without damaging the integrity of ecological systems.” They begin their case studies by evaluating the impacts the trade network has on both the environment and economics of that area and then compiling solution plans based on that research and taking action to have those plans enacted. In some countries where conservation is not even in the mindset of the natives, TRAFFIC has made great strides through education and awareness campaigns to bring sustainability into focus.
