Why dont you redirect this article. Srivin (talk) 13:14, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Srivin, I have initiated a move discussion here. Please share your thoughts. --Kailash29792 (talk) 13:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
Thank you, I don't think article should have two titles please repeat the same redirect thing which you had done for Mayabazar (1936) which I had created few months back. Srivin (talk) 13:37, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Source review

Would you like to perform a source review for Mary Kom FAC? I would appreciate it.Krish | Talk 09:03, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

I appreciate your offer, but meh. It's a very arduous and painstaking task that causes me great strain, added by the fact that I won't be home today until late evening (this is a mobile edit). But I would sometimes do source reviewing for shorter articles. I saw Ian Rose's post on the FAC page, and thought he would arrange for someone to do the source review. And I'm sorry for refusing. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:09, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
But every single source is notable. You won't have to do anything. You just require to look at the refrence section and post your thoughts on the FAC. If you don't want to do then it's okay.  Krish | Talk 09:23, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

Filmography

Many Telugu actors' filmographies are like that. I ask you to change them to correct format.PhysicsScientist (talk) 05:51, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

PhysicsScientist, many Telugu filmographies are crappily arranged. In contrast, Tamannaah and Shriya Saran's filmographies are featured lists (as per the link, "featured lists are what we believe to be the best lists in Wikipedia"). Please read WP:FILMOGRAPHY before you edit your next list. --Kailash29792 (talk) 06:02, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
Is there any tool to delete entire column and interchange two columns in a table?PhysicsScientist (talk) 12:17, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
Yes. If you edit via VisualEditor, you will be able to add/delete columns, rows, merge/split columns and rows, and so on. Here is your userguide. --Kailash29792 (talk) 12:24, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
I used VisualEditor. It is very nice as its name suggests.PhysicsScientist (talk) 14:37, 18 April 2017 (UTC)

PA

While you're free to discuss anything about others edits, making arguments like "X rarely loses an argument" definitely borders WP:PA. If you continue to do so, I'll report you. Vensatry (talk) 05:34, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

I did not see myself as making a PA. In fact, some people look with pride at the fact that they have never/seldom lost an argument. But if I attacked you, then I apologise. If I say you are like Nasser from Deiva Thirumagal, or Prakash Raj from Manithan, or the older Sivaji from Gauravam, you would not consider it a PA, would you? --Kailash29792 (talk) 05:43, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
It's indeed a violation of Wikipedia:Comment on content, not on the contributor? Commenting about others personalities, especially when you don't know them personally, is totally unwarranted. Vensatry (talk) 08:14, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) I guess this is supposedly a sweet warning.   ** Pavan Jandhyala ** 17:58, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

High resolution copyrighted images

Hello, I wanted to make sure you are aware that copyrighted images being used under Fair Use Rationales are required to be low-resolution. I was working through a backlog and I noticed images where you have repeatedly uploaded high-resolution versions after a bot comes through and reduces the resolution. One such example is File:Kalathur kannamma.jpg. What you are doing is not allowed, and each time you do it an admin has to come through and perform a revision-deletion on the old HQ copies. Please let me know that you understand this, and that you won't upload any more high-resolution copyrighted images. If both dimensions are over 300px, it is considered high-resolution. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 11:41, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Spike Wilbury, I understand. But I do not have an image-resizing software, that is why I tagged the image for size reducing. Hope you understood. Thanks. --Kailash29792 (talk) 11:45, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
Every modern OS includes free software that can resize images. I'm sure there are instructions readily available for Windows, MacOS, Linux, and so on. When you rely on the bot to do it, an admin has to come through every time and clean up your file history. This creates a lot of extra work, so please resize your images before uploading them. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 11:55, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
Hi Kailash, Windows has Microsoft Office Picture Manager for that purpose. Just right-click on that picture, select Open With. Now among the options there will be MOPM. The option for resizing is available under the "Picture" tab. In case you are using newer versions of MS Office, you will have to use other softwares or install MOPM. Hope that will help!--Skr15081997 (talk) 09:07, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
Skr15081997, I had MS Office Picture Manager before, but after my PC was riddled with viruses, I was forced to reset it, causing the disappearance of MS Office completely (although I backed up everything else, MS Office was impossible to). I think I must buy legally (i.e. Office 2016 which I never had), since pirating it seems impossible, and may lead to further viruses. --Kailash29792 (talk) 09:15, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
I too had some trouble with my computer, that's the reason why I couldn't edit as actively as I did earlier. Back to the basic issue, don't use a pirated version. There are free softwares for photo-editing. You can use GIMP or any other software. Check at CNET, Softonic, Softpedia, FileHippo etc. You will surely find one suiting your preferences. BTW, Congrats on Dhanush filmography's promotion. --Skr15081997 (talk) 09:48, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Baahubali film characters

Hey! I hope you are aware that the film broke every Indian box office record there was. And, since the characters are wildly popular, I think we should create the articles for them. Baahubali, BhallalDeva, Shivagami, Devasena, Kattapa and Avantika, I think they have enough notability and they deserve their own articles. What do you think? Plus, I was wondering if the Production of Baahublai article's name should be changes to Baahubali film series or Franchise.Krish | Talk 08:20, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

Yes, you may go ahead and create List of Baahubali characters. But I await the day when someone will make both the film articles GA, because Pavan isn't gonna be here for long. I also think the article Production of Baahubali should be renamed to Baahubali (franchise) as the films were not shot completely at the same time (40% of The Conclusion was finished during The Beginning's release), and there are numerous tie-in works to the films like the novels and the animates series. --Kailash29792 (talk) 09:22, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
I would have loved to take it to GA but I am leaving this place for a while. But, it will take just a day to fix the article and then could be nominated for GAC. Let's see what happens. Coming to the characters, I think we should create separate articles for each and later we can create the list of characters as well. What's say?Krish | Talk 09:36, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
Based on the availability of third-party sources, yes, pages for the characters can be created. --Kailash29792 (talk) 09:49, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
I just found out that Anuskha is 35 and was kind of shocked. Is she the most popular actress there and does it mean in south age don't matter for actresses?Krish | Talk 16:28, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
Actually, age does matter. Most actresses here lose chances to play heroines when they enter their 30s, unless they are physically fit or still retain their youthful looks. On an unrelated note, you could prevent the Baahubali character pages from being deleted/redirected by adding more sources (put them as hidden comments if you want to use them for later). --Kailash29792 (talk) 16:56, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
Can you upload the character posters of the film?Krish | Talk 05:03, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
By the end of today, yes. --Kailash29792 (talk) 05:09, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

Kannada cinema material

Hi! I noticed that you have been scouting archived newspapers for material on Tamil films. In case you find material related to Kannada cinema, please leave the links here. Thank you! --Editor5454 (talk) 05:24, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

To my knowledge, The Indian Express (Chennai edition) is the only Indian newspaper with archives at Google Newspapers. And I learnt that only after you added the distributor info to Meera. Also, since Kannada films are never released theatrically in Tamil Nadu, I doubt TN newspapers will have info about them. But I'm sure the B'lore TOI archives (pre-2014) will have something. --Kailash29792 (talk) 05:41, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
Yes, those are easily available. But, I am looking for something from the pre-1970 period, Kannada films of which has hardly any info available online. And yes, since only the Chennai edition of The Indian Express is archived at Google Newspapers, it's hard. --Editor5454 (talk) 06:19, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

Nomination of Kattappa for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Kattappa is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kattappa until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Vensatry (talk) 06:43, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

Sampoorna Ramayanam

Hi. I have declined to delete Sampoorna Ramayanamu because there was no consensus to move Sampoorna Ramayanam (1958 film) to that title. Why are you trying to bypass that decision? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:30, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

Because I legitimately opened a discussion to consider moving the page. User:In ictu oculi (the only one to comment on the discussion) is almost always against page moves, and there should have been more editors to discuss the move, rather than let the verdict turn in his favour. --Kailash29792 (talk) 14:33, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
I closed that discussion as no consensus. What you are doing is disruptive and your account will be blocked if you continue. The correct venue to contest the close is Wikipedia:Move review — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:35, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
By saying "no consensus", the verdict actually turned in his favour: not to move the page. Alright, I'll not try to disruptively move the page next time, but please do not close the discussion after only one comment. Instead, try attracting more editors to comment. --Kailash29792 (talk) 14:41, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
No consensus means that the status quo remains. This is true all over Wikipedia. You could try asking for opinions at Wikipedia:WikiProject Film. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:05, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

Sorry I got a little confused over the three different articles. The location of Sampoorna Ramayanam (1958 film) was discussed and closed at the RM discussion. The other two were bold moves by me in response to the suggestion by In ictu oculi and I am happy to revert those. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:15, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

Mahabharat

Do you think Rajamouli should make Mahabharat after this? Who would you like to cast as those legendary characters (actors from all over India;not just Bollywood)? Isn't it too controversial to adapt because of sexual themes?Krish | Talk 09:26, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

I think if Mahabharat or Ramayan were adapted into films, narrow-minded feminists would condemn them after seeing Sita being kidnapped by Ravana, and Draupadi almost disrobed by Dushasana. Besides, I don't think Rajamouli would immediately take on another blockbuster since he just directed two-big budget films. Previously, he made Maryada Ramanna after Magadheera, and S. S. Vasan made Mr. Sampat after Chandralekha. I doubt if Shankar will accept to direct, since his big-budget films are more futuristic. Besides, I think the animated Mahabharat film already gave people an idea on who should play who. --Kailash29792 (talk) 09:44, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
I don't agree with your feminist remark but I believe that the sexual themes will make lot of people fume. I mean we are ready to accept the fact that women were treated horribly in those times, yet we can't take the truth without getting offended because some characters are considered god. Plus, I don't think that tacky animated film is the answer. If I were to make these two epics into films, I would base them in same universe, starting with Ramayan and then Krishna-Kansa episode being shown simultaneously with the Panadavas, leading upto the main event. Though a lot of actors fit the bill, I would avoid casting anyone from Baahubali or the two SLB actors who are playing these kind of roles since the last 4 years. I also think someone should make a film on Chandrakanta. If I am not wrong, it is the only high fantasy novel that India has (Not counting recent works of Amish Tripathi).Krish | Talk 09:56, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) @Krish!: Maybe some of the episodes from these epics can be adapted into films (like how NTR did in the 60s, most of which were successful). Besides, if the Mahabharat was shown in its entirety, it would be longer than Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace. Even Sergei Bondarchuk had to make it in 4 parts.    — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 10:04, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
Well, Ramayan can be adapted for a 3 hour film, that animated Japanese film is a great example. But, Mahabharata had to be a three part saga and if one would include Krishna-Kansa episode, three more. India has so many source materials but nobody has courage to make films out of it. A great film series can be made on Maratha Empire, Mughal Empire, British Raj (every single incident leading to the independence), what we get is tacky melodramatic tv series.Krish | Talk 10:13, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
I think there has been no full-length feature film adaptation of Mahabharat in India because no Indian director may have realised that they could shoot one big film, then split it into multiple parts (a la Kill Bill), although Gangs of Wasseypur may be an exception. --Kailash29792 (talk) 10:16, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
If I am not wrong Rajamouli will next make a small (you wish; less on spectacle) for Dharma Productions starring Alia Bhatt, afterall Karan Johar will not let this chance to slip for two obvious reasons (Alia and a chance of getting a Pan-India entertainer). However, I am mostly looking forward to see The Immortals of Meluha films (also starring Alia Bhatt as Sati; not kidding). But one thing is for sure the success of Baahubali films will definitely cause other directors to think bigger and better. I don't think Shankar will make something so old but you cannot underestimate SLB and off course Ketan Mehta is making Manukarnika.Krish | Talk 10:30, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
@Krish!: Alia as Sati!? Don't make me laugh. I'd much rather put Anushka (Shetty, not Sharma) again in that role as the character in Amish's novels is a widow before Shiva marries her. SLB will definitely go for something with a period setting. He is already doing that with Padmavati, but why DP in every role? Try to get her to increase some weight at least as she was quite skinny in Bajirao Mastani. BTW, I got tickets to Baahubali 2 on the 9th at The Forum Vijaya.    — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 10:55, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
Good to know that you got the tickets. Now coming back to Alia Bhatt, well Karan Johar is not going to give that important role to any other actress, just like every Dharma film. Initially, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan were rumoured to be in talks for that film for Sati and Shiva respectively. I feel Priyanka fits perfectly but having seen Baahubali, I completely agree with you, Anushka would be the best choice. Talking about Padmavati, frankly I am not at all interested in this film, it all depends on the reviews. I saw Bajirao Mastani only because of Kashibai and I wasn't dissapointed. Turning every great warrior story into a love story is ridiculous. I still haven't seen Ram Leela. SLB had promised his next with Priyanka but went ahead and cast DP. I don't understand the obsession of casting one actor for so many legendary characters. In fact, he had also replaced Priyanka with her in Ram Leela. I am waiting for that day when he announces that one big film with her as a director.Krish | Talk 11:18, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

The Indian Express

Hi, You often quote Indian Express archived by Google. I kindly request you to find this article. In the early seventies former Chief of the Indian Army Field Marshal K M Cariappa wrote a two piece article in The Indian Express. The crux of the article was the type of Government India needed then. He used a phrase 'Benevolent Dictatorship'. Can you please oblige. Thank you.--UKSharma3 02:19, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

Sir, do you remember the exact date? Regarding the 70s, Google has only managed to archive papers published in the year 1970 (that too, not all of them). Since they have scanned them like pictures, doing text search seems impossible. To my knowledge, one can find the desired article only by manually reading the paper. --Kailash29792 (talk) 02:58, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
Sorry Kailash. Only the above information is available. I am also trying with different keywords.--UKSharma3 05:08, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

Hey Kailash, can you take a look at the "Characterization" section of the article. There are so many emotions that I seem to be pouring into the article at the moment, and I just want to make sure that they are translating in the right manner. Let me know if there anything I can do to improve the section. (I hope that this doesn't turn into too much work for you.) Thanks. NumerounovedantTalk 21:20, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

It is indeed too stressful to look into a topic I don't frequently edit about. But I'll give you a few suggestions: use her surname (to comply with MOS:SURNAME), arrange the categories alphabetically (use MS Word or alphabetizer for this) and try expanding the lead section to include at least two paragraphs. Also, the "Storylines" section seems too convoluted; either try reducing it, or adding subheadings. --Kailash29792 (talk) 08:45, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Anushka Shetty filmography

I think you should trim Anushka's filmography. It looks too large. You can model it after Priyanka Chopra's. Three short and to the point paragraphs, which will make it look nice. I am so obssesed with the Baahubali cast, especially Anushka.Krish | Talk 12:18, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

With pleasure. It just seems hard to see what to cut out. But I'm sure a lot of mindless masalas in the 2007-08 era can be removed from the lead, since those films were not meant for awards or cultural significance, just penny plucking. And she wasn't well utilised in them either. --Kailash29792 (talk) 12:28, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
I just read her article' sub section and read a review of Super (listed in the article) and it stunned me. What kind of shitty reviews are written in south? Actress' bodies and blah blah. One review says "Their angles and curves provide all the glamour and keep you engrossed". Angles? and this is beyond tolerating limit "Anushka has all the assets to that a woman ought to have". What assets? I am m=not a feminist (though I believe in equality) but this is ridiculous.Krish | Talk 12:43, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

Roger Ebert has mentioned about the defunct website in his review of Bandit Queen. So, it shows that it is quite a reliable source.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 15:05, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

I think old Indolink articles still exist, but typing www.indolink.com redirects to Sify, indicating the site was renamed, or Sify is a different site descended from Indolink. This book (read page 88) mentions Indolink and Sify as being among the popular Indian American community websites of the 1990s, so I think that helps its notability. But some editors (no prizes for guessing!) will outright reject them as non-RS, simply because they are websclusive (web-exclusive), and will not campaign to have Wiki declare them reliable. Me and you failed miserably in establishing Behindwoods as RS, but I won't let the same happen here. --Kailash29792 (talk) 15:40, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
BW need not necessarily be used, unless it is an exclusive interview or pictures that show proof (like KB's letter to Shankar) of its article's content.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 15:48, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

Gaalipata

Hi Kailash! Thank you for "rescuing the sources" in Gaalipata. This is a page that I developed (Kannada123 is my old account) and have since nominated for a WP:GA status. Let alone FA, no Kannada film has a GA status. Could you please look into it and help reach GA?

Also, I never used that account "abusively" like it is written on the page. I used that and Mayurai~enwiki only to contribute to articles of my two areas of interest: cinema and sports. It must have overlapped somewhere and I was blocked for WP:Sock puppetry without a warning. I was given a chance to "appeal" but, wasn't heard. I didn't know who else to talk to on this. My passion is just contribution on Wikipedia, so I don't generally read the extremely lengthy and pain-to-read Wiki policies. I would be very happy if you could combine the records of the said two accounts to this that I am currently using. I am not sure if there is such a thing or if you are authorized to do it, but, thank you! Editor5454 (talk) 13:50, 13 May 2017 (UTC)

Please give a very convincing confession to an admin, and perhaps they will avoid blocking you. I am looking forward to seeing more GAs and FAs related to Kannada cinema. --Kailash29792 (talk) 14:19, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
Alright, thanks! —Editor5454 (talk) 14:23, 13 May 2017 (UTC)

Shodhganga

This can be very helpful to find sources for older films and other important Indian topics using the thesis they host. Please read this for citing thesis as a source in the articles. ** Pavan Jandhyala ** 17:36, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Pavan, thank you very much for this. I found one Shodhganga thesis via Google search, but I can't trace it's author. Do you know how to find it at Shodhganga? --Kailash29792 (talk) 07:29, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
This is it. You had the answer yourself if you looked at the URLs carefully once. :) ** Pavan Jandhyala ** 07:41, 14 May 2017 (UTC)

Indic titles in infobox okay if using 'film name' parameter

@Cyphoidbomb: made a good case for them, which I agreed with here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Film/Indian_cinema_task_force/Archive_5#Indic_titles

Unfortunately, Vensatry doesn't agree; he removed an indic script, citing WP:INDICSCRIPT, which links to this. --Kailash29792 (talk) 02:29, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
