  Hello, Karenboman. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 19:50, 20 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Oceaneering International. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Chris Troutman (talk) 20:05, 22 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Drmies (talk) 01:06, 23 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I have had trouble understanding where exactly I need to disclose my relationship with Oceaneering, as well as using Wikipedia in general. I work in the company's marketing communications group, and my boss asked me to correct the spelling of the CEO's name and update the site. After I was warned about using press releases, I did try and use articles instead of press releases, but apparently, that was viewed incorrect as well. At the very least, the CEO's name on the Wikipedia entry for Oceaneering needs to be changed. It is spelled incorrectly. At the very least, I would like to have access so I can correct his name and the financial information. I won't mess with the rest of the section since it seems to cause problems. I am here to help build an encyclopedia -- why would you want an encyclopedia with the names of company officials spelled wrong? Just please let me correct the CEO's name, and I will never be involved in Wikipedia again.

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only; it appears that the CEO's name has been fixed. Since you state you no longer wish to participate here once that is resolved, there is no need to unblock you. If you later decide to participate in Wikipedia as an individual, you are welcome to make a new request when there is something that you want to edit. 331dot (talk) 16:27, 26 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I reviewed the Oceaneering article again, and realized the information about the company's establishment in 1964 is not correct. A predecessor company of Oceaneering was founded in 1964. Oceaneering itself was formed in 1969 from three diving companies. Another fact in the article needs to be updated. The last paragraph discusses an award to BAE Systems for the construction of a ship. The ship was originally scheduled for delivery in 2016 -- it is coming out this spring (delays with the shipyard pushed the date back). I understand that my affiliation with the company represents a conflict of interest. I just wondered if someone who is not affiliated with the company could look into these two matters and correct the first fact. The announcement about the ship should be coming out next month or in May.

Decline reason:

This is not an unblock request. Nor is it appropriate for you to request edits while you are blocked. Yamla (talk) 00:12, 29 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

I have fixed your request so it is properly visible; someone else will review it. However, while blocked the only legitimate use of this page is to request to be unblocked, you cannot use it to request that others make edits on your behalf. Have you changed your mind about participating here? 331dot (talk) 21:01, 28 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
