Deletion of Afghan units, -9,000

edit

I would like to clarify that the Afghan military units mentioned in the Battle of Jalalabad (1989) are real and have taken part in the battle. They have NOT been generated by AI. AfghanParatrooper1989 (talk) 18:40, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Afghan Army (1978-1992)

edit

I have just found E. G. Nikitenko, Afghanistan: From the war of the 80s to the forecast of new wars. at http://militera.lib.ru/research/nikitenko_eg01/index.html, with what was the list of equipment that formed the only new part of this article. It's for 1 February 1986, and personnel listed as 141,500 (60% of shtat) and it's for the entire armed forces. It's not pp130-134 it's on p131, and the tank figure has been altered from 768 to 1568.

Do you think we can AfD the entire article and just add the reported equipment list (it has percentages of shtat) to Afghan Army? Buckshot06 (talk) 00:30, 13 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I checked Nititenko's book earlier, but I didn't notice that. Definitely a TNT case. Kges1901 (talk) 01:57, 13 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Reference for soviet human losses at Prokhorovka

edit

Hello, Further to our exchange on the topic - and your answer - could you please confirm the exact reference for the latest Zamulin work on the topic : In the talk page, you mention the 2016 version of his book while the reference in the main article mentions 2017. (Prokhorovka: The Unknown Battle of the Great War] (in Russian). Moscow: Yauza. ISBN 978-5-906716-63-7). I suppose 2017 is correct ? Sorry for nitpicking but I am planning to use this as a ref in the french article and would like to get it right. Thanks in advance & kind regards, Domenjod (talk) 14:24, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your GA nomination of Aleksandr Borisovich Rodionov

edit

The article Aleksandr Borisovich Rodionov you nominated as a good article has passed  ; see Talk:Aleksandr Borisovich Rodionov for comments about the article, and Talk:Aleksandr Borisovich Rodionov/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility.
