Hi Kijog, There seem to be two translation listing pages at the moment:

• Wikipedia:Translation/Diocese_of_Urgell, and another at
• Wikipedia:Translation_into_English#Catalan-to-English.

I understand you were there first and so I'm happy for you to continue with the translation of the article. I have been working in a sandbox anyway (user:madeinsane/Sandbox: Diocese of Urgell Translation), so have not touched any work by you so far. Yeah, why not? Although featured status could be the start of a whole host of 'woollyback' attacks! I've been contacted by Mark McLean (the guy who wrote the short history) and i asked him if we could borrow some of the olden time images of Askam (permission and copyright allowing...I'll have to read up on that). This would be my wishlist to take the article on further: Kijog 10:43, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

• I think the windfarm debate needs more (I should know - I lived through the years of planning battles)
• The Inshore Rescue (Hardly anything on the internet for this one)
• Crossing the Sands (Queen's Guide etc.)
• The Rankin Hall (apparently a former Methodist chapel)
• Askam Town Silver Band (are they still going?) - the culture that Rlevse was talking about? :-)
• Photos when the weather is better
• Parish Council logo

I am currently working on expanding the explanation of the refs a bit. You referenced [1] as a source for what was said about the four roads meeting, but I can't make head or tail of it. If this wasn't one of your references, please tell me, but I don't see this as a suitable reference- it would make a good external link though. New church image

Great picture, and it completely slipped my mind to take new pictures myself. Have you got new pictures for everything, or just the Church? If there are any pictures that need to be taken, I will go now. J Milburn 13:49, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

You could do - borrowed my dad's camera last time I was home but it ran out of memory! Have images of church, temp hall and catholic church (yes, it does actually exist but is out of use i think!) will add soon. Anything else you could do a shot of as the weather is nice! Cheers! Yeah, I updated the Church info a few weeks ago- there are a lot more than I thought, and I consulted my Christian friend and he confirmed the stuff from GENUKI, the site that I used as a source. Just shows- I have lived here all my life! I will set off now, and get pictures of as much good stuff as I can. I think we need to be careful about crowding the article with images, as I think I did last time, but it is hard to decide what to remove. Just my luck- it has clouded over. Nevermind. As for replacing like-for-like, there are a couple of images we don't have, but should have. The other churches and the sign welcoming you to Askam and Ireleth on the bypass are the two that spring to mind. It would also be nice to have some older images- there are a few about of Askam during the 19th century. If I ever find myself in Barrow library, I'll see what I can find. Agree about the panorama shot- my current camera would never manage it, but my dad is in the process of ordering a new one, so that could be possible. That is good news about the older pictures- hopefully there will be some good ones. I love what you have done with the logo in the infobox, but I think we are gonna have to think about copyright for it. I am honestly not sure what the copyright status would be, but I have just been reminded to go out and take photos, so I will do that now! By the way, thanks a lot for your support in my RfA. Yeah, I am kinda with you on this. I am just thinking though- we intend to take this all the way to featured, that is EXACTLY the kind of thing that people at FAC would moan about. Creative Commons image

I am not great on these licenses myself, but I am learning! Not many Creative Commons licenses are 'free' by Wikipedia's rules, but these are. They are cc-by-sa-2.0, the appropriate tag for which can be found here. I didn't think they were- I thought that they couldn't be used commercially or modified as it didn't say explicitly that they could, but, if you look at the upload form, that is the only license the site allows, and the license definately does allow those things. Dunnerholme pic

Well, generally, galleries are not that respected, so it will probably be best to keep it strictly as a 'public buildings' gallery. On the other hand, I have a slightly better picture of Dunnerholme now, taken from the top of Ireleth, but I really don't think it is strictly needed. Ireleth signpost picture

Well, our objective is to build a free encyclopedia- if we just have permission to use it on Wikipedia, it isn't free! I am not sure why that choice is still on the drop down menu- it counts for nothing now. Ask if you can release it under a free license- either place it in the public domain, or release it under the GFDL, Creative Commons is slightly more complex, so I wouldn't bother. As it is just a picture of a signpost, I am sure he will be happy to comply. J Milburn 17:26, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Barrow in Furness offensive

Hi, nice to see you back! Reverting, without the use of certain programs or administrative tools, can be best done like this- click the history tab, go to the last good edit, click to view it, click to edit it, and click to save. For instance, if you edit, and then there are several small vandalism edits afterwards, go back into history, view your good revision, click to edit it, and then save it without making any edits. Mention the discussion you have started on the talk page in your edit summaries when doing so. I'll go and take a look at the article now and talk page now. J Milburn 09:32, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your note about citations for the shipbuilding history material I added to the Barrow article. The reason why I didn't add a citation was because I'm not sure how to do it! The info came from a very old (hard-back) book I've got which was published in 1896. However, there's no author as such - it appears to be an 'in-house' publication of The Naval and Armaments Company Limited. It also says at the front Partly Reprinted from "Engineering" which I think might have been a magazine of the day. I'm not even sure what the title is - on the front cover it says Vickers, Sons & Maxim Limited, late Vickers, Sons & Co Limited - Naval Construction Works BARROW IN FURNESS. But inside it says: The Works at Barrow-in-Furness of The Naval Construction and Armaments Company Limited - Historical and Descriptive. Your various Barrow-related expansions

I saw what you did with Barrow-in-Furness, and you have made a really good job of it. It won't take much more now, so well done with that. I wonder what your thoughts on a Furness portal would be? If you aren't familiar with portals, you can take a read about them here. Basically, they are like a very specific main page. I was considering a Cumbria portal, but I am pretty certain that it would quickly become very Furness-centric. For some similar ones, see Portal:Cornwall, Portal:Kent or Portal:Somerset. Barrow-in-Furness

Hello Kijog! Thanks for the contact. In addition to the slight changes I made, you should now find that the Barrow-in-Furness infobox has an automated county map!

On Barrow's prose, it's broadly very good - and I'd consider nominating it for official good article status, if not now, then very shortly. There are a few problems however, like as you say, the trivia section. Those pieces might be better served by a "Filmography" section. The list of notable people may be better served by a table? Lists are generally discouraged.

WP:UKCITIES are guidelines on how to properly set out and write about settlements - you may find this useful. You could also (when ready), nominate the article to have an automated Peer Review. Finally, take a look at some Featured settlement articles, such as Sheffield or Shaw and Crompton for ideas (such as a different, and increasingly popular approach to putting demographic data into a table).

Housewife, 49 in filmography section

I think the filmography section should keep a mention of the programme, even if it is already mentioned elsewhere. It seems rather misleading to have a filmography section and yet not mention an award winning and very relevent drama. If you think that filmography would be better converted into prose and placed in relevent sections, then we should do it with all of the films mentioned, or remove them, but I think having the section, yet not mentioning Housewife, 49 is a little odd. Home straight?

I think we are wonderfully close, and this is looking like it will be easily the best article I have ever worked on. I reckon once we have nominated it for GA (and worked on the reviewer's recommendations) we should nominate for peer review and go for featured. Let's be fair, there's some substance to Barrow that Askam doesn't really have- I don't think there will be much we need to do before this is of featured standard. I'll have a good look over the article and add anything I can see to the to-do list. J Milburn 13:13, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

It's quite a long article, we may want more than two paragraphs in the lead anyway. As for demography- I think the second table is pretty useless, and there are a couple of awkward things which could do with some refs in there. "Barrow-in-Furness can be regarded as the largest town in Cumbria, Carlisle in the north of the county having city status" could do with a ref, and "The life female life expactancy at birth is 80.40 years, and male life expectancy is 74.80 (both around 1.50 years below UK average)" definitely needs one. Ethnicity, country of birth and religion seems relevant, and should probably be converted into prose and kept, I reckon. J Milburn 13:40, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
