Strongly Discouraged Indeed

Indeed! These are my parting words: Wikipedia states that writing about yourself is "strongly discouraged", that does not mean it is not allowed. And it says it is discouraged because the article I may write may not be neutral or I may not be notable, or I many not cite reputable references. Yes, I wrote the article myself, but then criticize it for notability, for fairness or for the references I use. You guys seem way more concerned with fighting petty turf wars than actually improving Wikipedia. How very discouraging indeed!

Why obvious copyright infringement?

Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Writing about yourself

You are welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, but it is not a place like Facebook or LinkedIn for people to write about themselves. It is a quite different sort of site, a project to build an encyclopedia, so it is selective about subjects for articles. Writing about oneself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography. It is better for you to let a disinterested third party write about you, if and when you meet Wikipedia's notability criteria for people.
