editRe your edits to St. Aloysius College, Mangalore -- they are not acceptable as they are not reliably sourced. Long-winded edit summaries DO NOT substitute for reliable sourcing. Nirva20 (talk) 04:52, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Speedy deletion nomination of File:MarThattilRaphel.jpeg
editA tag has been placed on File:MarThattilRaphel.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation of https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=122107209746185880&set=a.122104344506185880 and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. Wikipedia and copyright
editHello KnowledgeHunter6788! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's elegibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 13:21, 22 May 2024 (UTC)

editYour recent editing history at Raphael Thattil shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Please stop. If you continue to move pages to bad titles contrary to naming conventions or consensus, as you did at St. Aloysius College (Mangalore), you may be blocked from editing. There is no evidence of a rename to "St. Aloysius University" at the school's website. While they do use "St. Aloysius (Deemed-to-be-University)", they also use "St. Aloysius College" on the site. Accordingly, you need to get consensus through the WP:Requested moves process before you move the page. —C.Fred (talk) 18:53, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- Yes! They do use. Deemed to be University. KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 18:56, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for acknowledging that they do not use "University" standing along. —C.Fred (talk) 19:00, 22 May 2024 (UTC)

- Sorry for that, you were getting on my nerves. Just answer my question, did you see the University website saying in big letters St Aloysius Deemed to be University, also did you see multiple citations on the page regarding deemed to be University status. KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 19:08, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- I refer you to my comment made at 18:53 UTC, still visible above. —C.Fred (talk) 19:09, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- ooh sorry missed that, i am on a bumpy bus and i was not able to read it properly. So do you have any objection in changing the title of the page to St Aloysius Deemed to be University? KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 19:12, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- I refer you not only to the comment above but also to the message on the the article's talk page. To quote myself, "As a general rule, our article titles lag when institutions change names; we can wait until after they officially change the name to change the article." At some level, we may also need to see what the common name is that will be used by the press: "St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University)", "St. Aloysius College", or just "St. Aloysius". —C.Fred (talk) 19:17, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, The institution changed its name on January 2024, they even changed all the name boards here to St. Aloysius University from St. Aloysius College. All the communications from the university and to the university are in the new name which is St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), do you want me to share a copy of an official communication made by the University, is it enough proof for the name change, also latest news articles also refers to the institution as University. KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 19:29, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- If you have links to news reporting that call it "St. Aloysius University", it should be called that, not "St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University)". Please link this reporting. ~ Pbritti (talk) 19:32, 22 May 2024 (UTC)

The DaijiWorld article looks like a paid-for press release. The articles in The Hindu indicates that this is a change in legal status rather than an actual change of name. There's a quote in the Times of India article that suggests this may be a formal name change, but as far as I can tell this is more about removing the term "College" from the name. ~ Pbritti (talk) 19:44, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- If you want more proof i will try to share the image of the main entrance of the institution where the name board clearly says St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University) KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 19:46, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- I dont understand you people, is it not clear that the name of the institution is now St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University). Why are you so adamant you are not even from India. What more proof do you want? KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 19:48, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- Times of India article clearly states KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 19:52, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- Image which shows the entrance The name St. Aloysius Deemed to be University is clearly visible. KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 20:06, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- Front of the admin block. Here also you can see the new name. KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 20:08, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- If you want more proof, i can share more images and videos to prove that it is St. Aloysius University not college, shall i get a video from the vice chancellor or dean themselves to prove it you guys so that we can edit a Wikipedia page. KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 20:18, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- You have not provided anything that says it is St. Aloysius University, only "St. Aloysius Deemed to be University". —C.Fred (talk) 20:22, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- Do you not understand me. It is now called St. Aloysius Deemed to be University. I have provided solid proof for that. KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 20:27, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- Btw in India Deemed to be University and University are used synonymously. Fine with not calling it University, do you object in changing the title to St. Aloysius Deemed to be University after providing you people with enough proofs. KnowledgeHunter6788 (talk) 20:31, 22 May 2024 (UTC)

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you move a page disruptively, as you did at St. Aloysius College (Mangaluru). You were previously told to follow the directions at WP:RM. If you are unwilling or unable to do so, your account will be blocked to preserve the integrity of the project. —C.Fred (talk) 20:43, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- I don't care, I was just trying to provide correct information, you don't even understand facts. Do you get paid to spread misinformation. Im sorry but i guess Wikipedia is now hijacked by some guys who thinks they know everything, people cannot even tell facts that are infront of there eyes, nothing pleases the self proclaimed lords and queens of Wikipedia.
