Speedy deletion nomination of Uganda Internet Exchange Point
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Uganda Internet Exchange Point requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.uixp.co.ug/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Uganda Internet Exchange Point
editHello Kylespencer,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Uganda Internet Exchange Point for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

editGood evening/morning
With regards to the e-mail and the deletion of the page it refers to, reviewing the logs available the webpage that was linked as a copyvio was at the point of it being tagged not recorded as having the relevant licence reported as being held on the page - [1], though the licence is now there prior to this there was no legitimate or appropriate link or authorisation for this information to be used on Wikipedia in the format presented. With the licence now attached and visible the copyright issue is now (mostly) resolved. there are some tweaks that need making to the article to attribute it however which can be made shortly. I cant guarantee they will be actioned tonight (as its currently 00:20 here) but i wil lmake notes on the article advising that licencing has been allocated on the site. Uganda Internet Exchange Point moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Uganda Internet Exchange Point, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) In addition, there appears to be a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 02:38, 22 January 2022 (UTC)

SiliconRed (he/him) (talk) 11:54, 1 March 2022 (UTC)- I've approved this article after modifying the citation usage and removing primary sources. Please do be mindful if you continue to edit of your COI, and follow the conflict of interest guide: WP:COIE. In short:
- Be transparent about your conflict of interest.
- Do not edit or create articles about yourself, your family or friends, your organization, your clients, or your competitors.
- Post suggestions and sources on the article's talk page, or in your user space.
- The role of editors is to summarize, inform, and reference; not promote, whitewash, or sell.
- Article subjects require significant coverage in independent reliable sources.
- State facts and statistics; don't be vague or general.
- Take time to get sources and policy right.
- Get neutral, uninvolved, disinterested editors to review your suggestions.
- Respect the volunteer community's time; avoid making protracted or repeated requests.
- Now that this article is on the mainspace, you should make a WP:EDITREQUEST on its talk page if you would like to add to the article rather than editing it directly. Thanks! SiliconRed (he/him) (talk) 13:54, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
