Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. You might want to note that we follow a policy of neutral point of view here; edits (like those to phrenology) that advocate aren't what we're looking for. You're advised to discuss your edits with others on talk pages, especially when they're so major and controversial. Yours, Meelar 20:22, 14 May 2004 (UTC)
- Not a problem. On a warmer note, welcome to Wikipedia--I look forward to seeing you around. Yours, Meelar 20:53, 14 May 2004 (UTC)
Your recent edits to phrenology have been quite helpful, and I now know a lot more about the topic than I used to. Thanks very much, especially for the picture. Best, Meelar 01:02, 15 May 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Onzeh2.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) Thanks so much, – Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 16:29, Oct 5, 2004 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Onzeh2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Onzeh2.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stan 05:08, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

POV Comments in Lead Paragraphs
Hi LHOON. Thanks for the note. I respect (and share) your feelings about Heineken pale lager, however I have again removed the sentence in Heineken because:
- A) It's POV ("Writing from your local perspective on non-local pages. Excessive assumption of local readership when writing about a topic specific to your locality. And, of course, opinion and bias")
- B) It was inappropriately placed in the lead paragraphs - where the most vital information is placed.
- C) We don't need to list negative comments unless there is some point to be made.
- D) There are no meaningful or interesting statistics to back what you are asserting.
- E) The article is about the brewery, not the beer. As a brewing company Heineken own Affligem, and overall have the third highest marketshare of beer sales in Belgium.
I did pick up another misplaced beer (rather than brewery) comment in the lead paragraphs and moved that - and I will now change the name of the article to Heineken Brewery. I hope that will make clear the article is about the brewing company and not one of its products. I welcome your comments. Cheers! SilkTork 08:24, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I always get nervous when there is a difference of opinion as sometimes these things can turn nasty. I like the way you have handled this - getting in touch to let me know what you have done, and then getting in touch again to acknowledge what I have done, even though indicating some disagreement. Some other people have not been so understanding and I tend to be a bit defensive these days! As for individual articles for beer brands: the Wiki beer project is against this. Individual beers are rarely encyclopedic and can be better dealt with in a fuller more encyclopedic article on the brewery or brewery company. Though, as you say, there may well be scope in the future for individual entries if enough interesting information can be gathered on a beer. Cheers! SilkTork 09:17, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Communities in Antwerp
I realized to late thatI had only a map of Antwerp instead of Flanders. I wanted to change it now. But it seems to be that you were faster. Sorry for this fault and I hope you haven't put too much time in it. Wolvenraider 10:36, 8 May 2006 (UTC) = wolvenraider at the dutch wiki.

Hi,
ik heb momenteel het initiatief genomen voor het nieuwe WikiProject Belgium, neem eens een kijkje en als je geïnteresseerd bent aarzel dan niet om je bij de deelnemers te zetten!
VITO
Hi, changing the disambiguation page "VITO" into a redirect to the Flemish research institute only is in my opinon not a good idea. The fans of "Vito" the American wrestler, may not take this lightly (I always try to be diplomatic). Pvosta 12:30, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
The VITO page was empty. I will adapt it and redirect it to the Vito page (which I didn't know of) instead. This will leave place for other VITO's or Vito's to be added when needed. LHOON 13:19, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Railway stations in Belgium
Hi, LHOON.
I hope you don't mind that (on the grounds that bold should be reserved for the introductory statement of the subject) I "unbolded" the NMBS codes that you added to Belgian railway station articles.
I wonder whether you would agree with me that the articles on Delta station, Mérode station, Schuman station, etc. would be better split, with separate articles on the railway and metro stations.
Very glad to see that you are interested in railways -- a little saddened, though, that you chose to call them "railroads" ;) ... -- Picapica 23:25, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comments.
- OK for unbolding the codes, italic is good enough for me. I'll also make an article on the use and origin of these codes.
- As for railway/railroad, I will try to use consistent denomination railway in the future.
- I intend to add a number of extra articles on Belgian stations the next week (which is holiday of course) including some pictures, and splitting the Brussels stations which are also metro stops. The ideal would be to have them all, with appropriate infoboxes for each railway line, as is done for UK stations. This will be a work for the long run however... LHOON 00:06, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I'm User:Kjoonlee (talk: User talk:Kjoonlee) posting from a friend's house. Personally, I don't think a section on nose shapes and stereotypes belongs in an article on noses in general. I've made my comments at Talk:Nose; I think you should take a look if you're interested. Thank you. 61.72.41.169 02:02, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Proposed Wikipedia talk:Notability (news)
In the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Murder of Tom ap Rhys Pryce in which you participated, some editors suggested the need for a guideline where a consensus could be reached regarding whether everything which is newsworthy is also encyclopedic. I have created a draft of a proposed guideline Wikipedia talk:Notability (news). Your input is welcome. Thanks. Edison 15:19, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi, you uploaded Image:Drillpress.jpg to the English Wikipedia and it's been moved to Wikimedia Commons. However, you never specified the source of the image. It's now scheduled for deletion from Commons for lacking a source. If you are interested in saving the image, please go to Image:Drillpress.jpg and tell us where you got it from. Replaceable fair use Image:Onzeh2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Onzeh2.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 01:02, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Brussels Metro
Hi LHOON, I don't understand why you re-applied this spam-edit, forming part of massive cross-wiki spam. Anyway that website is listed on the spam blacklist by now. GijsvdL 10:56, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi, i'm the user who add the great link of a new website that shows a quasi-full database of metro, lines, stations in the whole world. I still understand why wikipedians still want to add my link in the "spam blacklist". The website add something a website marked all along wikipedia named 'UrbanRail' don't give, is the full database of stations in whole world. I think wikipedians will loose something not having this great link and i ask some help to "deblock" my link from the "spam blacklist".
Thks for your advise contact via the website

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Firmness (Phrenology), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Image:Gillsans.gif listed for deletion
An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Gillsans.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 03:56, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Benevolence
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Benevolence, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Matt Deres (talk) 04:16, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:BernardHollander.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:BernardHollander.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 02:40, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Your edit on Phase out of incandescent light bulbs
The article is not about CFLs at all, thus I wonder why highly technical information about CFLs is being re-added? I don't understand the sentence at all to be honest, and I'd like some clarification on what it means, but most importantly on how it's relevant to the phasing out of incandescent light bulbs? It is notable that the measure to phase out the bulbs largely effects consumer installations/replacement bulbs and not businesses (thus further demonstrating the text you re-added is inappropriate for this specific article). I'm not saying the text is inaccurate or wrong, but that it just doesn't make sense to some and that it really has no place in that article. Cheers. Nja247 (talk • contribs) 22:35, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Power quality remains an issue however, and should be mentioned when dealing with the CFL issue. Things like harmonics and power factors may seem esoteric to you, but this site just exists to clarify them and make things understood, rather than provide shallow consumer-style information. The linked articles about these subjects actually provide a good introduction. The main problem is these issues are often overlooked in policy discussions about CFL. So I have moved these informations and the references to the main article about CFLs themselves. LHOON (talk) 23:06, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- I believe your placement of the concern in the main CFL article makes complete sense. Cheers. Nja247 (talk • contribs) 08:58, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Psychognomy
....needs referencing.==Speedy deletion of Psychognomy==
A tag has been placed on Psychognomy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Buddpaul (talk) 04:37, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
You reverted my recent amends to this article. I'm not clear why. There's no explanation in the talk page nor an effort to resolve problems over a well-intentioned - and referenced update - (BTW, the reinstated citation doesn't point to anything specific; maybe it needs to be refined). The article has been subsequently over-hauled by another editor, so I'm not about to start a war! Anyway, I'd like to understand your reasons. Folks at 137 (talk) 15:50, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- You had rightly reverted the unsuitable material added by 79.155.80.221, but in this process removed also some good material that was there before (such as the reference to the expression rhodie bashing), so I reverted maybe a bit too roughly. Let's see how it goes with the new edits in order to appraise the article and take action if necessary. Sorry for the confusion. LHOON (talk) 19:08, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. My own additions had been about control methods, which I may restore while there is ongoing activity - this would ensure any necessary critical editing by more knowledgeable editors. Folks at 137 (talk) 09:59, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- In the meantime, I restored your control edit which seemed interesting LHOON (talk) 16:19, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Rash only warning
174.27.179.193 has only made one edit, and you still give the user a only warning? I think it was way too early for a final-/only warning. I understand you wanted him to stop vandalizing immediately after his first edit, but we usually don't give them a final warning immediately. Give them at least a chance. Please do not bite the newcomers. Instead, start by giving them a level 1- or 2 warning. Thank you. /HeyMid (contributions) 18:24, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
