editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to The Golden Compass (film), did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. When making controversial, unsourced changes, please be sure your edit summary is accurate... SummerPhD (talk) 04:27, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Wilkins Micawber, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Additionally, please limit your use of the "minor" edit indicator to edits which do not change the content of the article (e.g., correcting misspellings and such). File source problem with File:Behave Yourself! Title card (1951, Film).jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Behave Yourself! Title card (1951, Film).jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 03:03, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Shark Boy and Lava Girl, CD, Back Cover (2005).jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Shark Boy and Lava Girl, CD, Back Cover (2005).jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. The article Blue Money (Film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- 1. no indication of notability 2. unreferenced
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Widefox (talk) 16:55, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Blue Money (1972) Movie Poster.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Blue Money (1972) Movie Poster.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Widefox (talk) 14:50, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:--Blue Money-- (1970), Jim, --Allain Patrick--, Lisa, --Barbara Caron--, and Baby, --Vanessa Chappuis-- look out to the ocean..jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:--Blue Money-- (1970), Jim, --Allain Patrick--, Lisa, --Barbara Caron--, and Baby, --Vanessa Chappuis-- look out to the ocean..jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. editThanks for uploading File:Berkeley Square (1933, Lobby Card).jpg.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Orphaned non-free media (File:Annabeth Chase, Camp Half-Blood..jpg)
editThanks for uploading File:Annabeth Chase, Camp Half-Blood..jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:22, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Gigi Parrish and Lon Chaney Jr., in Girl o' My Dreams (1934).jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Gigi Parrish and Lon Chaney Jr., in Girl o' My Dreams (1934).jpg.
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Julie London, Ray Calhoun, and Allene Roberts filming The Red House (1947)..jpg
editA tag has been placed on File:Julie London, Ray Calhoun, and Allene Roberts filming The Red House (1947)..jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Nancy Kulp
editGreetings. On November 30, I deleted part of the article on actress Nancy Kulp, making the claim that it is unsubstantiated gossip. You revert this on December 4, claiming it was "well documented". I am not going to change the article again as I don't want to get involved in an edit war. However, for your enlightenment or amusement or whatever, I'll state this:
This matter of dispute revolves around a quote from a writer named Boze Hadleigh in his book Hollywood Lesbians (1994). In this book, as well as an earlier effect, Hollywood Gays, Hadleigh presents interviews that he supposedly conducted with many film and television celebrities who openly discuss their homosexuality. Several years ago, I was at a dinner party with noted entertainment historian and writer Anthony Slide. The subject of Hadleigh's books came up and Mr. Slide mentioned that Hadleigh was a hack and a fraud. All of the people Hadleigh supposedly interviewed were dead by the time his books were published and that these interviews were figments of his imaginations. This is also the belief of another noted film historian, Randy Skretvedt. Nancy Kulp was one of the celebrities that died well before the publication of Hollywood Lesbians. Thus, I contented that his quote is unreliable and should not be presented in the article about her. If you check the disputed claims section of Wikipedia's bio of Hadleigh you will see examples of his ineptness.
Hadleigh's writings should be heaped together with other "writers" of his ilk, such as the late Charles Higham, Darwin Porter, Scotty Bowers, David Bret, and Marc Eliot. Using them as sources material is about the same as using the National Inquirer. It makes Wikipedia look as cheap and unreliable as its harshest critics say it is.
I'll leave it to you to ponder my comments. Jimknut (talk) 21:30, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

The file File:Roxanne Arlen and Eddie Ryder (1956), in Hot Rod Girl-2.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Paul Misraki.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Paul Misraki.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
