 Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Grayfell (talk) 20:07, 17 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Lanacoisetinne. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Head Gear Films, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Lanacoisetinne. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Lanacoisetinne|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:27, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I am not being compensated for these edits, just terrible at creating Wikipedia articles apparently xD I'm going through IMDb and want to create pages for film producers without articles yet Lanacoisetinne (talk) 09:54, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Really? You have no relationship to Head Gear Films? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:56, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
My flatmate works for them so I thought I'd do that page first but it's more for fun and not compensation Lanacoisetinne (talk) 10:01, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
I want to clarify something. If you do happen to – let's say hypothetically – work for this business, and you disclose that, you can still continue editing this draft, you just can't publish it directly and must instead go through the AfC review process, which is what you're doing already anyway. No biggie. But if you don't disclose it when you should, and are later found out, then that's very much a biggie, and probably would result in you being blocked.
Would you like to reconsider your stance? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:13, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Do you think it's something i should disclose? I don't work for them but I do have more info because of my flatmate so I could disclose that. I honestly don't work for them. Lanacoisetinne (talk) 10:37, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
That's all very odd. I don't want to out you, but a couple of quick Google searches suggest otherwise.
You obviously should not disclose something, if there genuinely is nothing to disclose. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:46, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
I can disclose that my flatmate/best friend works for them? It makes sense that I should but didn't realise I needed to until now. I don't know what Google says but it might be pulling up her name since I couldn't think of a username so she told me to use her old Tumblr name bc it's Irish and we met in Ireland lol Lanacoisetinne (talk) 12:05, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
