Adopt

Hello, Lazylaces! I see that you have expressed an interest in being adopted by an experienced editor. I accept your request, being an experienced editor myself. Whether you want to learn about wiki markup, find something to do, or just talk to somebody, I'm the one you can talk to - just leave a message on my talk page. Good luck with Wikipedia! --  Mikedk9109  (hit me up)  23:22, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Political

Of course its all right to express your political views on your userpage. If you could, could you put this userbox on your user page to replace the other one: Mikedk9109. Thanks. --  Mikedk9109  (hit me up)  01:13, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

I have to get offline for the night, but I will answer all of your questions tomoorrow when I get on. Thanks. --  Mikedk9109  (hit me up)  01:54, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Re: Questions

Yes, you may put pictures of your pets on your userpage. That page has no indication of being a candidate for deletion, so I would say no. --  Mikedk9109  (hit me up)  21:27, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Advice

Mikedk9109 is taking a Wikibreak. If you need any advice while he's gone, I'm available. Cheers, -- THL 07:12, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

You translated my text correctly. Recently, a lot of people have been coming on Wikipedia and typing in languages like Japanese, Arabic, ect. So, I put a rant on my page in Wingdings. Cheers, -- THL 19:15, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

My stress has gone down considerably over the past few days, but the sockpuppets and vandals haven't been slowing down at all. Oh well, Cheers. -- THL 01:52, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Mikedk9109 may or may not return. Like I said before, I'm always available. Cheers, -- THL 13:51, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

He is under a lot of stress right now. -- THL 13:55, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Good news! I just checked my E-mail, he will probably be coming back after the new year, or earlier. Until then, he has asked me to be your fill-in adopter. Cheers, -- THL 13:59, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

I added you as an adoptee ;). Cheers, -- THL 14:02, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm really not as serious as I sound. I do have a sense of humor. It's just that I have been sick for a long time, and I'm getting a little grumpy. I got the flu a while ago, and it never really went away. Yesterday it turned into Pneumonia, so I'm pretty annoyed that I have to be sick for Christmas. Don't take my lack of humor personally; I'm on some meds so I'll be better soon, as will my sense of humor. If you haven't already, check out WP:BJAODN. Cheers, -- THL 14:17, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Interesting, seeing as I haven't made a joke with you yet ;) -- THL 22:59, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. Hope your eyes return to normal soon. Cheers, -- THL 23:04, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

That looks cool. How did you get the green backround? Cheers, -- THL 23:21, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

How do I always fall for that joke? Anyway, des the "yay, it worked" mean that you don't need my help anymore? -- THL 01:24, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

RE:about reply

You don't, you just go to the other person's talk page and respond to them. I'm just typing RE: in the subsection heading; I'm not doing anything special. Cheers, -- THL 20:00, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Migration

Well, it's better then having them deleted. Cheers, -- THL 20:18, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Whatever keeps you from being frustrated. Cheers, -- THL 22:59, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

My sig should say it all

Subliminal message

Is it really sprotected, and how can you tell? It's not listed at Wikipedia:List of protected pages. Λυδαcιτγ 04:35, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I see. You can't sprotect simply by putting the template up - you have to be an admin. But the vandalism isn't bad enough to warrant sprotection, IMO. Λυδαcιτγ 02:12, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Nope. See Wikipedia:Bot policy. Λυδαcιτγ 18:27, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Riddle

That is a good riddle. It took me a while to get to the last page though. It thought that it was spelled "Chaps", not "Chap". Cheers, -- The Hybrid 17:09, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I may quit

I have grown tired of playing politics and dealing with corrupt people. I am taking a long Wikibreak to consider quitting. I have left a message at the WP:ADOPT talk page, but since we are also friends I thought that I should let you know. Peace, -- The Hybrid 20:37, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Its in spanish also? It is also italian. Peace. --James, La gloria è a dio 23:29, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

I've returned early

Due to my user page templates being vandalized I have made an early return. I will have a discussion with Sir James regarding your adoption status. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 07:43, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

He won't reply to my E-mails. Until he replies you can consider both of us adopters. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 23:04, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Reply

It doesn't look like what he was doing was in bad faith, so I won't call it vandalism. I did send him a message though. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 22:07, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: joke banner removals

Yes, Darkest Hour is really good at writing codes and templates. I really like your new user page, and your new sig. Well, what have you been up to? 声援 -- The Hybrid 22:59, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Cool, it's all been the same for me lately, other than another failed RfA, but that's no big deal. Vandalism reverts, talk page discussions related to wrestling, fighting off the IPs who try to ignore the rules that they don't like thinking that we will just go away eventually, ect. ect. ect. Peace, 声援 -- The Hybrid 13:59, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Re:Re:Re:Re:Well Now

Done. Bon Appétit. --—Semper Fi, Darkest Hour 16:48, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Done, I think

Your friends page? If so then done. —Semper Fi, Darkest Hour 18:04, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

RfA

Well, the paperwork is probably the shortest part of an RfA. The intense preparation is the hard part, as that can take months of boring work, and you do it all to become a janitor, yeah! 声援 -- The Hybrid 23:07, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Your riddle (03.09.2007)

I know the answer to this but just how the nonsense am I to move onto the indicated page? Am I supposed to type User:Lazylaces/tgs9, /TGS9, /teen girl squad issue 9, teen girl squad 9??? What am I supposed to type? --Addict 2006 15:54, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Now what? 1 This leads to another dead end. What am I supposed to type NOW?!

 • MikeAndMattChapman
 • TheBrothersChaps
 • Mike&MattChapman
 • Mike&Matt
 • MikeAndMatt
 • MikeandMatt
 • Or any lowercase/uppercase mistypings

-- Believes you're just not stating that you need to omit spaces and leave off lowercase letters, Addict 2006 03:52, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Ugh, enough! Show me the answer in a link! --Addict 2006 03:55, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Reply: That isn't very assuring. Look, what I meant was: What was the user subpage anyway? User:Lazylaces/Something, right? (Replace "Something" with the exact page link) --Addict 2006 22:39, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: Is this vandalism?

It is. Where did you see it? --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 22:13, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Haha, I see now that it was on my user page. Thanks for the heads-up. :-) --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 00:25, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

This has been a user name I've been using for a long time now. FBV are my initials, and at the time of creation, I was very into The Sound of Music (not that I'm not anymore, but this was a HUGE obsession at the time), and 1965 is the year it was released and "edel" is the start of my favorite song from the film, "Edelweiss." --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 01:10, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Hehe, not quite. But I don't plan on giving away my real name any time soon. By the way, when you respond, you can type in the same section (like I'm doing here), you don't have to write a new section (beginning with ==these markers==) every time. :) --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 01:14, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, there's not much "credit" one can give on Wikipedia. :) I certainly appreciate it though! So, here a smile from me to you:
--Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 14:40, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Your input box

All right, I just used it to post here. One thing I'm wondering if you can fix though, not with the box but your page in general, is why there is no possibilty to edit sections individually. Did you insert __NOEDITSECTION__ somewhere around here? --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 23:01, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Yep, I'm back

Indeed, I have returned. Peace, -- The Hybrid 22:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Yep, that is definatly deletable. Notability specifically. -- The Hybrid 01:03, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, he looks like a cool guy. Do you know why there is no ability to edit individual sections on your page? -- The Hybrid 21:22, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Lazylaces

I found Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Lazylaces and I'd like to pass on a couple of comments. First, I don't know whether this is your intention or not, but your RfA isn't currently active. You have to follow the instructions and add it to WP:RFA before it becomes active. Second, you seem to be struggling to answer the first questions. It reads "What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with?". "Sysop" is another term for "administrator" so this is asking what would you do if we made you an admin? Finally, you should be aware that canvassing for an RfA is generally frowned upon. I would strongly recommend you not do any more of that if you really want to go through the RfA process. Good luck, Gwernol 22:30, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Why are you telling me that? You shouldn't have done it. --Addict 2006 23:56, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Um, like you told me, your RfA will fail miserably. I suggest having it deleted, or blanking your answers for an RfA at a (much) later date. If you want to be an admin you should ask me for help with the basics of vandal fighting, and then get some admin coaching. Peace, -- The Hybrid 01:39, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Re:Re:Well Now

You would have to move the tab1 down to your friend page and add your friend page to all the other tab pages. This is what you should put in ({User:Lazylaces/tab4}):

Now add this string to all the other tab pages above the tabsbottom:

Don't forget to add &_nbsp; but take out the (_) between the (&) and the (n).

It should look like this:

I've noticed that you are not in the habit of using the edit summary all the time. According to wikipedia guidlines you need to use the edit summary all the time to help the vandal fighters know if it is vandalism or not. Also if you want to become an admin you will need to show a need for the tools. Usualy they look for people with a lot of edits per month (1K or over), someone who has a fair amount of content edits, someone who votes in Afd's, and someone who fights vandalism. Also you will need to show a knowledge of policy and the ability to solve disputes and stay calm. Have a nice week and God bless:)James, La gloria è a dio 21:35, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. Calliopejen1 20:38, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

You created an article called Ripley's Haunted adventure, but it was created with content that had been pasted from urban dictionary. Wikipedia cannot accept text that is pasted from other websites because of copyright rules. If you would like to write a new original article, you can do that though. wow

Thanks Lazylaces, but I'm afraid that I will have to turn you down. You've never personally seen it in action, but I have civility issues, and they have already cost me one RfA. I have been trying to correct them, but I'm afraid that I have yet to defeat my short temper. I have no chance of passing right now. It means a lot to me that my friends have such confidence in me, but it will be strangers that judge me when the time comes. Thanks again Lazylaces, and I'm sorry that I have to turn down your offer. Re: RfA question

(Sorry to be slow in answering, I was away from my computer.) Your RfA is showing fine to me. It looks like EVula moved it from the bottom of the list to the top, which might have been why it wasn't visible before. Regards, Espresso Addict 19:58, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Your RFA

I've closed it per SNOW, since it had no chance of passing. Please take the suggestions from that RFA to heart, and you may want to reapply in a few months. Regards, —O () 00:38, 24 September 2007 (GMT)

...would you like me to take over as your official adopter again? I just took an a new one, so I was wondering if you'd like me to take over with you again as well. Peace, The Hybrid 20:54, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Franz Harary, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Proposed deletion of 3 NBs of Julian Drew

The article 3 NBs of Julian Drew has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable book, lacks references, author non-notable, fails WP:NBOOKS

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. i;ve added the summary

i;ve added the summary as you have noted on this page for my latest edit on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feedspot Some users were not able to stop their referral invitations or delete their account as it din't appear clear to them how to do it. We have made changes on users account settings page and made it very easy for users to wants to either stop their referral invites or delete their account by just one click www.feedspot.com/useredit — Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.238.7.6 (talk) 06:52, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Should probably note the above IP user is clearly affiliated to the subject of the article and is now inserting content of a promotional nature. There's been a long history of employees of the service promoting the website and whitewashing any negative content. I'm not even sure the website is notable enough for inclusion, as there are actually very few reliable sources covering the subject. The ~3 sources secondary sources used in the article are quick reviews of a new service, but there's nothing outside of those. Elaenia (talk) 07:11, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

The issues mentioned has been resolved. Earlier it was not clear and easy for users to stop their referral invitations and deleting account feature was also not there. But now users can do both the task from their main account settings with just one click. Both the point mentioned in the controversy paragraph is no longer true. That is why i removed it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 183.87.44.218 (talk) 01:39, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

That doesn't change the fact that it has been true in the past. The content you're removing is entirely accurate and current events do not change the history being described. Elaenia (talk) 01:44, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Dab

Hello. You edited my edit of including the word controversial for the dab dance when in fact there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the dance. Blah88221 (talk) 02:14, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

In that all of the artists mentioned as possible originators of the dance all reference drugs in their songs about dabbing and under the origins section of the Wikipedia page it is even claimed that there is speculation of it being associated with drugs, which can be neither proven nor disproven. Leaving the first paragraph of the page the way it is makes the dance appear like a pleasant dance with no acknowledgement of the controversy that surrounds the dance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blah88221 (talkcontribs) 02:30, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Lazylaces! First of all, I want to sincerely thank you for vandal patrolling and fighting vandalism. It's a tedious job, and I appreciate it very much! I just wanted to point out your reversion here that you made to Bell hooks. Please make sure that your use of rollback is for blatant vandalism. This appeared to be more of an edit test or good faith change, since it's not capitalized in other places within that article. Remember that, per rollback policy, using it without an edit summary should be for blatant vandalism. However, if you use an edit summary, you're good to go. I just wanted to leave you a courtesy message and let you know. Some editors are very strict about it, and I don't want to see your good admin work undergo unnecessary scrutiny because of this kind of stuff (since you're doing good work) :-). Deletion of Page

Dear Lazylaces,

Hello. First, I would like to thank you for the work you do on Wikipedia. It appears that you do a great job in looking at articles and understanding what does/does not fit the criteria of a good Wikipedia article and protecting the Wikipedia community.

I have a question concerning a page that you recently deleted, "Hannah Richardson". This was deleted under A9, "No indication of importance (musical recordings)". My question is as to why the article did not indicate the importance of the musical recordings. Although I have looked at articles regarding Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, I have not been able to see why the article in question should have been deleted due to it not being 'significant'. According to the "Wikipedia: Credible claim of significance" page, "any statement which, if reliably sourced, would be likely to persuade some of the commentators at a typical articles for deletion discussion to keep the article is a claim of significance." As I sourced throughout the entire article and discussed the musical recordings, I do not see why this would be an issue.

I also addressed the other part of A9, stating "none of the contributing recording artists has an article". I had many contributing artists in the article that are currently on Wikipedia. Some of these include Bow Wow, Victoria Banks, and OMG (OMG Girlz). Do they need to have been directly on the album? Would perhaps citing recording studios help?

Thanks so much, and I sincerely hope that you can offer some advice for this page to be published. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sparklyboa (talkcontribs) 05:23, 13 March 2016 (UTC)

have her do something notable on a much larger scale Lazylaces (Talk to me) 07:07, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
What would you consider to be of a much larger scale? I only ask because it seems that according to the Wikipedia page about significance, as long as statements are properly sourced, they are "likely to persuade commentators". Do I need to give the audience attendance numbers? The sales she has had? More places she has performed? I suppose I am looking for where I can get more significant as she has already been a singer/actress on many Wikipedia cited articles...(3 Angels Television Network, The Apollo Theater, The Bryce Jordan Center, etc.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sparklyboa (talkcontribs) 14:47, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
she hasn't really done anything significant, though. at least not on the scale required for her own wikipedia article. Lazylaces (Talk to me) 16:10, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
But the significance of Miss Richardson is of differing opinions. Although many consider singing 14 times at The Apollo Theater and opening for Top 100 Billboard artists such as Victoria Banks and Bow Wow in front of tens of thousands of fans to be significant, you yourself may not. This is fine as everyone is entitled to their opinion; however, Wikipedia does not have a list of accomplishments needed to be considered. All Wikipedia asks, according to A9, (the reason you gave for taking down the article), is that the reasons for the artist's importance are listed and cited correctly. An example is that opening for Victoria Banks, (a Billboard Top 100 singer/songwriter) is significant since it exposes Miss Richardson to thousands of fans and will make them curious as to knowing who she is, therefore making sense that she should be in an encyclopedia, (like Wikipedia). Since Miss Richardson's page fits this criteria, it seems that her article should be allowed on Wikipedia...
Thank-you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sparklyboa (talkcontribs) 19:44, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
ok, but if she's significant enough to garner a wikipedia article, then why did more than one person agree that the article should be deleted? also wikipedia is not just gonna promo your daughter because you want to "expose" her to the public. Lazylaces (Talk to me) 19:47, 13 March 2016 (UTC)

Can we talk about Huggle?

I’m reaching out to you because our logs tell us you’re a highly active Huggle user (top 20, actually). The Wikimedia Collaboration Team is researching a project that we hope will be useful to people who use Huggle and others engaged in edit-review and anti-vandalism. Using artificial intelligence programming (in ORES) and other means, we believe we can create feeds of Recent Changes that are better tailored to the type of work you do, helping you to be more effective and efficient. (The technology will have other benefits as well, which we can talk about.)

We're in the early stages of planning this and want to speak with people like yourself to better understand your work, goals and issues. If you’re interested in helping, I’d like to set up a time to meet by video conference, so that you can explain and demonstrate (via screensharing) some of your workflows, and we can ask and answer any questions.

To participate, please email the following information to me, jmatazzoni wikimedia.org, or send it to designresearch wikimedia.org:

Proposed deletion of File:Commishar vanishes.gif

unused, low-res, no obvious use

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
