Speedy deletion of TalkCeltic

edit

A tag has been placed on TalkCeltic requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. {{hangon}} tag on 2010–11 Dunfermline Athletic F.C. season

edit

Please don't create articles with a {{hangon}} tag. The {{hangon}} tag should only be placed if a tag requesting speedy deletion is placed on an article. Placing a "hangon" as your first action implies that you feel that the article is sure to be nominated for speedy deletion – not the best way of showing you have faith in your own article. If an article of yours is nominated for speedy deletion then you may, if you wish, add a "hangon". You must then go on to explain on the article's talk page why the article should not be speedily deleted. Regards Tonywalton Talk 01:07, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Denis Prychynenko

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Denis Prychynenko requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Edinburgh Wanderer 21:38, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Player is non notable as has never made any first team appearances. Not only that you copied whole article from my userspace. Not polite to do so with out asking page would be moved when he meets WP:Footy as has never made a professional appearance.Edinburgh Wanderer 21:42, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for taking the time to contribute.

I'm a bot designed by another Wikipedia editor, and I'm here to help you with our deletion process. I noticed that while working on an article recently, you removed a speedy deletion template that tagged it for deletion. Don't get discouraged! Deletion discussions happen on Wikipedia all the time.

If you don't want the article to get deleted, please click here.

The link will take you to the talk page, where you can explain why the article should be kept. If you have any questions about this or need help with editing, you can ask at the Help desk.

We really hope you'll stick around to help make Wikipedia better! Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 21:45, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

November 2011

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. This is especially true in cases of userspace drafts. The editor(s) must be attributed. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 22:03, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Newco Rangers for deletion

edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Newco Rangers is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Newco Rangers until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Robby The Penguin (talk) (contribs) 18:08, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve 2013–14 Scottish Challenge Cup

edit

Hi, I'm Falkirks. Lbarnett-bl, thanks for creating 2013–14 Scottish Challenge Cup!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. I have reviewed your new article and passed it. At this time it doesn't appear to have any references please try to add these soon.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. FalkirksTalk 17:56, 27 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Airdrie / Airdrie United / Airdrieonians

edit

Hi, I have reverted your move - please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Airdrie / Airdrie United / Airdrieonians, I have made some suggestions there but we will need to take to WP:RM. Regards, GiantSnowman 14:06, 3 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

You also moved the old club to a wrong name - it should be 1878 not 1881! GiantSnowman 14:10, 3 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Please see correct information that I have posted on the page given on this topic! (Lbarnett-bl (talk) 14:12, 3 June 2013 (UTC))Reply
I agree it should be 1878. The club was formed on that date and the date in the title refers to the date of formation, not the date of a name change. If that was the case and we decide to put a date on the current clubs page to avoid confusion, we'd need to put 2013. Which is obviously nonsense. VanguardScot 14:32, 3 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

STOP

Please do not move any templates/categories etc. relating to Airdrie / Airdrie United / Airdrieonians, we are at great risk here of ballsing up page histories! GiantSnowman 17:00, 25 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Page histories are in tact if these are direct moves to a new name? (Liam_Barnett (talk) 17:05, 25 June 2013 (UTC))Reply
Yeah, but a) knowing what needs to be where is hard enough and b) there is the risk of redirect pointing to wrong places etc. or containing history. Take your time. GiantSnowman 18:59, 25 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

2013–14 Scottish League Cup

edit

Hello, Lbarnett-bl, and thank you for your contributions!

An article you worked on 2013–14 Scottish League Cup, appears to be directly copied from http://agora.lookinglocal.gov.uk/wiki/2010%E2%80%9311_Scottish_League_Cup. Please take a minute to make sure that the text is freely licensed and properly attributed as a reference, otherwise the article may be deleted.

It's entirely possible that this bot made a mistake, so please feel free to remove this notice and the tag it placed on 2013–14 Scottish League Cup if necessary. MadmanBot (talk) 13:03, 11 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

It's actually nothing like that article & is more an adjustment of the previous season's article to make a new one, I will remove the Soccerway link as it isn't yet functioning. (Liam_Barnett (talk) 13:06, 11 July 2013 (UTC))Reply

Also I'm working on references, I'll get them up shortly. (Liam_Barnett (talk) 13:06, 11 July 2013 (UTC))Reply

Scottish templates

edit

Sigh, again, please do not rashly move templates as soon as there is a slight change in the organization of Scottish football. I have reverted - please take to WP:TFD or create new templates (there is a precedent of historical templates remaining i.e. {{Scottish Premier Division top scorers}} runs up until the start of the SPL). If you make any such move again I will block your account. GiantSnowman 21:58, 24 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Super sigh! You never cease to amaze me, there seemed to be a lot in place so I was of the opinion that we knew what was happening, I also found no such discussion ongoing? (Liam_Barnett (talk) 22:50, 24 July 2013 (UTC))Reply

Template:Scottish Premiership seemed to be going with a redirect from Scottish Premier League so you can't be a twat about this! (Liam_Barnett (talk) 22:54, 24 July 2013 (UTC))Reply

If there was no discussion, you should have started one. I was unaware of the Scottish Premiership template; and if you use a personal attack again you will be blocked immediately. GiantSnowman 08:10, 25 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Personal attack? and also you seemed to have swerved acknowledging that I was correct in they circumstances no matter if it was technically correct or not, you have just said that you were unaware of the template. (Liam_Barnett (talk) 18:46, 25 July 2013 (UTC))Reply
Personal attack = "you can't be a twat about this." You were not correct in the circumstances, and I meant I was unaware that the Scottish Premiership template had been moved - I have already moved back. GiantSnowman 19:04, 25 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
"I have already moved back", that in itself is a lie! (Liam_Barnett (talk) 19:22, 25 July 2013 (UTC))Reply
Er no it's not, the template has been moved back to {{Scottish Premier League}} - but please continue with your baseless accusations, you are making a compelling case. GiantSnowman 20:02, 25 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
I can only presume then that there is also a new template at {{Scottish Premiership}} then? Which is fairly pointless when the SPL template contains the Premiership year. (Liam_Barnett (talk) 23:03, 25 July 2013 (UTC))Reply
No, that is a redirect created by the botched template move. GiantSnowman 08:01, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Now it is, it wasn't when I posted that message. (Liam_Barnett (talk) 23:24, 26 July 2013 (UTC))Reply

Proposed deletion of 2018–19 Raith Rovers F.C. season

edit

The article 2018–19 Raith Rovers F.C. season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet WP:NSEASONS criteria for presumed notability and there is nothing remarkable enough about this season to suggest a WP:GNG pass either. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
